Objectives:Obesity leads to severe health issues like cardiovascular disease. Natural substances with anti-obesity properties are gaining attention. This study investigates the impact of taurine on lipid levels in rats fed a high-fat diet. Materials and Methods:The SD rats were fed a high-fat diet and treated with or without taurine for 21 weeks. Taurine was added to their drinking water, and an adipose triglyceride lipase (ATGL) inhibitor was injected for one week. The study evaluated the impact of taurine supplementation on the rats' body weight, Lee index, body fat content, serum levels of triglycerides (TG), total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C), high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C), fatty acid synthase (FAS), ATGL, and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor α (PPARα) in the liver. Fat accumulation in the liver and aortic arch was assessed through histopathological observations. Results:The study found that taurine reduced body weight, body fat, serum TG, TC, LDL-C levels, and lipid deposition in the liver and aortic arch while increasing serum HDL-C levels. Taurine intake also increased FAS and ATGL expression in the liver. Interestingly, the ATGL inhibitor atglistatin did not affect FAS and ATGL expression in the presence of taurine. Conclusion:Taurine can reduce fat deposition caused by a high-fat diet in SD rats by decreasing FAS content and increasing ATGL content. However, taurine does not fully regulate FAS and ATGL expression through the ATGL pathway.
目的 探讨益生菌/草本提取物复方的清咽作用.方法 大鼠灌胃给予益生菌和/或草本提取物45 d,依据2012修订的保健食品“清咽功能检验方法”进行大鼠棉球植入实验、大鼠足趾肿胀实验及小鼠耳肿胀实验.结果 棉球植入实验中,益生菌高剂量、草本中剂量和高剂量、益生菌低剂量+草本中剂量、益生菌低剂量+草本高剂量、益生菌高剂量+低/中/高剂量草本剂量组,大鼠肉芽肿净量显著低于对照组(P<0.05),具有干预肉芽肿(慢性炎症)形成的作用;足趾肿胀实验中,致炎1h后,草本高剂量组大鼠足趾肿胀率显著降低(P<0.05),致炎1、2、6h后,益生菌高剂量+草本高剂量组足趾肿胀率均显著低于对照组(P<0.05)且低于益生菌高剂量组和草本高剂量组,提示益生菌草本高剂量复方干预致炎剂诱发的足趾肿胀作用效果优于单独给予高剂量益生菌或高剂量草本;小鼠耳廓肿胀实验中,各组耳廓肿胀值及肿胀率均无显著变化.结论 高剂量草本和益生菌草本高剂量复方样品具有清咽作用,且益生菌草本高剂量复方干预致炎剂诱导的急性炎症效果优于高剂量草本.
To study the lipid-lowering and anti-oxidative effects of curcumin on Caenorhabditis elegans,C.elegans in L1 period were exposed to the different concentrations of curcumin(12.5,25,50 and 100 μmol/L)for 48 h.Oil red O stained nematode intestinal fat,the activities of T-SOD,the contents of MDA and triglyceride in C.elegans were measured.Results showed that compared with DMSO control group,curcumin could reduce intestinal fat in C.elegans at 25 μmol/L or more (p < 0.05),curcumin could reduce intestinal fat significantly at 50 μmol/L or more (p < 0.01),with the increasing of curcumin concentration,the content of intestinal fat decreased gradually.Curcumin could reduce the contents of triglyceride and MDA in C.elegans significantly at 25 μmol/L or more (p < 0.01).Curcumin could increase the activities of T-SOD in C.elegans significantly at 50 μmol/L or more(p < 0.01).In summary,curcumin had lipid-lowering and antioxidant protection effects at 25 μmol/L or more.
Excessive deposition of fat can cause chronic diseases such as hyperlipidemia,cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and diabetes.Caenorhabditis elegans has the advantages of simple structure,transparent body,convenient observation,short development cycle,easy cultivation and the highly conserved signaling pathway,which make possible research on fat regulation of Caenorbabditis elegans.This paper introduces the advantage of Caenorhabditis elegans as a model organism for studying fat metabolism,reviews the recent studies on the bioactive substances with lipid-lowering function,and summarizes the lipid metabolism in Caenorhabditis elegans and application of Caenorhabditis elegans in lipid metabolism,which provide an important basis for the study of lipid-lowering drugs and the study of metabolic disorders such as obesity.
Objective:To study the influence of DBP on lifespan,reproductive toxicity and neurotoxicity in Caenorhabditis elegans.Methods:L2 C.elegans were expoused to the DBP concentration of 32.5,131,522 mg/L.Then nematode longevity,reproductive capacity,mobility and frequency of swallowing were measured.Results:The life span was shorten,reproductive,frequency of swallowing and mobile ability were reduced in Caenorhabditis elegans due to DBP expose in a concentrationdependent manner.Conclusion:DBP induce reproductive toxicity and neurotoxicity in Caenorhabditis elegans,at the same time,it can shorten the lifespan of C.elegans.
目的 延长火龙果在常温(25±1)℃条件下的货架期.方法 使用智能缓释杀菌薄膜和高透气性硅窗薄膜制备多功能集成保鲜袋(AP),并对新鲜火龙果进行保鲜实验.通过对保鲜袋的顶空气体组成、火龙果的硬度、总可溶性固形物含量、可滴定酸(TA)含量和维生素C含量的测定,研究AP多功能集成保鲜膜对火龙果的保鲜效果.结果 在常温下,裸放火龙果的货架期为6d,而AP多功能集成保鲜袋内火龙果的货架期可以延长4d,并且可以较好地保持火龙果的品质.结论 AP膜可有效减缓硬度的降低及水分损失,同时可溶性固含量和总酸值均高于对照组.
