HIV/AIDS masih menjadi permasalahan kesehatan yang memerlukan perhatian serius, terutama pada kelompok remaja yang rentan terhadap perilaku berisiko. Pengetahuan mengenai HIV/AIDS merupakan salah satu faktor yang diperkirakan berperan dalam membentuk perilaku pencegahan pada remaja. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui hubungan tingkat pengetahuan dengan perilaku pencegahan HIV/AIDS pada siswa SMK Saraswati. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain cross-sectional. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 478 siswa dengan sampel sebanyak 83 responden yang ditentukan menggunakan rumus Slovin. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan melalui proportionate stratified random sampling berdasarkan kelas dan jurusan. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner dan dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman Rank. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 63 responden (75,9%) memiliki tingkat pengetahuan tinggi dan 20 responden (24,1%) memiliki tingkat pengetahuan rendah. Sementara itu, sebanyak 54 responden (65,1%) memiliki perilaku pencegahan HIV/AIDS yang baik dan 29 responden (34,9%) memiliki perilaku kurang baik. Hasil uji Spearman Rank memperoleh koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,178 dengan nilai signifikansi 0,107 (p>0,05), sehingga tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat pengetahuan dan perilaku pencegahan HIV/AIDS. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa tingkat pengetahuan yang tinggi belum tentu diikuti perilaku pencegahan yang baik karena perilaku dapat dipengaruhi faktor lain di luar pengetahuan.
The increase in dengue fever (DHF) cases in 2024 has become a serious global concern, with 14 million cases and over 10,000 deaths reported worldwide. In Indonesia, children aged 5–14 years are the most affected group, with 138,465 cases. Mothers play a crucial role in preventing DHF in children. Mothers with good knowledge of early signs and symptoms can help ensure faster treatment and prevent severe complications. Objective: This study aims to describe the level of mothers' knowledge in detecting early signs of DHF in children aged 5–14 years in Paseban Village, Klaten Regency. Method: This is a descriptive quantitative study using purposive sampling. The population consisted of 699 mothers with children aged 5–14 years, and 100 respondents were selected as samples. A questionnaire with 29 validated and reliable items was used as the research instrument. Results: Most mothers (76%) in Paseban Village had good knowledge of early DHF detection. Implication: These findings suggest that most mothers are already well-informed about recognizing early symptoms of DHF. This reflects the positive impact of health education provided through health workers and media, which should be continued and expanded to strengthen DHF prevention efforts.
The Surakarta City Fire Department recorded fire incidents that occurred in 2023 reaching 132 incidents in the city and 125 incidents outside the city. As a result, residential locations become denser and denser, thereby increasing the risk of fire. The impacts of fire include loss of life, physical damage to buildings, loss of property and economic loss and environmental damage. Increasing understanding and skills regarding fire management can reduce the impact caused by fire. The target and output is to increase community knowledge and skills regarding handling household fires in the Samaan Sudiroprajan area. The implementation method is by providing counseling and simulations in collaboration with the Surakarta City Fire Department, the community tries to extinguish fires, evaluates community skills. The results of this activity were the level of community knowledge before being given counseling. Most of the participants were in the sufficient category, namely 18 people (90%), and after being given counseling, the majority of participants were in the good category, namely 20 people (100%). Community skills were obtained after carrying out simulations on 15 (100%) people, all in the good category. The conclusion from this activity is that providing counseling and simulations can increase people's knowledge and skills in dealing with household fires.
Background: End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) is a chronic disease that has a significant impact on patients' physical, psychological, and social functioning. While hemodialysis therapy prolongs life expectancy, it also places a significant physical and emotional burden. This condition can reduce their quality of life. Implementing good self-management behaviors, such as adherence to therapy, dietary adjustments, and emotional management, can help patients adapt and improve their well-being. Purpose: To identify the relationship between self-management and quality of life in ESRD patients undergoing hemodialysis in Surakarta. Methods: This study was a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 150 patients undergoing HD, and the sampling technique used convenience sampling with a sample size of 80 people. Inclusion criteria included patients undergoing HD for at least 6 months. The instrument used to measure self-management was the HemoDialysis Self-Management Instrument (HDSMI), while quality of life was measured using the Kidney Disease Quality of Life Short Form (KDQOL SF-36). The relationship between the two variables was analyzed using the Chi-square test. Results: This study found a significant positive relationship between self-management and quality of life in hemodialysis patients (p = 0.000; p < 0.05). Patients with good self-management skills tended to demonstrate higher levels of physical and psychological well-being. Conclusion: Improved self-management is positively associated with a higher quality of life in patients with end-stage renal disease undergoing hemodialysis. Therefore, nursing interventions should focus on strengthening self-management skills through health education and ongoing psychosocial support.
