The aim of the investigation is to assess clinical effect of local (intra-articular) application of autologous platelet-enriched plasma (PEP) in treating gonarthrosis. Materials and methods. Clinical observation of 83 women with gonarthrosis was performed within 3 months. Within 3 weeks the patients were receiving PEP intra-articular injections of 5 ml twice a week. Results. In intra-articular PEP administration in patients with gonarthrosis, the change of knee joint functional state occurs depending on the severity of osteoarthrosis, the most significant change in the early stage and almost absent change in severe diseases (complicated by synovitis). In typical gonarthrosis of II-III radiological stages, the positive effect is short-term and observed in early one-month observation period.
The results of a comparative study of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and glucocorticosteroids (GCS) for local treatment of greater trochanteric pain syndrome (GTPS) are presented. 40 patients with GTPS were randomized into groups of 20 persons. The condition of patients was analyzed on a scale of pain during the day (VAS) and index WOMAC. 40 women with GTPS at six months of observation show that the local injections of PRP is superior to therapy with corticosteroids. The data of the study allow to expand the scope of the PRP and the first to recommend this therapy for GTPS. Local PRP therapy is distinguished by the absence of undesirable reactions, and high efficiency in GTPS exceeding the glucocorticosteroids.
The efficiency of the local therapy of osteoarthritis knee of glucocorticosteroids on the power of quadriceps femoris were studied. It was established that the effectiveness of local treatment of OA is higher in patients with moderate weakness of thigh.
The local therapy with platelet-rich plasma is more effective treatment than injections with glucocorticoids in patients of hip osteoarthritis with enthesopathy during the 12 weeks.
In examination comparison of efficiency and safety of local therapy by a hyaluronic acid (HA) specimen and Autologous Conditioned Serum (ACS) is spent. The obtained data testify to the plus clinical effect of intraarticulate introduction ACS surpassing efficiency HA without essential side effects.
