Geographical distribution of bryophytes included in the Red Data Book of the Russian Federation is discussed. The quantitative composition and ecological characteristics of rare and threatened species of bryophytes are analyzed by categories of rarity status. Several centers of species concentration for protected bryophytes are identified within the territory of Russia. It is shown that 34% of all federally protected species are localized in the Primorsky Krai. The percentage of protected bryophytes in the bryophyte diversity of biomes was determined using the geoinformation analysis. This indicator varies from 0 to 3,25% in Russia. The area of regions with a higher proportion of protected species is less than 2% of the territory of Russia. The protected species of bryophytes were not found within 40% of the national territory.
The article is devoted to the problem of reducing the risk of loss of soil diversity in the Russian Federation. The methods of quantitative assessment of the degree of soil degradation are considered. The discussion points of compiling the Red Book of Soil and its difference from the Red Book of plants and animals are analyzed. The main way to preserve the diversity of natural soils is to ensure the representativeness of the system of specially protected natural areas (PA). The representation of soil diversity in the modern network of PA in Russia is estimated (about 56 %). Prevention of soil loss is presented in the form of a triad: a quantitative assessment of the degree of soil degradation, the introduction of endangered natural soils in the Red Books (lists) and the development of proposals for the organization of new PA with the inclusion of “Red Book” soils. Topical issues are the problems of preserving soil diversity in significantly anthropogenically altered regions, as well as determining the minimum area of a protected site that is necessary and sufficient to preserve virgin soil as a specific taxonomic unit.
Aim. Analysis of results of epidemiologic monitoring of especially dangerous, natural-foci and other infectious diseases, as well as epizootologic activity of natural foci of infection on the territory of city-resort Sochi. Materials and methods. Laboratory studies of 820 samples by PCR, immune- and bacteriologic methods were carried out, among those 344 - clinical material, 12 - water from open bodies and 321 - field material. Molecular-genetic identification of 143 strains of Vibrio cholerae, isolated from open water bodies of city-resort Sochi, was carried out. Results. Circulation of causative agents of Q fever, tularemia and hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome of Dobrava-Adler genotypes was established, as well as rickettsia of tick spotted fever group. Predomination of rotaviruses (70.9%) was detected during study of samples of clinical material in etiologic structure of sporadically emerging acute intestine infections. Relatively high temperature values of river water during summer months (from 18 to 30°C), exit of sulfide mineral waters into the riverbed, that create alkaline medium, seasonal reduction of river debit and speed of water current facilitated sustenance of contamination of water of Agura river by V. cholerae. Conclusion. Activity of natural foci of the infectious disease and contamination of Agura river by V. cholerae 01 (atoxigenic) gives evidence on the necessity of constant control of epidemiologic situation by dangerous and natural-foci infectious diseases on the territory of city-resort Sochi, as well as study regional features of their causative agents, including using genetic methods.
