Objective To evaluate the result of retainerless denture restoration for major defect of dentition. Methods Retainerless dentures were made for 43 patients with major defects of dentition (different metal materials of skeleton were chosen according to patient conditions). The patients were checked after one year to three years to evaluate their restoration effects, such as stability,appearance, function, and etc. Results Except five patients with broken denture, the dentures of the rest patients were still in good conditions. The failure rate of the restoration was 11.6. Conclusion Retainerless denture restoration can achieve satisfactory results for major defects of dentition.
Objective: To study the feasibility of low-dose CT(LDCT) in the construction of three-dimensional(3D) model of the maxillofacial hard and soft tissues.Methods: The craniofacial CT examination was conducted by conventional dose(280 mAs) and low dose(35 mAs) in 20 patients,the scanning volume CT dose index(CTDIvol) and dose-length product(DLP) were recorded.The 3D model of the hard and soft tissues were reconstructed with Mimics 10.01 software,and 3D comparison of the morphologic data between LDCT and conventional dose CT was carried out with Geomagic 11.0 software.Results: There was statistical significance(P0.05)in CTDIvol and DLP values,rainbow diagram generated by 3D comparison of the models of the hard and soft tissues showed that the differences of the surface morphology was not greater than 0.5 mm,there was no statistical significance(P0.05)in coordinate values(X,Y and Z values) of each corresponding marked points of the hard and soft tissues.Conclusion: The low-dose(35 mAs) CT can be used to obtain three-dimensional model of the maxillofacial hard and soft tissues.
Objective To evaluate clinical effects of GC GRADIA DIREC light-curing composite resins for restoring the incisal edge defects.Methods 189 teeth with incisal edge defects were restored with applying GC GRADIA DIREC light-curing composite resins.And curial effects were evaluated by observing all the cases two years later after the treatment.Results The success rate of GC GRADIA DIREC light-curing composite resins for incisal edge defects is 97.88%.Conclusion GC GRADIA DIREC light-curing nano-hybrid composite resins can simulate the optics principle of scattering and diffuse reflection of the natural teeth and obtain invisible restoration (Chameleon effects).They also provide good bond behavior,high compressive Strength,favorable gloss and polishing,and excellent long-term stability.GC GRADIA DIREC light-curing composite resins are ideal materials for restorations of various incisor defects.

患者女,38岁.因44牙体严重缺损,用银汞合金充填后,要求金属烤瓷冠修复.查:该牙无叩痛,不松动,X线片示44已行根管治疗术,且根管无弯曲,尖周无特殊.在进行钉道预备时,患者突感灼痛,误认为产热引起,后检查为根管2/3处旁穿,遂用气枪喷入水雾冲洗,约2 min后患者感右侧面部肿胀,颊侧黏膜和患牙前庭沟处按压有明显捻发音.立即停止治疗,在根管内置樟脑酚棉球,开放,局部加压包扎,冰敷肿胀部位,并口服抗生素预防感染.次日复诊,诉吞咽食物时略感疼痛.
