Objective To explore psychosocial factors that influence pregnancies to choose caesarean sections without obstetric indications,and to provide references for selecting a proper mode of delivery.Methods Symptom Check List(SCL-90),Eysenck Personality Questionnaire(EPQ) and Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS) were conducted on 461 women who had been pregnant for 36 to 40 weeks of gestation.Results The total score and scores of anxiety,phobia,depression,paranoid of SCL-90 in pregnant women were significantly higher than those of the norm(P0.01 for all);there were significant differences in each subscale score of EPQ between the pregnant women and the norm(P0.05,P0.01);the total score and the score of objective support of SSRS in women who chose caesarean sections were significantly lower than those undergoing vaginal delivery(P0.01 for both);the total score of SCL-90 was significantly correlated with the score of P,N subscale of EPQ and the objective support score of SSRS(P0.05,P0.01);the score of N subscale was significantly negatively correlated with the objective score and the total score of SSRS(P0.05,P0.01),while the score of E subscale showed positive correlation with the total score of SSRS(P0.05).Conclusion Psychosocial factors affect pregnancy's selection of labor way.
