Silica aerogel is a nice thermal insulation material. It has excellent characte- (ristics) like nano-structure, high porosity(more than 95%), large surface area(about (1 120 m~(2)/g)), low density(0.003 g/cm~(3))and low thermal conductivity(0.023 W·m~(-1)·K~(-1)). Some new processes were studied to reduce the preparation cost of silica aerogels.Thermal conductivity was measured. The thermal transfer mechanics was analysed, and different kind of insulation materials were compared.
In this paper preparation and research of SiO_2-TiO_2-Al_2O_3 inorganic-organic composite films were investigated. Stable composite sol was prepared using tetraethyoxysliane, tetra-n-butyl titanate, aluminium isopropoxide and coupling agent etc by order hydrolysis of the metal alkoxides derived from sol-gel process. The films were prepared by dip-coating method. The different analysis showed that the nanocomposite films were dense, transparent and scratch-resistant. Properties like hardness and scratch-resistant are greatly improved in comparison with pure SiO_2 film.
