OBJECTIVE:To study the effect of extract of Ginkgo bilboa leaf (EGB) on renal lesions of early diabetic nephropathy (DN). METHODS:Sixty-eight patients with early DN were randomly divided into two groups, the control group (34 patients) and the treated group (34 patients). Patients in both groups received conventional therapy, while additional 9.6 mg EGB was orally taken by patients in the treated group, three times per day. The therapeutic course for both groups was three months. Indexes such as urinary microalbumin (mALB), alpha1-microglobulin (alpha1-MG), immunoglobulin (IgG), transferrin (TF), retinal binding protein (RBP) and N-acety-beta-D-glucosaminidase (NAG) before and after treatment between the two groups were compared respectively. RESULTS:Compared with before treatment, mALB, alpha1-MG, IgG, TF, RBP and NAG obviously decreased with significant difference in the treated group after treatment (P < 0.05). However, no significant decrease in the above-mentioned indexes in the control group (P > 0.05). CONCLUSION:EGB has the protective action on early DN.
Objective To investigate the changes and significance of calcium-activated potassium(K Ca)channels in aortic smooth muscle cells of New Zealand rabbits with atherosclerosis(AS).Methods Twenty healthy New Zealand white rabbits were randomly divided into two groups, the control group and the AS group.Single aortic smooth muscle cell was obtained by enzymatic treatment. Patch clamp technique was used to record the single K Ca channel current. The signal of channel open probability(Po), mean open dwell-time(To), mean close dwell-time(Tc) and current amplitude were recorded by the software of Pclamp 7.0. After adding different concentrations of Ca 2+ to the bath solution respectively, the above parameters were observed again. Results Compared with that of the control group, the activity of K Ca channel in the AS group was higher. Conclusion There was higher K Ca channel activity in atherosclerotic smooth muscle cells, which was possibly involved in the mechanisms of compensatory vasodilation in AS.
Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine on early diabetic nephropathy (DN).Methods 68 patients with early DN were randomly divided into two groups, the control group (n=34) and treatment group (n=34). The control group received only routine therapy, while the treatment group,on the basis of routine therapy, was treated with Yiqihuoxuebushen prescription, with a treatment course of 3 months for both groups. The urinary microalbumin (mALB),α1-microglobulin (α1-MG),immunoglobulinG (IgG),transferrin (TF),retinal binding protein(RBP),N-acety-beta-D-glucosaminidase (NAG) before and after treatment in two groups were detected and compared. Results The mALB,α1-MG,IgG,TF,RBP and NAG were decreased significantly after treatment in treatment group (P0.05),However, there was no significant decrease in control group (P0.05).Conclusion The therapeutic effect of Yiqihuoxuebushen prescription on early DN is superior to that of simple routine therapy.
