This article addresses the flow over an unsteady slendering stretching sheet considering second-grade nanofluid with mixed convection. By taking the features of non-linear thermal radiation, thermophoresis and Brownian diffusion effects are scrutinized. The flow is induced by a non-linear stretching surface of variable thickness. Essential features of combined zero mass flux and convective conditions are analyzed. The use of appropriate transformations results in the non-linear ODEs. Computations for the convergent series solutions are provided. Graphical illustrations assign the interpretations to quantities of physical interest. Nusselt number and skin friction are analyzed as well. By observing these results, it is evident that the attributes of nanoparticles and non-linear thermal radiation increase the temperature distribution.
In this work, a numerical technique for solving general nonlinear ordinary differential equations (ODEs) with variable coefficients and given conditions is introduced. The collocation method is used with rational Chebyshev (RC) functions as a matrix discretization to treat the nonlinear ODEs. Rational Chebyshev collocation (RCC) method is used to transform the problem to a system of nonlinear algebraic equations. The discussion of the order of convergence for RC functions is introduced. The proposed base is specified by its ability to deal with boundary conditions with independent variable that may tend to infinity with easy manner without divergence. The technique is tested and verified by two examples, then applied to four real life and applications models. Also, the comparison of our results with other methods is introduced to study the applicability and accuracy.
In this paper we are presenting the refinements of integral inequalities established for convex functions. Consequently, we get refinements of several fractional integral inequalities for different kinds of fractional integral operators.
In this paper, we prove several inequalities of the Grüss type involving generalized k -fractional Hilfer–Katugampola derivative. In 1935, Grüss demonstrated a fascinating integral inequality, which gives approximation for the product of two functions. For these functions, we develop some new fractional integral inequalities. Our results with this new derivative operator are capable of evaluating several mathematical problems relevant to practical applications.
In this article, we develop a novel framework to study a new class of convex functions known as n-polynomial $\mathscr{P} $ -convex functions. The purpose of this article is to establish a new generalization of Ostrowski-type integral inequalities by using a generalized k-fractional Hilfer–Katugampola derivative. We employ this technique by using the Hölder and power-mean integral inequalities. We present analogs of the Ostrowski-type integrals inequalities connected with the n-polynomial $\mathscr{P}$ -convex function. Some new exceptional cases from the main results are obtained, and some known results are recaptured. In the end, an application to special means is given as well. The article seeks to create an exciting combination of a convex function and special functions in fractional calculus. It is supposed that this investigation will provide new directions in fractional calculus.
This study is concerned with utilizing secondary resonances in order to harvest energy from low-frequency excitations. Nonlinearities give rise to secondary resonances, which can potentially activate large-amplitude responses when the excitation frequency is a fraction of the fundamental frequency of the system. Such resonances offer an untapped and unique opportunity for harvesting vibratory energy from excitation sources with low-frequency components. This issue has propelled the current study. Based on multi-frequency excitation, we develop a novel theoretical framework for a piezomagnetoelastic energy harvester to enhance its performance. The proposed scheme is implemented in both monostable and bistable piezomagnetoelastic under low-frequency excitations. It is shown throughout the paper that when the excitation frequencies are certain fractions of the system's fundamental frequency, the combination and simultaneous resonance activate large-amplitude responses. Another advantage of the scheme is that the energy could be harvested from low-frequency ambient vibrations, which is a considerable concern in this field of study. Different responses of the system, such as low-amplitude and high-amplitude limit-cycle oscillations and chaotic motions, are studied through perturbation theory and numerical techniques. Various numerical tools, including phase portrait, Poincare section, and Lyapunov exponent, are used to explore complex dynamical behavior of the system. The performance of the harvester is also compared in different regions. Numeral simulations clearly confirm that the proposed framework dramatically enhances the performance of the energy harvester.
We attempt to motivate utilization of some local derivatives of arbitrary orders in clinical medicine. For this purpose, we provide two efficient solution methods for various problems that occur in nature by employing the local proportional derivative defined by the proportional derivative (PD) controller. Under some necessary assumptions, a detailed exposition of the instantaneous volume in a lung is furnished by conformable derivative and such modified conformable derivatives as truncated M-derivative and proportional derivative. Moreover, we wish to investigate the performance of the above-mentioned operators in applications by plotting several graphs of the governing equations.
