This study aimed to investigate the energy supply of athletes, who had a mild form of coronavirus infection (COVID-19) under cycling ergometric load (CEL) to substantiate the timing of recovery, as well as to determine the volume and intensity of physical activity. Eighty-seven athletes aged from 18 to 28 years old, involved in cyclic sports, were examined. Group I consisted of 52 athletes with COVID-19, and group II consisted of 37 healthy self-isolating athletes. In addition to the comprehensive examination, the tested athletes underwent special examinations: the study of diagnostic material using methods of nucleic acid amplification, spirography and spiroergometry, electrocardiography (ECG), and CEL. The results of athletes from both groups did not differ significantly (p > 0.5) in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd examinations. The second examination revealed a discrepancy between functional reserves and the load performed, as evidenced by the difference in the recovery rate of most indicators, the results of the third examination in the long-term period (6 months) showed that the athletes of the first group did not have any violations of the parameters of the respiratory function (RF) and cardiovascular system at rest, after performing CEL, as well as in the recovery period. The results suggest that the full resumption of training loads and participation in competitions are possible only with the complete normalization of the functional state of the cardiorespiratory system. The most informative indicators are: minute ventilation (VE), heart rate (HR), oxygen pulse (OP), and coefficient of oxygen utilization (COU).
Purpose: To study the application of low-intensity physical veloergometric loads according to a special method in the system of rehabilitation of coronary heart disease patients (CHD) after coronary bypass (CB) at the hospital stage. Materials and Methods: We examined 84 patients (men) with CHD who underwent CB surgery: main group (n=52), the average age of 48.4 ± 0.8 years, the control group (n=32), the average age of 47.9 ± 1.11. All patients of the main group underwent exercises on a bicycle ergometer. The control group underwent rehabilitation without training but with a complex of therapeutic exercises. The following indicators are evaluated: the power of the threshold load in watt, Double product (DP), electrocardiography (ECG), heart rate (HR), respiratory rate (RR), blood pressure (BP). Results: Training sessions on a bicycle ergometer, according to a special technique, can be carried out as a method of rehabilitation at the stationary stage, rehabilitation center, at home. The best is the effect of training in the group of patients involved in the clinic before surgery and immediately after surgery with continued classes for a year. Conclusions: Analysis of the remote results shows that the use of physical training on this method makes it possible to improve the function of the myocardium and improve the prognosis of the disease.
Background:Many authors have noted the lack of knowledge on the causal relationship between the degree of physical activity, the dynamics, and outcomes of diseases, as well as the influence of sports history on the rehabilitation potential of former athletes.Purpose:Assessment of the functional state of the cardiovascular system according to the indicators of electrocardiography, polycardiography, echocardiography and the level of physical performance in masters athletes.Patients and Methods:The study included a main group consisting of 100 athletes, who had undergone electrocardiography, poly-electrocardiography, ultrasound echocardiography, heart rate and blood pressure measurement to determine their level of physical performance. The subjects were then divided into 2 groups. The first group included 75 people who continue to be active in regular sports activities. The second group consisted of 25 people who completely stopped training or had only occasional, unsystematic physical activities. A control group of 31 people, consisting of people of the same age who had not been involved in sports earlier, was examined according to the same program.Results:The data obtained by us show that sports activities do contribute to the increasing stability of the body and maximize the deployment of the capabilities of the circulatory system, including their long-term preservation in masters athletic. Athletes who have stopped training have signs of age-related changes in the heart and blood vessels, which seem to be more frequent and earlier than those who continue training. A higher degree of myocardial contractility (in 90.67% of cases) can also be seen in the main group.Conclusion:Masters athletes and those who stopped training after completing their sports career, should have notably thorough medical supervision and undergo regular annual in-depth examination.
Objective : to evaluate the role of physical activity (at sports games) in improving the quality of life of organ recipients. Materials and methods . We examined 42 adult lung, heart, kidney and liver recipients, and patients undergoing renal replacement therapy (mean age 42.6 ± 12.09 years) - participants of the First Russian Transplant Games. The results were analyzed. Quality of life of the recipients was assessed using the nonspecific SF-36 questionnaire. Results. After solid organ transplantation, the interviewed recipients answered that they try to lead an active lifestyle, to engage in accessible physical activities, and to participate in sports events intended for organ recipients. Assessment of the quality of life according to the SF-36 questionnaire showed that all the participants had high scores in terms of the physical and psychological component, which is associated with regular physical training and sports. Conclusion. Physical exercise and active participation in sports activities are an important component in the socialization and rehabilitation of organ recipients. These two factors also improve the psychological and physical components of the quality of life of the recipients.
