The provocation broncho-constricting tests are largely applied all over the world with the purpose of diagnostic and differentiated diagnostic of bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive disease of lungs and control of effectiveness of applied therapy. The review presents actual data concerning application of provocation tests in pulmonology.
The asymptomatic increase of level of enzymes of pancreas often results in such incorrect diagnosis as chronic pancreatitis and in prescription of unnecessary treatment. Meanwhile, in many similar cases hyperenzymemia has a benevolent nature. The article discusses possible causes of pancreatic hyperenzymemia in healthy persons. The algorithm of diagnostic search in this clinical situation is proposed.
Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) is the commonest infectious disease characterized by the high lethality rate. The aim of this work was to estimate the efficacy of introducing inhalation of heated oxygen-helium mixture (thermoheliox) into standard therapy of CAP. The study included 50 patients with moderately severe CAP. 25 patients of group 1 were given standard therapy plus thermoheliox, those of group 2 were treated by standard method. Group 1 showed faster disappearance of symptoms and physical signs including inflammatory changes (chemiluminescence of whole blood) and cardiac rhythm variability as well as more complete recovery of pneumonia upon X-ray examination. It is concluded that thermoheliox is an effective agent for pathogenetic therapy of community-acquired pneumonia
The article presents the results of study assessing the effectiveness of course of inhalations with heating oxygen-helium mixture (heliox) in complex treatment of patients with community-acquired pneumonia. The heliox supports the restoration of damaged bronchial patency, enhances blood circulation, ventilation and pulmonary gas exchange in lungs. Hence, the preparation can impact on the important components of pathogenesis of pneumonia. The main group (standard therapy combined with course of inhalations with heating heliox) characterized with more promptly disappearing clinical symptoms of pneumonia, more complete roentgenologic resolution and earlier normalization of intensity of chemiluminescence of whole blood. All these processes reflect the rapid reduction of inflammatory process. Therefore, the inclusion of inhalations with heating heliox into complex therapy enhances the effectiveness of treatment of patients with community-acquired pneumonia.

The examined sample consisted of 80 patients with bronchial asthma of moderate and severy degree at exacerbation phase of disease. The complex treatment with thermogeliox was applied to 40 patients of main group. The single session of combined application of thermogeliox and nebulizer therapy to patients with bronchial asthma reliably improves the bronchial patency and results in significantly increases saturation of blood with oxygen in patients with bronchial asthma of severe degree. The complex treatment with thermogeliox of patients with bronchial asthma of moderate and seveiy degree contributes to more evident improvement of clinical picture of disease as compared with standard treatment: reliable decrease of attacks of suffocation and stertor, relief of cough and dyspnea, improvement of indicators of pulmonary ventilation with reliable decrease of intensity of bronchial obstruction, significant increase of partial tension of blood oxygen and blood oxygenation. The highest effectiveness of complex treatment is noted in patients with severe form of bronchial asthma. Besides, a significant improvement of quality of life occurs against the background of tangible improvement of clinical functional indicators. The study results demonstrate the expedience of widespread application of thermogeliox combined with the nebulizer therapy for the purpose of increasing the effectiveness of rehabilitation treatment of patients with bronchial asthma.
