This paper examines factors affecting e-commerce adoption among users in Zanzibar. Due to differences in culture, technological infrastructure, education, and awareness, the factors affecting e-commerce adoption in developing nations differ from those in industrialized ones. Zanzibar as an archipelago off the coast of East Africa in the Indian Ocean has adopted e-commerce. As the number of internet users grows dramatically in Zanzibar, the significance of e-commerce has risen which increases the need to conceptualize and understand e-commerce consumer adoption behaviors. Through literature review, the first model was developed with six variables. The Trust, Risk, and Technology Acceptance Model (Tri TAM) theory was used as a basis. A total of thirteen hypotheses were formulated in this paper. Additionally, data collected from 264 respondents was analyzed by IBM SPSS Statistic and Analysis of Moment Structures (AMOS). Furthermore, SEM revealed two significant factors out of three that directly affect the dependent variable. These are Trust (TR) and Technology Perception (TP). Although Policy Perception (PP) was insignificant with a negative value, but has an indirect effect by positively affecting Trust (TR). It discovered that, Trust (TR) mediates relationship of both Technology Perception (TP) and Policy Perception (PP) on Intention to use e-commerce (ITU). Education and Experience were then tested to verify their moderating effect between independent and dependent variables by the Hayer process macro. Both (Education and Experience) moderate effects of Technology Perception (TP) and Trust (TR) on Intention to use e-commerce (ITU). Hence, ten (10) hypotheses were accepted while three (3) hypotheses were rejected. The valid model was then produced. Lastly, the paper provides recommendations to the revolutionary government of Zanzibar together with the Government of Tanzania on the ways to improve e-commerce usage for the development of the country. Inflation rate plays important role in economic stability of a nation since it is one of the significant macroeconomic variables that affect virtually every aspect of the economy. The study's focus was to ascertain the responses of inflation to shocks in money supply and fiscal deficit in Nigeria. Data used was obtained from Central Bank of Nigeria statistical bulletin from 1981 to 2021. The study adopted vector auto regression (VAR), impulse response functions and variance decomposition for its analysis. Findings of this study revealed that inflation responded negatively to variations in the money supply in Nigeria, Fiscal deficit is a negative function of inflation in Nigeria, thus increase in fiscal policy would likely reduce inflationary tendencies in the country. The study further suggested that government should increase accessibility of funds for borrowing and embark on prudent management of borrowed funds so as to curb inflation in Nigeria. The program and survey was funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and Technical University of Kenya RISA Award No. 2023-015 and conducted under NACOSTI Permit No. NACOSTI/P/23/23979 of 23/February/2023. Abstract This survey was conducted as part of a project that seeks to develop a technology transfer assistance model that can effectively bridge the gap existing between technology sources like Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and technology users like Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and other firms operating in the Nairobi innovation ecosystem. The project team at the Technical University of Kenya (TUK) was one of the grantees in the Research and Innovation Systems for Africa (RISA) program for the year 2023 that was implemented between January, 2023 and December, 2023. The RISA program was funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) that aims to strengthen research and innovation ecosystems in Africa. The study was anchored on the Theory of Change. The project commenced with a research phase which took place between January and March 2023, with a survey of 1200 SMEs operating within the targeted geographical region. This was followed by in-depth interviews with a cross section of stakeholders from higher education institutions, research institutes, and managers from funding organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and advocacy groups to obtain insights on technology development and transfer within the Nairobi innovation ecosystem. The findings of the study indicate a gap in the access and assimilation of new technologies by SMEs, driven by factors that have organizational, regulatory and institutional perspectives. The project team held three stakeholder engagement workshops to disseminate the findings of the survey, deliberated on challenges encountered on technology transfer and knowledge exchange between SMEs and HEIs. As part of capacity building at the Technical University of Kenya, the project team in the month of June 2023 conducted a four day Training of Trainers (TOTs) for forty faculty members on Research to Commercialization (R2C). The TUK faculty trained as TOTs facilitated in training three hundred SMEs who were invited to a six day capacity building training. The SME training covered introduction to innovation and entrepreneurship, business planning and strategy, communication and marketing, digitalization and new product development, business finance, and human resource management. The project team prepared a policy brief, and is championing the creation of a model regional technology hub at TUK, to host incubators, accelerators, crosscutting partnerships and collaborations using a quadruple approach strategy that involves four components of a functional innovation ecosystem; people, technology, capital, and infrastructure. To achieve sustained economic development of RNM should include agricultural development while reducing the differences in development of certain sectors of the economy. Since a long time pursued the search for a universal model of agriculture financing it is concluded that the creation of such a model is impossible. So, it takes a combination of several different models of funding that do not involve only funds from the agricultural budget, but also from foreign sources. Since there is no universal model provides an overview of agriculture financing from several sources such as loans from commercial banks, National and Regional funds, leasing, securities, concessions, public-private partnerships, joint ventures, donations and international funds. The above-mentioned ways of financing can be similar to each other but also different because each of them has its own characteristics, advantages and disadvantages. It is necessary to harmonize all potential sources and make them available to farmers because each of them knows that the financing model suits them and whether they can borrow. Although RNM has its own policy for the development of agriculture, it obviously varies by periods of observation. Thus, the aim of the work is to show the importance of combining and harmonizing the different models of financing of agriculture of RNM as well as their implementation. The study investigated the distributional influence of exchange rate pass-through (ERPT) on inflation rate in Nigeria. Monthly data ranging from January 1999 to December 2021 which was extracted from the Central Bank of Nigeria statistical bulletin was used. The unique contribution of the study lies on the fact that it utilizes quantile regression model (QRM) to ascertain the ERPT to inflation at diverse quantiles. The results show that ERPT distributionally influences inflation in Nigeria positively and significantly at diverse quantiles (quantiles 10 th , 25 th . 