The motion process of progressive blanking and drawing dies was analyzed and a coordination design was implemented by using movement simulation technology and motion functions,in which way precision multi-position progressive dies can have a longer service life.A further study on the structural motion of precision progressive dies indicates that coordination of complicated structural motion system should be solved for the dies.
The multi-step bending forming process of precision progressive dies was investigated.A method for improving the bending precision and reducing the spring back was proposed in which numerical simulation technique was combined with function transformation according to energy conservation.Taking an HDMI connector iron shell as an example,four bending plans were developed for the 90° bending.The changes of internal energy in the forming and spring back process of various sheet metals were computed and compared and an optimized scheme was achieved.
