Abstract. 72 patients and 30 healthy children of the age of 7-17 years were examined, aiming for substantiation of thymaline, vilon and ventramine application in treatment of chronic gastroduodenitis in children. Disbalance of cellular and humoral immunity and reduction of intensity of lymphocyte-platelet adhesions were established. An increase of IL-1β, IL-2, TNFα and IFNα concentration was registered in absence of IL-4 changes. Application of thymaline, vilon and ventramine essentially improves clinical course of disease, results in normalization of immune profile, reduced levels of proimflammatory cytokines, restoration of lymphocyte-platelet adhesions.
Abstract. General parameters of blood cells and immunity (including minor lymphocyte subpopulations) were determined in 196 healthy children from Chita City and 5 districts of the Chita Region, preceded by preselection of the subjects, using multi-step health evaluation schedules. When analyzing data on red blood cells, erythrocyte color index was found to become stable by the age of 3 years, followed by stabilization of blood hemoglobin content by the age of 7 years. RBC indices become stable at later ages..Basic leukocyte populations reach stability by 11 years, except for the numbers of neutrophilic granulocytes (by 15 years). All the T-cell subpopulations including the minor ones (NKT, HLA-DR+) continue to mature until 18 years, except for T-helpers, that become constant in their numbers after 7 years. Serum IgG levels stabilize by the age of 7 years; IgA and IgM amounts – by 18 years. (Med. Immunol., 2011, vol. 13, N 2-3, pp 261-266)
In the children with secondary infective endocarditis, the contents of TNK cells was found to be decreased. Same patients exhibit low concentrations of total IgG and its subclasses, IgG1 and IgG2 subclasses decreased, whereas IgG4 levels are increased. Stimulated phagocytic response is also decreased in these patients, along with increased numbers of lymphocyte/platelet cell aggregates. Effect of a conventional treatment with addition of thymalin when treating secondary infective endocarditis, was more pronounced, in comparison with conventional therapy, with respect to restoration of humoral immunity, phagocytic activity of leukocytes and lymphocyte-platelet adhesion.

Abstract. Thirty-seven children (7 to 14 years old) with chronic inflammatory lung diseases (ILD) were under study. It was revealed that the contents of T-lymphocytes with CD3+ and CD4+ markers, and B-lymphocytes (CD20+) were relatively decreased in the patients, but their absolute amounts proved to be increased, along with sufficiently decreased CD4+/CD8+ ratio, and diminished IgA, IgG and IgM concentrations. The numbers of lymphocyte able to adhere to platelets was relatively decreased, being, however, increased in absolute counts. In the patients with ILD, we have found increased levels of IL-1β, IL-8, TNFα, IFNα, IFNγ. The lymphocyte-to-platelet adherence is an objective test that reflects functional state of cell immunity. (Med. Immunol., vol. 10, N 6, pp 583-588).
In patients with diffuse toxic goiter (DTG), relative numbers of CD4+, CD8+ lymphocytes, activated T-lymphocytes (CD3+HLA-DR+) proved to be increased, whereas absolute contents of T-independent (CD3-CD16+CD56+), and T-dependent (CD3+CD16+CD56+) NK-cells were found to be decreased. Moreover, IgA and IgM levels were decreased among DTG patients. In most DTG cases, amounts of lymphocyte-to-platelet agregates were sharply decreased. Studying parameters of immunogram, lymphocyte-platelet adhesion allows of assessing specific changes of adaptive immune response in diffuse toxic goiter.
Abstract. It is revealed, that significant disturbances of cellular and humoral immunity are observed in patients with complicated course of appendicitis. Intramuscular administration of Thimalin (10 mg per injection), Epitalamin (10 mg per injection) for 10 days or Vilon (10 mkg per injection) during 5 or 10 days, applied as a complement to conventional treatment, proved to exert immunostimulatory effects. Moreover, it promoted healing of surgical wounds by a primary tension, and also reduced terms of the treatment by a mean of 5-6 days. To achieve similar medical effects, a twofold lesser number of Vilon single doses is required, than those of Thimalin and Epitalamin. (Med. Immunol., 2008, vol. 10, N 4-5, pp 455-462).
Abstract. It was established that in patients with laryngeal carcinoma the leukocytes total count increased, but lymphocytes number and their main subpopulations (CD4+, CD8+, CD16+, CD22) and CD4+/CD8+ ratio decreased. At the same time in patients the IgA level elevated and IgM concentration decreased. In patients with laryngeal carcinoma the number of CD4+ and CD16+ which had ability to bind platelets decreased. In these patients the lymphocytes IL-2 receptors increased. The received data are discussed in paper.
Abstract. An immune deficiency state, along with continuously increased intravascular coagulation, are shown to develop in puerperal women after Caesarian section complicated by endometritis. Complex therapeutic schedules aimed for endometritis treatment, including thymic peptides (thymalin or thymogen) are accompanied by more rapid correction of these disorders and favorable clinical effect.