50 th , 75 th and 90 th ). It demonstrates that ERPT to inflation is size-based and it is sensitive to the duration of financial market turmoil. The study recommends a proactive policy response towards exchange rate management as well as a robust macroeconomic policy regulation. Furthermore, to tackle food inflation, Government should strengthen its agricultural and industrial policies to boost domestic production and hence reduce overreliance on imported goods. On 11 March 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 as a global pandemic. This pandemic is having serious negative effects on global trade, domestic economies, employment, and generally, on our way of life. Therefore, many countries have had to come up with economic stimulus packages to support businesses and individuals, especially those most severely impacted by the pandemic, including Zambia. Although relief packages have been put in place in Zambia, it remains unfounded whether the measures have been effective to the extent of facilitating positive business growth, especially in the Zambian construction sector. Hence, this research will be an investigative study on the effectiveness of the relief incentives In Zambia particularly in the construction sector. The main aim of the study was to investigate the effectiveness of the relief incentives in Zambia particularly in the construction sector. The study was anchored on the Theory of Determinants of Investment and the Neoclassical Theory. In achieving this objective, the methodology that was employed in the study involved the use of a survey using questionnaires with a sample size of 40 construction companies in Lusaka District as the respondents were interviewed using a simple random sampling method that guaranteed that the sample used was not biased. The analysis of the data involved Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software. The study established that tax relief incentives in Zambia's construction sector have been effective and encouraging business growth. In addition, the tax relief incentives in Zambia have a positive impact on the construction sector. The study also establishes that among the multiple options to enhance the effective progressivity of their tax systems Zambia has used the Tax waiver as the most effective one. The study recommends that the Zambian government review the coherence of its tax relief incentive programs to eliminate inconsistencies between goals, criteria, and instruments, among other recommendations. This study examined the impact of fuel subsidy payments on domestic food price inflation in Nigeria from 2015-2022. Rising and volatile food inflation amid high fuel subsidy expenditures motivated an analysis of their linkage. An Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model was estimated using quarterly time series data on fuel subsidy payments, global crude oil prices, agricultural productivity, per capita income, and food inflation. The results provide evidence of a statistically significant negative relationship between fuel subsidies and food inflation, both in the short and long run. The model estimates that reducing fuel subsidies transmits into higher domestic food prices within a quarter itself. Global oil prices positively impact food inflation by raising production and transport costs over time. Agricultural productivity reduces food inflation sustainably by encouraging greater output. Per capita income increases food inflation via higher demand. Overall, the findings align with the theoretical framework of cost-push drivers of food inflation. Gradual subsidy reform is recommended, coupled with investments in agriculture, social transfers for low-income households, economic diversification, and prudent monetary policy to mitigate risks of inflationary shocks. Worldwide small businesses are known to possess great potentials for boosting economic growth and development. They help medium scale enterprises as well as big industries in the production and supply chain. However, research has shown that over one-third of small businesses in Nigeria do not to see the third year after their establishment owing to different problems and challenges (Ademola, Olaleye, Olusuyi, & Edun, 2013). It is against this backdrop that this study investigates the problems and challenges of small businesses as tools of economic growth and development. Its focus was Nsukka urban, which is the second economic hub of Enugu State after the state capital, Enugu. There is no known empirical evidence on the challenges faced by small scale businesses in Nsukka urban, which is a town where over 95% of businesses are on the small scale level. The specific objectives of the study were to: (1) ascertain the problems and challenges facing small businesses in Nsukka Urban, and (2) ascertain the ways in which owners of small businesses confront the challenges facing them. Four hundred and five (405) respondents were selected from a population of 3,300 registered members of four business associations in Nsukka urban. The selection was done through a multi-stage sampling technique, after which the questionnaire was used to elicit data from the respondents. Findings indicated that business owners acknowledged the prevalence of stiff challenges (weighted mean = 3.30). Individual business owners (weighted mean = 3.13) feared for their businesses in terms of the imminence of collapsing. Forty-five percent (45.2%) of the businesses have not reached the five-year mark. With a weighted mean of 3.52 respondents accepted that money to expand their businesses was a problem, and there were no credit facilities through which to raise money (weighted mean = 3.31). Sourcing goods was also reported to be a problem (weighted mean =3.32). The study recommended, among others, that the various trade associations should institute regular seminars on investment, business assessment and fund drive. This is to build the capacity of small scale business owners who saw government as the panacea for business problems.
