The promising area – attractive for recreation – is located within two large geomorphological regions, the Polonynsko-Chornohorsky Carpathians (Svydivets Massif) and the Vododilno-Verhovynsky Carpathians (Bratkivsky Ridge of the Pryvododilny Gorgany). The area includes the highest part of the Svydivets Massif, i.e., Urdu-Flavantuch Ridge (Mt Blyznytsia, 1881 m), Apshynets and Svydivets Ridge (Mt Kotel, 1770.8 m; Mt Dogiaska, 1761.7 m; Mt Troyaska, 1762.6 m), whose structure contains sediments of fine rhythmic flysch and coarse sandstones of chalk and Paleogene. The morphostructure of the Bratkivsky Ridge (Mt Velyka Bratkivska, 1788 m) was formed on the Paleocene and Eocene sediments dominated by massive sandstones, whose outcropping created large masses of rock fields. The typical morpho-sculptural elements are relict landform tiers, as well as forms of Pleistocene icing and extraglacial forms. The dominating forms of Pleistocene ice accumulation are cirques with steep rocky lateral and back walls, troughs (ice plains), rocky cirque ridges (karlіngs), rock bars (transverse rocky cliffs at the bottom of ice plains), glacier deposits (moraines), and lakes in cirque bottoms. Within the area between the spurs of the Turbatska valley in the west and the Menchul valley in the east, there is a large group of Apshynets and Vorozhesky cirques. Most researchers note that the system of these cirques is the most striking area of the relict alpine relief of the Svydivets Mountain Group – with steep rocky walls, cirque lakes (tarns), numerous exarative & accumulative forms, snowfields, and nival niches. The area shows a full spectrum of modern morphodynamic processes: sheet erosion (deluvial erosion), linear erosion, defluxion, slow solifluction, nival processes, mudflows, windthrows & wind falls, as well as gravitational processes, that is, rock slides, talus deposits, avalanches, and landslides. When any slope process starts, it is always connected with geological, geomorphological and climatic factors, as well as economic activity. In fact, exogenous morphological processes are mutually conditioned ("chain reaction"). When designing recreational complexes, the geo-ecological approach is most often used. This approach ensures the most rational and secure use of natural resources, as well as preservation, enhancement and improvement of the environment. Key words: landform, morphostructure, morphosculpture, morphodynamic processes, Ukrainian Carpathians, Chorna Tysa, recreation, geographical forecasting.
Formulation of the problem. The Dniester Regional Landscape Park (DRLP) is a natural protected area of Ukraine that extends along the right bank. Dniester, within the Tlumatsky and Gorodenkovsky districts of Ivano-Frankivsk region, covers an area of 19 656 ha. It was founded by the decisions of the IvanoFrankivsk Regional Council on July 15, 1993 and December 3, 2016, when the park was named after Sergiy Didych. The objectives of the park are: conservation of valuable natural and floristic-cultural complexes; creation of conditions for efficient tourism and recreation; adherence to the regime of protection of protected objects; promotion of ecological and educational work; maintaining an overall environmental balance in the region. The research methodology performed by the specialists of the Department of Ecology of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas was based on a component assessment of the ecological state of the geological environment, relief, water resources, atmospheric air, soil and vegetation, sociosphere and technosphere by selection construction of databases and ecological and technological-geochemical maps of the state of the environment. As a result of studies of the geological environment, geomorphosphere and soil cover, their changes under the influence of natural (planar, linear and bright erosion, villages, landslides, landslides, landslides, etc.) and technogenic (quarries, drilling wells, etc.) factors are still negligible - from 0.0015 to 0.04% of the area and volume in the model areas. Surface water pollution in the Dniester River and its tributaries is average, and groundwater - from normal to satisfactory. Only in places where the polluted water is discharged is it difficult and unsatisfactory. Ecological condition of atmospheric air, precipitation of rain and snow, vegetation cover - normal and only about mm. Interpreter and Gorodenko - satisfactory and complex. On the whole, according to the assessment of all environmental components, the environment of the DRLP is still in good condition, but requires the implementation of the measures recommended by the authors. The scientific novelty of the environmental research of the DLRP is that the authors of the article first performed their own field environmental studies on the monitoring system of each component of the landscape, and the results using GIS technologies to build a summary ecological map.The practical significance of the work is to provide the DPRL with a scientific basis for the creation of a permanent ecological monitoring network and the dissemination of the methods of ecological assessment developed by the authors to other nature reserves and sites - nature monuments, reserves, national nature parks, nature reserves, biosphere reserves and reserves.
