Relevance. Allergic pathology in particular, a hay fever, can lead to decrease in cognitive functions at children. Earlier it was established that antihistamine preparations of I generation influence cognitive functions of patients. Т he patients with this nosology receive for a longtime courses of antihistamine preparations of II generation, so the analysis of influence of different AH preparations of II generation on cognitive activity of children with a hay fever is necessary. P urpose . Studying of influence of II generation antihistamine preparations in a complex with the specific allergen immunotherapy on cognitive functions at children with a hay fever. Patients and methods. Using the psychophysiological computer complex «Psihomat» the condition of cognitive functions was established. In total the 81 child with a hey fever were investigated. The persons under consideration were divided on subgroups depending on antihistamine which they received. For the patients in the main group of investigation the cognitive functions have been studied in 3 points. Results. The patients had changes in the attention and psychomotor activity more often, than in other conitive activity. It is not obtained distinct data on characteristic contribution of antihistamine preparations of a second generation in improvement of cognitive activity as a whole at complex treatment of hay fever with specific allergen immunotherapy. Antihistamine preparations (desloratidine and cetirizine) are improved by indexes of visual and space perception at children with a hay fever. From the 3 antihistamine preparations the cetirizine has the most carried out positive effect concerning the psiho-motoric activity in the combined ASIT. Conclusion. Padding express researches in the field are necessary for receiving the definite answers to problem questions.

The article is dedicated to allergic rhinitis (AR) in children. AR is widespread among children and adolescents; it negatively affects physical and psychological condition, social life and school performance and reduces life quality of both patients and members of their families. The authors consider the most modern approaches to diagnostics and control over the disease and present evidence-based recommendations. The authors offer the relevant classification; describe classic and additional disease symptoms and list the key nosological forms of differential diagnostic search. The complex of therapeutic measures to be taken at AR is aimed at relieving devastating symptoms of the disease and involves limitation of contacts with pathogenetically significant allergens, drug therapy, specific immunotherapy and education. Preventive measures are aimed at preventing development of sensitization/manifestation/aggravation of the AR course. The information given in the article is aimed at spreading the main principles of AR therapy and increasing accessibility of the modern methods of control over allergic diseases. Due to the prevalence of allergic disease remains an urgent problem of atopy. Genetic factors play an important role in increasing the incidence, but we can not forget about the Еnvironmental risk factors. The epigenetics explains the hereditary modifications of gene activity without changes in DNA sequence (for example, histone modifications, DNA methylation and chromatin's architectonic changes). Study of biomechanics and airway remodeling in asthma causes remain one of the most actual at present. A special category of patients with asthma young children requires special attention due to the anatomical, phenotypic, and emotional specifics. Selection of the basic treatment for such patients should be aimed for maximizing the effective deposition of the drug.
The steady increase in the prevalence of allergic diseases causes the social significance of this pathology. These statistics often do not reflect the true morbidity picture. The social and economic burden of allergy forces experts to seek new ways of preventing the beginnings and development of this pathology. The relationship between bronchiolitis caused by respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection in the early childhood and further development of asthma was proved by numerous randomized trials. The use of the drug for RSV monoclonal antibodies will reduce not only the incidence of the infection, prevent the development of bronchiolitis, but reduce the risk of asthma in early childhood. The results were obtained by two centres in Russia (Moscow and Tomsk) as part of the international epidemiological study under the GA 2 LEN programme. The total number of polled adolescents aged 15 to 18 was 12,803 with 2014 subjects, included in the statistical analysis (1004 subjects in Moscow, and 1010 in Tomsk). The male subjects accounted for 44.6% and female subjects for 55.4%. The age was 15.48±0.02 years. The cumulative disease incidence was determined as a totality of all the disease cases registered during the past year and in the previous follow-up period. Prevalence is the registered disease cases in which primary visits took place during the calendar year. The cumulative allergic rhinitis (AR) incidence totaled 34.2%, which significantly exceeds official statistics. The female subjects indicated much more often the presence of AR compared to the male subjects (37.35% and 30.42% respectively at p=0,044). The symptoms of the ongoing AR were found in 86.45% of the total respondents who had indicated the cumulative rhinitis incidence. The follow-up results indicate significant variance from the official statistics (in 2008, the official AR incidence in Moscow was 599.2 per 100,000). The percentage of the female subjects with AR symptoms, however, was reliably higher than that in Moscow (p=0.042), with the cumulative rhinitis incidence registered more often compared with the ongoing AR both for the entire population and for Moscow (at p=0.0125 and p=0.026 respectively). Prevalence of symptoms for allergic rhinitis was significantly higher than the diagnosed disease forms. The data obtained using standardised tools will help optimise the existing programmes for preventing and diagnosing allergic rhinitis.
