Objective To measure the pressure inside epidural;to introduce a show device which produces an objective indicating signal when epidural centesis is successful.Methods a)For 30 patients undergoing epidural centesis,after successful breakthrough of the dural,a pressure sensor machine was attached to the epidural needle to measure pressure in the epidural,b)The inventor designed a vacuole device indicating pressure change during epidural centesis.This device was tested on epidural centesis procedures performed on 50 patients.Result Pressure inside epidural was 10.8±4.2cmH_2O.The vacuole device successfully indicated pressure change 100% of the time.Conclusion The ideal vacuole device should be one-time-use disposable.It should be very cheap,small,easily sterilized,and consumes no electricity.It also does not change the original operating procedures adopted by anesthesiologists during epidural centesis.The vacuole injection device serves only as a reference.