The first discoveries of mummified carcasses of the woolly rhinoceros, mammoth, horse, roe deer and other animals were made at a depth of 12 m in the course of mining work at an ozokerite mine near the village of the Starunia. In 1929 an expedition of the Academy of Arts and Sciences from Krakow, when investigating the mine at a depth of 17 m, found the remains of 3 more woolly rhinoceroses. There were also numerous bones of small vertebrates (rodents), artichokes, numerous insects, beetles, parasitic worms, fleas, butterflies, spiders, snails, vascular plants, seeds and branches of dwarf birch, alder, and other representatives of tundra flora. In March 1977, after the earthquake in the Vrancha Mountains (Romania), the first and still the only mud volcano in the Carpathians, which added an entirely new “ note “ to the Starunia paleontological location , arose on the ozokerite deposit. In the 1970s-80s several dozen remains of ancient man from the late Paleolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic periods were discovered. In 2004-2009, two Ukrainian-Polish expeditions were organized. The results of both expeditions were published in 2005 in the book «Polish and Ukrainian Geological Studies (2004-2005) at Starunia – the area of discoveries of Woolly Rhinoceros» and the scientific collection «Interdisciplinary Studies (2006-2009) at Starunia (Carpathian Region, Ukraine). The main achievements are set forth in 17 articles and relate to the geological environment, geomorphology, lithology, stratigraphy and paleography of the Holocene deposits, their palynological and paleobotanical characteristics, chronostratigraphy and environmental changes during the period of the late Pleistocene and Holocene, and also research by methods of electric probe, gravity and microgravity survey, geochemical analysis, microbiological characteristics and bitumen of Quaternary deposits. An important result was the discovery of the most productive area where the remains of giant mammals and even Pleistocene Cro-Magnon could still be found at depths. All the numerous interdisciplinary research of Polish and Ukrainian scientists confirms the uniqueness of Starunia on a global scale, requiring the preservation and further study of the paleontological finds and of the only mud volcano in the Carpathians. Such findings can onlybe made by organizing the Starunia International Ecological and Tourist Center «Geopark Ice Age».
The Ice Age Geopark (IAG) is a landscape and architectural model of the ancient Late Pleistocene (45-11 kya BP) natural environment of the last epoch of Vistula (Würm, Valdai) glaciation when giant animals of the so-called mammoth fauna inhabited the study area. Today, it is a natural geological landmark ‘Starunia’, which acquired this status in 1984. In addition to fossil mammals, among the IAG’s objects are eleven types of mineralized water sources, the only active mud volcano in the Carpathians, a number of oil volcanoes, a gas flare burning from the 1940s over the borehole ‘Nadiia’, and the remains of concrete foundations of oil boreholes and others. The first carcasses of mammoth Mammuthus primigenius Blum., embalmed with salt and bitumen, and woolly rhinoceros Rinoceros antignitatis Bium were recovered from the depths of 12.5 m and 17.6 м, respectively, from the mine №4 (“Mammoth”) during the development of the ozokerite deposit in 1907 on the SW border of the Starunia village, Bohorodchany district Ivano-Frankivsk region. In 1929, an expedition of the Academy of Arts and Sciences from Krakiw, investigating the mine at the depth of 17 m, found the remains of three woolly rhinoceroses. Such artifacts became the objects of the proposal to create an Ice Age Geopark in Starunia, the project of which was completed in 2006 by Associate Professor D.O. Zorin and Head of Starunia village I.V. Mosiuk. The natural environment of mammoth fauna – periglacial tundra – was reconstructed by joint Ukrainian-Polish expeditions of 2004–2005 and 2007–2009 using the methods of palynological, paleocarpological, malacofauna analyses and determination of the absolute age by 14C dating. (M. Kotarba, R. Stakhovych-Rybka, T. Sokolovskyi, etc.). In 2019, an ecological-cultural project “Small Cities – Great Impressions” of the Starunia Village Council and the Association of Village, Town Councils and United Communities of Ukraine, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine with the participation of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas was implemented. To simulate the figures of mammoth, rhino, deer and hunter-cutter the technique of Topiar Art, known since Roman times was used. On October 26, 2019, the Festival-opening of IAG was held with ca. 17,000 visitors. The real implementation of the scientific idea has begun.