The paper analyzes the literature on physical rehabilitation in transplantology. The medical and social aspects of rehabilitation and peculiarities of physical rehabilitation in child organ recipients are reflected. A rise in the number of organ recipients, including children, is noted. The role of physical rehabilitation in increasing the body’s adaptive reserves at the pre- and postoperative stage and improving the quality of life is described.
The purpose of this investigation was to assess the acute effects of partial range of motion (pROM) exercises, on the accuracy of soccer penalty kicks on goal. This method limits the joint from moving through the complete length of a motion, creates an occlusion effect, and thus causes the type 1 muscle fibers to work anaerobically. Thirty-six soccer players, with 5-8 years of soccer playing experience, were pretested for accuracy then retested ( rtt = 0.92 ) and divided into random groups from the Associação Banco do Brasil Futebol Clube—Group A, Paraná Futebol Clube—Group P, and Coritiba Futebol Clube—Group C. Groups were composed of 12 people performing full range of motion (fROM) exercises or pROM exercises. Both groups performed 5 sets of back squats at 50% of body weight in sets of 40 seconds with metronome tempo of 56 bpm for an average of 10-12 repetitions per 40-second set. Blood samples were collected post-warm-up, after the 3rd set, and following the 5th set for both groups, within 3–5 minutes of cessation of exercise. Athletes performing fROM exercises showed increased blood lactate from 2.69 ± 0.2 to 4.0 ± 1.2 mmol/L ( p < 0.05 ), and in pROM, blood lactate increased from 2.48 ± 0.42 to 10.29 ± 1.3 mmol/L ( p < 0.001 ). In fROM, accuracy decreased from 42.96 ± 13.39 % to 41.37 ± 17.25 % ( p > 0.1 ), a slight decrease, while in the pROM groups, accuracy decreased from 45.42 ± 14.93 % to 24.53 ± 10.2 % ( p < 0.001 ). The calculations demonstrating average percentages of accuracy are presented in the tables. These findings support that pROM exercises significantly increase blood lactate resulting in a reduction in soccer kick accuracy. This decrease in accuracy directly correlates to the accumulation of lactic acid and hydrogen ions (H+) and demonstrates that pROM strength training should not be utilized prior to a sport-specific session in order to avoid interference with the development of special skills.
Aim: the paper aims to analyze the new conditions of student self-isolation associated with the Covid-19 epidemic. Materials and methods. The paper is based on the theoretical analysis of domestic and foreign publications in the field of education with the use of information technologies over the past ten years and statistical data about morbidity and mortality of chronic non-communicable diseases (CNID) in Russia for the same period. Results. The features of distance learning are considered. The role of risk fac-tors in the development of CNID, including cardiovascular diseases, is indicated. Conclusions are drawn about the negative impact of the so-called "home schooling" on the health of university students, and op-tions are proposed to combat them and prevent the development of CNID with the use of information tech-nologies. Conclusion. The use of innovative methods for teaching physical education in universities (tele -medicine, Internet) will make it possible to attract more students to a healthy lifestyle (HLS) and develop their sports skills.
Objectives: Symptoms associated with spinal disk herniation may heal without surgery. In some patients, imaging reveals a reduction in hernia size, too. This phenomenon is referred to as spontaneous regression of the herniated disk. It was first reported in 1984 and is widely covered in today’s research papers. Case Presentation: This paper describes a case of spontaneous regression of lumbar disk herniation at L5-S1, where another disk was herniated at L4-L5 after only 8 months. The patient (F) sought help complaining of pain in the lumbar region. An MRI scan revealed a 6.2-mm hernia at L5-S1. The patient was prescribed conservative treatment comprising non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and kinesitherapy, to which she refused to adhere and decided to treat the condition on her own. Eight months later, the patient sought help again, reporting other symptoms of pronounced constant pain in the rear lateral surface of the left leg and lameness. A further MRI scan revealed spontaneous hernia resorption at L5-S1 with an emergent vacuum phenomenon and a different disk herniated at L4-L5 to 9.4 mm. Discussion: Since the symptoms were pronounced and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs did not have a therapeutic effect, the patient required surgery.
Experimental studies LHT 51-93 and LHT 52-93, the derivatives of arylalkanes, in rats were performed on the model of coronary-occluded myocardial infarction. Findings of studies would allow to suppose the cardioprotective action of LHT 51-93 and LHT 52-93. LHT 51-93 and LHT 52-93, the derivatives of arylalkanes, have promoted the keeping of myocardial functional reserves in the experimental occlusion of coronary arteries and hypoxia-reperfusion state.