Cough is one of the most frequent reasons parents take their child to a doctor. Most frequently it develops against the backdrop of respiratory infections of viral, mixed viral-bacterial and bacterial aetiology. Currently the issue of applying efficient and at the same time safe medications for acute respiratory infections in young children is quite pressing. The article provides data from studies in which a complex plant drug is administered in children with respiratory infections. The results obtained indicate the efficacy of including herbal syrup in the therapy for children with acute respirator infections. The medication lowers the intensity of the cough providing a soft expectorant and spasmolytic effect, and reduces medicinal burden on the child’s system. Coughing is the most frequent symptom that accompanies diseases of the bronchopulmonary system. However, it may develop in a number of diseases that vary in its pathogenesis and location. Despite the variety of potential causes, in most cases acute respiratory infections (ARIs) play the key role in the etyology of coughing. Key methods of therapy for coughing in ARIs include efforts to improve the bronchial drainage function, restore mucociliary clearance, antiinflammation and, if necessary, broncholytic therapy. However, if coughing disrupts the well-being and condition of a patient (non-productive, short, compulsive, vomitory, chest pain causing, sleep and appetite disturbing), cough suppressive medications are administered. To this end, combined preparations containing codeine are successfully used in pediatric practice. Key words: coughing, combined antitussive preparations, children. Over the recent years, standardised epidemiological studies of asthma and asthma'like symptoms in the population of children have been conducted. ISAAC (International Study of Asthma and Allergy in Childhood) questionnaire has been predominantly used as a tool to assess the prevalence of clinical implications and diagnosed conditions in children. However, this technique has limitations in terms of subject age (children aged 6–7 and 13–14). We have conducted a study on the prevalence of Asthma and allergy in adolescents (children aged 15–17) using the standardised GA2LEN (Global Allergy and Asthma European Network) questionnaire in two Russian cities from central region and Siberia (Moscow and Tomsk). It has been found that the prevalence of asthma'like symptoms in adolescents was three times the level of clinically diagnosed asthma, which accounted for no more than 7%, with this indicator having no variance depending on the region of residence. THE PAPER PRESENTS THE RESULTS BASED ON THE EXPERIENCE OF PAN-TOHAM (HOPANTENIC ACID) APPLICATION, IN TREATMENT OF 21 PATIENTS AGED 7-8 YEARS, SUFFERING FROM BENIGN CHILDHOOD EPILEPSY WITH CENTRO-TEMPORAL SPIKES (ROLANDIC EPILEPSY), ACCOMPANIED WITH IMPAIRMENTS OF COGNITIVE FUNCTIONS (CF). UTILISING THE COMPUTER TESTING SYSTEMS, BASIC CF PARAMETERS WERE ANALYZED BEFORE AND AFTER THE COURSE OF PANTOHAM TREATMENT AS AN ADD-ON TREATMENT TO BASIC ANTIEPILEPTIC THERAPY. STATISTICALLY RELEVANT POSITIVE EFFECT OF THE MEDICINE ON CF PARAMETERS WAS DEMONSTRATED. THE AUTHORS HIGHLY ESTIMATE THE CLINICAL EFFICACY OF THE MEDICATION UNDER STUDY. BASIC PHARMACOLOGICAL AND PHARMACOKINETIC PROPERTIES OF HOPANTENIC ACID ARE DESCRIBED.