Abstract. The anthropogenic environmental changes over the past decade have become global for the entire globe. They deeply penetrate into all components of the environment - the lithosphere, the geomorphosphere, the hydropower and the atmosphere, the soil and vegetation, alter the physical fields of the Earth and the Cosmos, transforming the original natural landscapes into natural and human-made geosystems and endangering human health and life. Especially sensitive to changes are the least protected natural landscapes on the territories of the nature reserve fund - natural monuments, nature reserves, regional parks, national natural parks, natural and biosphere reserves. The article deals with the issues of technogenic influence on the part of the territory of the Dniester Regional Landscape Park - Bistriza-Tlumach’s and Prydniester-Pokutskiy hills of the Prut-Dniester interfluve in Ivano-Frankivsk region. The authors carried out an ecological assessment of the environmental components of the specified territory - geological environment, relief, hydro- and atmosphere, soil and vegetation cover. Recommendations on the reduction of anthropogenic influence by introducing geoinformation technology of environmental protection, its modeling and forecasting are offered. Most of the study area has a generally normal ecological status. There are favorable conditions along the Dniester Canyon, where the oxygen content in the atmospheric air is higher than the average. Within a short distance of the Dniester Canyon from the north-west to the southeast, lanes of satisfactory condition stretch. Within them, five sites of complex ecological status have been identified. The comparison of the obtained data of the ecological assessment of the heights on the right riverside with the adjacent territory on the left riverside of the Dniester – located there National Nature Park “Dniester Canyon” showed that practically all geo-ecological structures of the right bank have their continuation on the left riverside. It follows that the Dnistrovsky Regional Landscape Park should be transferred to the category of nature reserve fund “National Nature Park” and be combined with the National Park “Dnistrovsky Canyon”. Keywords: environmental assessment; geoecological state; environmental components; inter-rivers; hills; anthropogenic influence; GIS-technologies.
. The article deals with the problem of technogenic impact on natural ecosystems most clearly manifested in natural protected areas. The methodology of their environmental research and geoinformational technology of environ mental protection at the objects and territories of the nature reserve fund - natural monuments, nature reserves, regional landscape parks, national natural parks, nature reserves and interstate bi- and trilateral biosphere reserves - are proposed. The essence of the proposed concept consists in the component ecological assessment of all components of ecosystems - geological environment, geophysical fields of the Earth and the Cosmos, relief, water and air environment, soil and vege -tation, fauna, demospheres and technosphere, the subsequent synthesis (integration, summation) of these environmental assessments I will become each component in the complex system of ecological safety of nature protection objects and territories that is possible only with the help of geoinformation technologies. The authors of the article substantiated the process of automating the construction of complex, summary, synthetic, integrated maps of the modern natural and man-made (ecological) situation as a productive environmental audit, which subsequently makes it possible to compile, by means of a transparent computer overlay, component cards that result from the overlay of elemental ecological and technogeochemical cards In each component of the natural-human-made geosystems (PAGS), both natural and anthropogenic changes can occur. It was this an impetus for writing a consistent algorithmic forecast for the development of PAGS.
Paleontological location of the Pleistocene fauna of hairy rhinos and mammoths near the village. Starunya Bogorodchany district of Ivano-Frankivsk region (Prykarpathian, Ukraine) is considered as a paleoclimatic rapper of global changes and a stratigraphic "bridge" linking stratigraphic patterns of the Upper Pleistocene of Western Europe and the plain territory of Ukraine. This is important for the reconstruction of global climate change and the transformation of natural and man-made geosystems.
The characteristic of the head geoecological problems of the Eastern Ukraine was pointed out, and they were piled up with technogenic shovels of major promises, energetic oilgas viscous complexes. The constructive ecological model of optimization is blocked and the post-crane will become the environment. Key words: strategy ecology, monitoring, environmental auditing, landscape, geoecological assessment.
In Starunia village ozokerite deposit was mined in the years 1868-1960. In 1907 remnants of woolly rhinoceros and mammoth were discovered in one of the shafts. A second discovery was made in 1929, in a special shaft digged by the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences, where remnants of three woolly rhinoceroses were found including one, a unique in the world, almost completely preserved specimen of this extinct species. In the 1970s, mud volcanoes were formed in relationship to seismic activity. In the vicinity of Starunia Paleolithic settlements were found of human population which might have inhabitated this area in the same period as large mammals. Geological, palaeontological and archaeological factors along with beautiful landscape of the Ukrainian Carpathian region make the Starunia village exceptional, world-class geotourist attraction. Hence, the concept of ecological and geological tourist centre has been proposed, located at the abandoned ozokerite mine in Starunia village.
