Objective To study the association between single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) ofrs11833579/rs12425791 in Ninjurin 2 (NINJ2) gene and risk ofischemic stroke in Chinese Han population.Methods PubMed,CBM,The Cochrane Library,CNKI,CBM,VIP and Wanfang Data were searched from inception to August 2016 to collect case-control studies about SNPs of rs11833579/rs12425791 in NINJ2 gene and risk ofischemic stroke in Chinese Han population.Then,Meta-analysis was performed using Stata 12.0 software to extract the data and assess the risk of bias of included studies.This Meta analysis revealed the association between SNPs ofrs11833579/rs12425791 and ischemic stroke.Results Eleven independent publications,including 6125 cases and 6067 controls for rs1183379,and 5989 cases and 6145 controls for rs12425791,were chosen.Overall,large artery atherosclerotic ischemic stroke risk was associated with rs11833579 A allele when all studies were pooled into the Meta-analysis [AA/(GA+GG):OR=1.594,95%CI:1.155-2.201,P=0.05;AA/GG:OR=1.731,95%CI:1.240-2.416,P=0.001].However,rs12425791 was not associated with increased stroke risk in any genetic models.No publication bias was found in our Meta-analysis by Egger's and Begg's test.Sensitivity analysis confirmed the stability of results.Conclusion The rs11833579 SNPs may be a susceptibility marker of large artery atherosclerotic of ischemic stroke in Chinese Han population and further studies are warranted to verify this association.
Objective To investigate the effect of Rhubarb on brain dysfunction in septic rats. Methods A total of 84 Wistar male rats were randomly divided into three groups( n=28 each) , sham operation group(Sham), cecal ligation and puncture group(CLP), Rhubarb+ CLP group(R+CLP). Every group was then divided into two subgroups(A and B). Female rats were gavaged daily(1 mL/100 g body weight) with Rhubarb for three days. The same dose of saline was used in the control groups. Septic rat model was established by CLP. Survival rate was monitored in A groups, 10 days totally. In B groups, animals were euthanized at 12, 24 and 48 hours after CLP. Wet -dry weighting method was used to detect the brain water content ( BWC ) . The ELISA method was employed to determine the concentrations of plasma S100β, neuron -specific enolase ( NSE ) and the protein expression levels of brain tissue NF-κB, IL -6 and TNF -α. Then Hematoxylin and Eosin(HE)staining was used to detect brain pathologic change. Immunohistochemical SP method was applied to count the number of AQP-4 positive glial cells in brain tissues. Results ①The BWC values of the CLP and R +CLP group at all time points were significantly higher than those of the sham group at the same periods( P<0. 05), and which was lower in R+CLP group than that in CLP group at 6 h after CLP(P<0. 05).②CLP and R+CLP groups brain tissue levels of NF -κB, IL -6, and TNF -α were significantly increased compared with Sham group at each moment after CLP(P<0. 05), and R+CLP group brain tissue levels of NF-κB, IL-6, and TNF-α were also significantly lower than the CLP group at 24 h after CLP(P<0. 05). ③Compared with Sham group, the concentrations of plasma S100β, NSE were notably increased after CLP at each moment(P <0. 05), and which were significantly reversed by treatment with Rhubarb at 24 h after CLP ( P < 0. 05 ). ④Brain tissue HE staining showed the pathological damage were lightest in the sham group, however, the pathological damage in the CLP group was the most serious degree, and compared with the CLP group, the pathological damage was significantly decreased in the R +CLP group at 6 h after CLP(P <0. 05). ⑤The AQP -4 positive gliacyte cells in brain tissues in the CLP group were more than those in the sham group at each time( P<0. 05), but were significantly fewer than those in the CLP group at 6 h after CLP(P<0. 05). There was a significantly positive correlation between AQP-4 expression and brain water content( r=0. 895, P<0. 05). ⑥Rhubarb could prevented mortality in septic rats. Conclusion Rhubarb can inhibit the expressions of IL-6, and TNF-αproteins in rats with sepsis by inhibiting NF-κB signaling pathway, and ameliorate the CLP-induced brain tissue edema by down-regulating the expression of the brain gliacyte AQP-4.

Tuberculosis (TB) is still the major infectious diseases which cause serious damage to the human health,since application specification and development of anti-TB drugs,human tuberculosis morbidity and mortality have dropped to the lowest ever,even some people say that TB will be extinct as smallpox.Since the 1980s,with the growth of drug-resistant mycobacterium tuberculosis,originally lower tuberculosis epidemic in developed countries and heavier in developing countries,are obviously improved and showing a worsening trend.Especially multi-drug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) and the increasing of the tuberculosis cases with human immune virus (HIV),making the treatment of anti-tuberculosis to meet the challenge.Bone and joint TB is the highest incidence of extra pulmonary tuberculosis except for lymphoid tuberculosis,and spinal tuberculosis has more than 50% of total bone and joint tuberculosis,which will cause serious disability and sequelae,seriously affect the life and quality of patients.Throughout the history,there are a lot of domestic and foreign scholars studying pulmonary tuberculosis,but few research of bone and joint tuberculosis.Bone and joint tuberculosis mainly through local blood vessels injection and local drilling plant mycobacterium tuberculosis to build,but mycobacterium tuberculosis mainly in the aerobic environment grow well.The construction of bone and joint tuberculosis mainly in oxygen and even less anaerobic environment,so a large part of the experimental animals after planting mycobacterium tuberculosis tuberculosis are forming pulmonary tuberculosis by the circulation of the blood,which lead to high rate of animal' s mortality and low success rate.Given the huge damage that bone and joint tuberculosis to patients and low success rate of animal model,there' s an urgent need to choose a suitable animal model in order to establish a solid foundation for treatment and research of bone and joint tuberculosis.In this paper,by selecting different animal summarized the advantages and disadvantages of bone and joint TB model.
