Free riding in peer-to-peer(P2P) systems means a peer utilizing other peers' network resources without contribution, which will cause severe degradation of the service quality in P2P streaming systems.A two-class fluid model was introduced to model and analyze the free riding problem. With this model, two scenarios including without seeders and with seeders were considered, and a quantitative analysis of the effect of free riding on the performance of P2P streaming systems particularly in the steady state was put forth. The result showed that both honest peers and free riders could achieve a much lower download time in the scenario with seeders than that without seeders, and thus it was essential to introduce the mechanisms to incentivize the seeders to stay in the system. The free riders could benefit greatly from the streaming server and the seeders, and thus it is important to introduce differentiated service for the server and seeders in P2P streaming systems.
n this article, an application of a new data processing tool-wavelet transform is introduced. It can be used for science study in physiology and the other subjects. Here we offer a method of extracting respiration frequency and heart beat ratefrom blood pressure waveform curve with wavelet transform and FFT.
Effects of electrical and chemical stimulation of the dorsal and ventral areas of the nucleus raphe dorsalis (dNRD and vNRD) on genioglossus and diaphragm activities were observed in 48 urethane-anaesthetized and vagotomized rabbits. (1) Long train electrical stimulation at the dNRD facilitated genioglossus and diaphragm activities. (2) Long train electrical stimulation delivered to the vNRD excited genioglossus activity but inhibited diaphragm activity. (3) Effects of microinjection of glutamate at the dNRD and vNRD were similar to the effects of electrical stimulation. The above results suggest that excitation of nucleus raphe dorsalis (NRD) increases genioglossus activity and reduces upper airway resistance. The dNRD and vNRD play different roles in modulating diaphragm activity.
