Manufacturing process variation causes product inconsistency. In electronic parts production, particularly wafer fabrication, the same concepts apply. In addition, the fact that a wafer contains a population of individual electronic parts makes wafer processing an ideal candidate for the application of Statistical Process Control (SPC) concepts and rules. This paper presents an industrial situation in electronic parts manufacturing where process quality was greatly improved using SPC to study the causes of process variation. This resulted in significant increase in production yield and a remarkable reduction in production cost.
Advances in artificial intelligence and embedded systems processing capabilities have contributed to monitoring people's health status, enabling the development of wearable devices and edge computing solutions. However, there are problems related to accuracy, energy efficiency, and signal transmission in embedded devices, which limit their application in health monitoring systems. This paper describes the development of an ESP32-based hardware device with health classification algorithms using embedded integration techniques and artificial intelligence (TinyML). The hardware device is developed by integrating temperature, heart rate, SpO2, and respiratory rate sensors. During the evaluations, it was found that the decision tree and random forest models offered accuracy greater than 85%, while the Support Vector Machine model presented greater memory consumption and sensitivity to variations in SPO2. Moreover, the random forest model had the highest accuracy (0.975) in both the software and the edge device, highlighting the importance of balancing efficiency and inference time.
In this paper a boost fly back converter with series and parallel configuration is introduced. This topology is a better way to implement low-cost high-power factor ac-dc converters with better output voltage regulation. The main advantages of this topology are a single switch is sufficient for both boost and fly back operations, voltage across the Power MOSFET is less and no requirement of snubber circuits. The fly back transformer is chosen as 1:1 transformer because of less stray inductance and low leakage inductance loss. The midpoint configuration type high frequency fly back transformer is used at primary side to obtain series and parallel combination of bulk capacitors and primary windings transformer. An input voltage of 28V AC 48V output DC 48W operating at 100Khz switching frequency AC to DC converter is presented. Hysteresis Current Control technique is used to control the switch and MATLAB Simulink is used to obtain the simulation results and FPGA SPARTRAN 6 is used to generate PWM signals for Hardware Implementation.
This research investigates accessibility in touristic and cultural areas in Thira (Santorini), focusing on perceptions and attitudes of professionals working in tourist industries. Research is based on mixed methods, analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data, in relevance to the Social Model of Disability and the Push-Pull Framework. Findings highlight limitations in transportation, infrastructure barriers, and a lack of adequate training for personnel working in this area. On the other hand, personnel are willing to adjust to more inclusive approaches, a matter that requires special training, and will result in broader improvement of the services provided.
This paper addresses the need for a dependable, safe, and user-friendly power management solution. This system transforms electricity distribution by emphasizing advanced user subscription management, cost-effective distribution techniques, and intelligent theft detection. Key features include power theft detection, over-limit current detection, email alerts for users and administrators, a website for administrators to monitor the system, an app for users to track their home status, and a control server for managing user's current limits and subscription statuses. Additionally, the system's cost-effectiveness adds significant value compared to existing prototypes. The study includes examining the current state of power management, evaluating the benefits and limitations of various existing systems, and providing comparative analysis to determine the optimal design approach. The research outcome is a design that prioritizes Sustainability, efficiency, and security. Additionally, we have simulated, implemented, and tested a prototype, and the results validate the design.