In the paper, we are recovering optical solutions of the $$ (2 + 1)$$ -dimensional Schrödinger’s hyperbolic equation with nonlinearities of a higher order. It outlines the distribution of short-range pulses in optical fibers with nonlinear media. We develop new solutions of complex hyperbolic Schrödinger’s model using a method that is the latest extended direct algebraic method. This technique was combined with the fractional complex transformation of the optical solutions. Added various complex solutions trigonometric and hyperbolic are represented by single, dark, bright, and combined singular solution. The solutions that have been developed are more effective than the other techniques used. The extended algebraic method is a more efficient and robust mathematical technique arising from the propagation of optical pulse to produce new solitary optical wave solutions for several other nonlinear fractional-order equations. Plots 3D and 2D demonstrate solutions to describe the physical characteristics of that model. Also, the thorough study of two and three-dimensional optical solutions is explored together.
In this paper, a hybrid method called variational iteration transform method has been implemented to solve fractional-order Navier–Stokes equation. Caputo operator describes fractional-order derivatives. The solutions of three examples are presented to show the validity of the current method without using Adomian and He’s polynomials. The results of the proposed method are shown and analyzed with the help of figures. It is shown that the proposed method is found to be efficient, reliable, and easy to implement for various related problems of science and engineering.
In this paper, we have mathematically analyzed a within-host model of SARS-CoV-2 which is used by Li et al. in the paper “The within-host viral kinetics of SARS-CoV-2” published in (Math. Biosci. Eng. 17(4):2853–2861, 2020). Important properties of the model, like nonnegativity of solutions and their boundedness, are established. Also, we have calculated the basic reproduction number which is an important parameter in the infection models. From stability analysis of the model, it is found that stability of the biologically feasible steady states are determined by the basic reproduction number $(\chi _{0})$ . Numerical simulations are done in order to substantiate analytical results. A biological implication from this study is that a COVID-19 patient with less than one basic reproduction ratio can automatically recover from the infection.
The study of benzenoid systems has been steadily gaining momentum due to their extensive applications in many emerging fields including nanosciences. Topological descriptors provide a mathematical expression of the molecular structure of chemical compounds and their properties. They serve as efficient and cost-effective tools to theoretically predict the properties of compounds using quantitative structure–activity (QSAR) and structure–property relationship (QSPR) studies. This paper demonstrates the computation of degree-based and irregularity-based topological descriptors using edge-partition techniques for two benzenoid structures. This analysis of degree-based descriptors for these structures can lay the basis for further exploration into benzenoids and their properties.
In the paper, we extend some previous results dealing with the Hermite–Hadamard inequalities with fractal sets and several auxiliary results that vary with local fractional derivatives introduced in the recent literature. We provide new generalizations for the third-order differentiability by employing the local fractional technique for functions whose local fractional derivatives in the absolute values are generalized convex and obtain several bounds and new results applicable to convex functions by using the generalized Hölder and power-mean inequalities. As an application, numerous novel cases can be obtained from our outcomes. To ensure the feasibility of the proposed method, we present two examples to verify the method. It should be pointed out that the investigation of our findings in fractal analysis and inequality theory is vital to our perception of the real world since they are more realistic models of natural and man-made phenomena.
In the article, we establish serval novel Hermite–Jensen–Mercer-type inequalities for convex functions in the framework of the k-fractional conformable integrals by use of our new approaches. Our obtained results are the generalizations, improvements, and extensions of some previously known results, and our ideas and methods may lead to a lot of follow-up research.
The approximate numerical solution of the linear second kind of fuzzy integral Fredholm equations is discussed in this article. A new approach uses hybrid functions, and some useful properties of these functions are proposed to transform linear second type fuzzy integral Fredholm equations into an algebraic equation. The new approach is a mixture of Bernstein polynomials (BPs) and enhanced block-pulse functions (IBPFs) at interval [0, 1) . The approach is appealing and very easy to implement computationally. Some numerical tests show the reliability and exactness of the suggested scheme.
The present article addresses the concept ofp-convex functions on fractal sets. We are able to prove a novel auxiliary result. In the application aspect, the fidelity of the local fractional is used to establish the generalization of Simpson-type inequalities for the class of functions whose local fractional derivatives in absolute values at certain powers arep-convex. The method we present is an alternative in showing the classical variants associated with generalizedp-convex functions. Some parts of our results cover the classical convex functions and classical harmonically convex functions. Some novel applications in random variables, cumulative distribution functions and generalized bivariate means are obtained to ensure the correctness of the present results. The present approach is efficient, reliable, and it can be used as an alternative to establishing new solutions for different types of fractals in computer graphics.
