Abstract. This article presents results of apoptosis detection among blood lymphocytes from the patients with autoimmune thyroid disorders, i.e., autoimmune thyroiditis (AIT) at euthyroid and hypothyroid stages, and in diffuse toxic goiter (DTG). Contents of CD95+, annexin V presenting (apoptotic) cells and TNFα in blood were analyzed. It was shown, that altered regulation of programmed lymphocyte death in autoimmune thyroid disorders is demonstrated by increased content of TNFα and CD95+ lymphocytes, being accompanied by decreased numbers of apoptotic cells in blood. Meanwhile, this pathology is expressed mostly in DTG, while being less significant in AIT at euthyroid stage, than in thyroid hypofunction. Possible mechanisms of the revealed disturbances are discussed. (Med. Immunol., 2008, vol. 10, N 2-3, pp 187-192).
This paper reports the results of a study of lymphocyte apoptosis in the blood of 81 patients presenting with autoimmune thyropathies, such as autoimmune thyroidism (AIT) and Grave's disease (GD). It was shown that AIT in patients with hypothyroidism and DTG is associated with an increased number of CD95+ lymphocytes «doomed» to apoptose. Moreover, AIT and DTG conditions are characterized by an elevated level of serum tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α). In euthyroid patients with AIT, this rise is accompanied by a decrease in the interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) level. Hypotyroid patients with AIT exhibit positive relationship between an increased number of CD95+ lymphocytes in blood and serum TNF-α levels.
The aim of this work was to evaluate selected parameters of oxidative metabolism in peripheral blood lymphocytes of patients with autoimmune thyroiditis (AIT) at the stages of eu- and hypothyroidism. The lymphocytes were shown to accumulate superoxide anion radical, hydrogen peroxide, and TBA-active products in association with the decrease of major enzymatic activities (superoxide dismutase and catalase). Changes in free radical oxidation and activity of key antioxidative enzymes in AIT patients proved unidirectional.
Spontaneous and stimulated reaction of lymphocyte proliferation and blood levels of CD25- and CD120-expressing lymphocytes were studied in patients with autoimmune thyroiditis and diffuse toxic goiter. Activation of CD25- and CD120-presenting function of blood lymphocytes was revealed. The findings indicate that the course of autoimmune thyroiditis and diffuse toxic goiter is associated with increased levels of basal, mitogen- and cytokine-stimulated proliferation of blood lymphocytes, particularly pronounced in thyroiditis in the euthyrosis stage.
In this article results of research of lipid peroxidation activity and enzymes of antioxidants protection parameters in lymphocytes of blood in 25 girls teenagers with autoimmune thyropathies are presented. It is shown, that in teenagers with autoimmune thyroiditis and diffusive toxic struma lipid peroxidation activity does not undergo the expressed rejections while the contents of restored giutathione, activity of catalase and enzymes of giutathione cycle in lymphocytes of peripheral blood change. Thus disbalance of antioxidants systems in lymphocytes in teenagers with autoimmune thyroiditis in a stage of euthyroidism is more expressed, than at diffusive toxic struma.

It was shown, that current AIT and GD is characterized by an increase of neutrophils readiness for apoptosis against a background of blood cytokine profile with reflects neutrophils active involving in the disease immunopathogenesis of autoimmune thyropaties.

The paper discusses the functional activity of peripheral neutrophilic granulocytes in 25 patients with autoimmune thyroiditis (AIT). The course of the latter is shown to be attended by a reduction in serum lactoferrin levels with simultaneous increases in the production of active oxygen forms and in the blood count of CD95+ granulocytes.
Results of researches of lipid peroxidation (POL) and antioxidant protection activity parameters in lymphocytes blood in 60 patients with autoimmune thyropathies (autoimmune thyroiditis AIT, diffusive toxic struma DTS) is presented in article. It is shown, activation of POL in lymphocytes takes place in surveyed patients and it reaching a significant level at AIT in phase of euthyroidism. Thus the most expressed decrease of activity of antioxidant protection enzymes (superoxidedismutase, catalase, glutathioneperoxidase and glutathione-S-transferase) is discovered in lymphocytes of patients at AIT with euthyroidism and DTS.

Two men and twenty six women (with the average age 44.0 ± 2.3 years) ill with the disease for 6.0 ± 2.7 years were examined. 85.7% of the ill were in the euthyroid state, 14.3% were in hypothyroidism. 25% ofthe patients were diagnosed with atrophic AIT, 60,7% got the diagnoses of fibroid and fibronodular AIT and 14.3% got hypertrophic AIT diagnoses. It was found that the course of AIT was accompanied with the increase of the rate of CD20 +-lymphocytes in blood at the normal number of CD3 +-, CD4 +-, CD8 +и CD56 + cells. The IgG to the HSV was found in 92.9% patients with AIT, to the CMV in 96.4% cases, to the pre-early antigen (ЕА) of CMV (acute infection) in 39.3% patients and to the nuclear antigen of EBV (КА) (late past-infection) in 67.6% cases. In two cases we found EBV-IgG to EA and КА simultaneously (late stage of primary EBV-infection or reactivation of its chronic form). It was proved that 39.3% of the patients with AIT associate this disease with acute cytomegalovirus infection.
