烫蜡工艺是中国传统工艺品(如青铜器、木雕、纸张等)进行表而防腐处理的技术,就目前史料可知其最早的应用是商周时期的青铜器烫蜡封护技术,如据容庚<商周彝器通考>中记载:"乾嘉以前出土之器,磨砻光泽,外敷以蜡",而就目前所存的明清家具实物而论,至少在明清时期,烫蜡技术被作为木材表面防护技术已经很成熟.
In order to inherit and carry forward the Chinese traditional hardwood furniture of hot wax technology and optimize their practice in the application of modern production, spectrophotometry, colorimetry coordinate parameter quantitative method and digital image processing technology were used to acquire the wood surface material color and gloss variation before and after coating process through comparison of hot wax technology and six clear lacquer. The results showed that :(1) Chromaticity Characteristics of wood surface markers decreased significantly with the degree of the different processes, shown in Lightness (L*); Yellow-blue axis chromaticity (b*) increase of 1.53 similar to 3.05;Hue angle (C*) increase of 5.69 similar to 11.72.Hot wax CIE (L*a*b*) the smallest average change, Respectively, L*-8.21, a*+1.97, b*+5.5, C*-0.20, Ag*+6.18;(2)Effect of hot wax on the enhanced ability to gloss coating is less than clear lacquer, and the enhanced ability of the gloss of the stripes is less than along the grain. It is close to the low sheen clear lacquer Flat emulsion, and it is about 1 to 1.5 times to Light transparent coating with the margin between 40 and 50. It appears soft reflected light show without the characteristics of high-gloss. It is indicated that hot wax coating process has more transparent process than the original timber to retain the color, and it has more vivid colors to a certain extent, and also further highlights the wood material beauty.