The present work investigates the applicability and effectiveness of generalized proportional fractional integral ($\mathcal{GPFI}$) operator in another sense. We aim to derive novel weighted generalizations involving a family of positive functions n ($n\in \mathbb{N}$) for this recently proposed operator. As applications of this operator, we can generate notable outcomes for Riemann–Liouville ($\mathcal{RL}$) fractional, generalized $\mathcal{RL}$-fractional operator, conformable fractional operator, Katugampola fractional integral operator, and Hadamard fractional integral operator by changing the domain. The proposed strategy is vivid, explicit, and it can be used to derive new solutions for various fractional differential equations applied in mathematical physics. Certain remarkable consequences of the main theorems are also figured.
In the article, we introduce the generalized exponentially μ-preinvex function, derive a new q-integral identity for second order q-differentiable function, and establish several new q-trapezoidal type integral inequalities for the function whose absolute value of second q-derivative is exponentially μ-preinvex.
The unavailability of wasted energy due to the irreversibility in the process is called the entropy generation. An irreversible process is a process in which the entropy of the system is increased. The second law of thermodynamics is used to define whether the given system is reversible or irreversible. Here, our focus is how to reduce the entropy of the system and maximize the capability of the system. There are many methods for maximizing the capacity of heat transport. The constant pressure gradient or motion of the wall can be used to increase the heat transfer rate and minimize the entropy. The objective of this study is to analyze the heat and mass transfer of an Eyring-Powell fluid in a porous channel. For this, we choose two different fluid models, namely, the plane and generalized Couette flows. The flow is generated in the channel due to a pressure gradient or with the moving of the upper lid. The present analysis shows the effects of the fluid parameters on the velocity, the temperature, the entropy generation, and the Bejan number. The nonlinear boundary value problem of the flow problem is solved with the help of the regular perturbation method. To validate the perturbation solution, a numerical solution is also obtained with the help of the built-in command NDSolve of MATHEMATICA 11.0. The velocity profile shows the shear thickening behavior via first-order Eyring-Powell parameters. It is also observed that the profile of the Bejan number has a decreasing trend against the Brinkman number. When η i → 0 ( i = 1, 2, 3), the Eyring-Powell fluid is transformed into a Newtonian fluid.
Inequality theory provides a significant mechanism for managing symmetrical aspects in real-life circumstances. The renowned distinguishing feature of integral inequalities and fractional calculus has a solid possibility to regulate continuous issues with high proficiency. This manuscript contributes to a captivating association of fractional calculus, special functions and convex functions. The authors develop a novel approach for investigating a new class of convex functions which is known as an n-polynomial $\mathcal{P}$ -convex function. Meanwhile, considering two identities via generalized fractional integrals, provide several generalizations of the Hermite–Hadamard and Ostrowski type inequalities by employing the better approaches of Hölder and power-mean inequalities. By this new strategy, using the concept of n-polynomial $\mathcal{P}$ -convexity we can evaluate several other classes of n-polynomial harmonically convex, n-polynomial convex, classical harmonically convex and classical convex functions as particular cases. In order to investigate the efficiency and supremacy of the suggested scheme regarding the fractional calculus, special functions and n-polynomial $\mathcal{P}$ -convexity, we present two applications for the modified Bessel function and $\mathfrak{q}$ -digamma function. Finally, these outcomes can evaluate the possible symmetric roles of the criterion that express the real phenomena of the problem.
We establish certain new fractional integral inequalities involving the Raina function for monotonicity of functions that are used with some traditional and forthright inequalities. Taking into consideration the generalized fractional integral with respect to a monotone function, we derive the Grüss and certain other associated variants by using well-known integral inequalities such as Young, Lah–Ribarič, and Jensen integral inequalities. In the concluding section, we present several special cases of fractional integral inequalities involving generalized Riemann–Liouville, k-fractional, Hadamard fractional, Katugampola fractional, $(k,s)$-fractional, and Riemann–Liouville-type fractional integral operators. Moreover, we also propose their pertinence with other related known outcomes.
