In this work,we tested four nutrient solution formulas, two kinds of climbing things and height, two kinds of soilless substrate formula, and two type partitions between soilless media and soil on Vanilla fragrans.Based on these results, two kinds of nutrient solution formula were selected preliminarily suitable for soilless cultivation of V.fragrans.Further,these are verified the organic substrate favorable to the growth and development of V.fragrans.Then,the author creatively analyzed these results and put forward the concept that the bionic climbing cultivation techniques with the artificial shade and a preliminary research program on V.fragrans.
The nutritional status of Vanilla (Vanillafragrans or V. planifolia) culture on soilless substrate were tested. The results indicated that the nutrient content of vanilla is different after the application of different nutrient solution. The N content in leaves was in the appropriate range when use A3 nutrient solution and the control A5, while it deficiency in A1, A2 and A4 nutrient solution; in addition to the control A5 that the K content in leaves was lack, there is a high K content in the other four nutrient solutions; the P, Ca and Mg content in leaves was lack in all nutrient solutions, and Ca and Mg content lack serious. The serious imbalance in the ration of nutrient in leaves was observed in all nutrient solutions. From the nutrient content, in order to adjust the nutrient solution more appropriate should be based on the formula A3; while from the nutrient balance, the formula A2 is the best in the all types of formulations.
Through the spot reasearch, interviews and investigations, and data collection and sorting, the present status development of Cassava Industry of Wenshan Prefecture in Yunnan province were studied and overviewed. The existing problems during the course of the development were specially analyzed.
Based on the overall investigation of the cassava production areas of Honghe in Yunnan province, the present situation and existed problems in development were summarized.Suggestions were then in assistance for further development.
The variety ‘Honghe 1’,which was improved through selective breeding from mutant dwarf bananas in Hekou,Yunnan,is of good quality and moderate height at 1.8~2.23 m.The fruit finger length is between 22.29 and 23.78 cm which is a little longer than the mean level on the whole. The fruit curve degree is between 0.41°and 0.44°while the solid content is between 19%~20%.On large-scale cultivation,a yield of more then 24.4 kg(net weight) per plant was obtained from the new plant. In addition, this banana plant is dwarf, fast growing, with good fruit shape.
Euryodendron excelsum H.T.Chang is an endangered species from the family Theaceae endemic to china. The species is a state protected two-grade rare and endangered plant. In the wild, there are only more than 100 individuals were found in one remnant scattered population in Bajia region of Yangchun Country, Guangdong Province. This paper analyzed the reasons causing the endangered status of E. excelsum from the aspects of the geographical distribution, the population status, the life history characteristics and the effect of the environmental factors. The geographical distribution of E. excelsum limited its spatial expansion; Seeds germination and seedling survival of the species need a moisture and shady habitat, while the present population habitat is not beneficial to its regeneration and development. Anthropogenic disturbance including land clearance, individuals cutting and the destroying of habitat of E. excelsum affect its living seriously. Above all, the habitat fragmentation and the sharply declining number of individuals caused by human activities are the main reasons for the endangered status of E. excelsum. Based on the status of E. excelsum, the effective strategies for its protection should include both in situ conservation and ex situ conservation. In situ conservation should be stressed to protect the current living individuals from human damage thus to promote the population’s natural regeneration. Ex situ conservation, establishing a propagation center at a beneficial place is also imperative for restoration and reconstruction of E. excelsum. This paper will not only offer the theoretical references for the conservation and restoration of E. excelsum, but also offer the scientific data for other endangered species and biodiversity conservation.
Euryodendron excelsum is a critically endangered species from the family Theaceae endemic to China, very few individuals exist in Bajia region,Guangdong province. The author observed flowering phenology, flowering pattern, species of visiting insects and their foraging behavior, and bagged experiments had been done to determine it's pollination system. The results indicated that E.excelsum flowered normally and the flowering period was long, the nature fruit bearing percentage ranged from 42.4 % to 50.4 %.E.excelsum was an entomophilous plant, pollinators were diverse small insects such as bees, flies and butterflies etc.Totally seventeen species of insects were captured on the florescence and 9 species of them were observed visiting the flowers in every population. The pollination processes were normal,no fruit set of over 100 bagged flowers showed it was a cross pollinated plant.Because of agricultural exploitation and urban construction, many insects were affected,it was therefore suggested that including the pollinator protection in the strategy of E.excelsum protection.
