This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of supplementation with compound enzymes and probiotics on sorghum diets on growth performance, serum antioxidant indexes and intestinal morphology of Liangfenghua broilers. A total of 900 healthy one-day-old Liangfenghua male broilers with similar body weight were randomly selected and allocated to 5 groups with 6 replicates per group and 30 broilers per repli-cate. Broilers in the control group were fed a basal diet, and others in the experimental groups were fed sor-ghum diet ( sorghum group ) , sorghum diet+compound enzyme ( sorghum+compound enzyme group ) , sor-ghum diet+probiotics ( sorghum+probiotics group) and sorghum diet+compound enzyme diet+probiotics ( sor-ghum+compound enzyme+probiotics group) , respectively. The experiment lasted for 56 days, and divided in-to two stages of early stage ( 1 to 28 days of age) and later stage ( 29 to 56 days of age) . At the end of experi-ment, the growth performance, serum antioxidant indexes and intestinal morphology of broilers were evaluated. The results showed as follows:1) at the early stage, the average daily feed intake ( ADFI) and feed to gain ratio ( F/G) of broilers in experimental groups were significantly lower than those in control group ( P<0.05) . At the later stage and the whole stage ( 1 to 56 days of age) , the ADFI and the average daily gain ( ADG) of broilers in experimental groups ( except sorghum+compound enzyme group ) were significantly lower than those in control group ( P<0.05) . 2) Compared with the control group, the serum total superoxide dismutase ( T-SOD) activity of broilers at 28 days of age in sorghum group was significantly decreased ( P<0.05) , and no significant difference was observed among the rest groups ( P>0.05) . At 56 days of age, there were no sig-nificant differences on serum antioxidant indexes of broilers among all groups (P>0.05). 3) At 28 days of age, the villus height and villus height/crypt depth ( V/C) value in duodenum of broilers experimental groups ( except sorghum group) were significantly higher than those in control group ( P<0.05) . At 56 days of age, there were no significant differences on villus height, villus height and V/C value in duodenum, jejunum and ileum of broilers among all groups ( P>0.05) . In conclusion, sorghum instead of corn in the diet significantly reduce the growth performance of Liangfenghua broilers, and added compound enzyme in the sorghum diet can obtaine the similar growth performance compared the control group, the sorghum diet supplemented with com-pound enzyme and probiotics have no adverse effects on intestinal morphologic structure and serum antioxidant indexes.
This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of compound enzyme preparation and probi-otics supplementation in sorghum diets on the slaughter performance, meet quality, apparent metabolic energy ( AME) and major nutrient digestibility of broilers. A total of 900 healthy 1-day-old Liangfenghua broilers with the nearly same weight were randomly selected and allocated to 5 groups of control group, sorghum group, sorghum+compound enzyme preparation group, sorghum+probiotics group and sorghum+compound enzyme preparation+probiotics group. Each group contained 6 replicates and 30 broilers per replicate. The experiment period was 68 days, which divided into three stages of early ( 1 to 28 days of age) , late ( 29 to 56 days of age) and digestibility experiment ( 57 to 68 days of age) . The sorghum was the substitute for about 30% corn and compound enzyme preparation supplemental level was 200 g/t in the experimental groups in early period;the sorghum was the substitute for about 50% corn and compound enzyme preparation supplemental level was 300 g/t in the experimental groups in late period;and the probiotics supplemental level was 100 g/t in the ex-perimental groups in whole period. The results showed as follows:1) compared with the control group, the ap-parent digestibility of crude fiber ( CF) in the sorghum+compound enzyme preparation group and the sorghum+compound enzyme preparation+probiotics group was significantly increased (P<0.05), and the AME and other nutrient apparent metabolic rates in experimental groups had no significant difference ( P>0. 05 ) . 2 ) Compared with the control group, the percentage of half-eviscerated yield of broilers in the sorghum+probiotics group and the sorghum+compound enzyme preparation+probiotics group was significantly increased ( P<0.05) . There were no significant differences in the other indicators of slaughter performance among different groups ( P>0.05) . 3) Compared with the control group, the lightness ( L?) value of chest muscle of broilers in the sorghum+compound enzyme preparation+probiotics group was significantly increased (P<0.05), and the redness ( a?) value of leg muscle of broilers in all experimental groups was significantly decreased ( P<0.05) . In conclusion, the addition of compound enzyme preparation and probiotics in sorghum diets can im-prove the apparent digestibility of CF, and has no adverse effects on slaughter performance and meat quality of broiler.