Introduction: Effective Basic Life Support (BLS) is crucial in improving survival rates during emergencies. Current nursing education often relies on traditional methods, which may not fully prepare students for the pressure and decision-making required in real-life situations. Objective: This study explores the effectiveness of manikin-based BLS simulation with scenarios in enhancing nursing students' skills in emergency management. Method: This study employed a one-group pre-test post-test design. Thirty nursing students were randomly assigned to participate in a Manikin-Based BLS Simulation training program. Their BLS skills were assessed using a validated and reliable questionnaire based on the American Heart Association (AHA) 2020 guidelines, administered both before and after the training. Data collection occurred in May 2024. The subsequent analysis will compare pre-test and post-test scores to evaluate the effectiveness of the Manikin-Based BLS Simulation in improving students' BLS skills. Result: Post-training, knowledge improved significantly (p < 0.001), with 93.3% of students achieving 'Good' knowledge and 96.7% passing skill assessments. Conclusion: Manikin-based simulations effectively enhance knowledge and skills, supporting their integration into nursing curricula.
Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a type of metabolic disorder characterized by hyperglycemia which leads to serious complications. One physical activity that can be applied is progressive muscle relaxation, which focuses on sequentially tightening and relaxing muscle groups resulting in controlled blood glucose levels so that holistic treatment is needed. Objective: To determine the results of the application of Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) to reduce blood glucose levels in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus at RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta. Method: This research is a type of qualitative descriptive research with a case study approach (Case Study). The design for this application was a control group design which was applied to 1 respondent with Diabetes Mellitus Type 2. Results: Based on the results of this application, it was found that blood glucose levels decreased after Progressive Muscle Relaxation was carried out, which was indicated by the number of high glucose levels decreasing. Comparison before and after applying Progressive Muscle Relaxation, before being given the application of PMR high blood sugar levels were 415 mg/dl and after being given the application of PMR 2 times a day (morning and evening) for 3 consecutive days normal blood sugar levels were 173 mg/dl etc. Conclusion: Blood sugar levels before the application were given were high and after the application was given the patient's blood sugar levels were normal.
Background: The presence of critical patients who were treated in intensive care units can have a severe impact on their family's physical and psychological states, such as lack of hygiene, sleep disorder, decreased appetite, anxiety, depression, and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The negative effects can be mitigated by meeting family requirements while patients are in the intensive care unit. Objective: The purpose of this study is to see if there is a link between nurse motivation and their fulfillment of critical patients' family needs. Methods: The type of research is quantitative, descriptive correlational to determine the relationship between nurse motivation and meeting the needs of families of critical patients. The population in this study were all ICU nurses at RSUP dr. Ario Wirawan, totaling 32 people using total sampling technique. Results: . Treatment in the intensive care room does not only focus on the patient, but also needs to pay attention to the condition of the family waiting for the patient. The results of this study indicate that the intensive care nurses in the ICU at RSUP dr. Ario Wirawan Salatiga is in the good category with 50%. Conclusion: There is a relationship between nurse motivation and meeting the needs of families of critical patients in the ICU.
Introduction: The impact of floods on communities included both physical and psychological effects. The psychological impact on individuals contributed to anxiety, encompassing various environmental and health issues, such as acute stress. Floods led to psychological manifestations, including anxiety, stress, and clinical depression. Objective: The goal of this community service project was to provide five-finger hypnosis therapy to reduce the anxiety levels of flood-affected communities. Method: The three types of activity approaches included planning, carrying out, and reviewing. Twenty community members participated in this activity, which involved a lecture and Q&A session. Result: The results of the activity concluded that providing five-finger hypnosis therapy to communities affected by natural disasters effectively reduced psychological symptoms, specifically anxiety. The instructional training was conducted without any difficulties. Conclusion: Five-finger hypnosis therapy effectively reduced anxiety in disaster-affected communities. This technique is flexible and can be performed anytime and anywhere.
Latar Belakang : Kabupaten Sukoharjo yang terletak di Provinsi Jawa Tengah, menunjukkan tingkat kejadian Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD) yang masih relatif tinggi. Pelonjakan kasus setiap tahun dipengaruhi oleh perilaku 3M masyarakat yang masih rendah. Salah satu kecamatan di Sukoharjo yang nilai DBD nya masih relative tinggi adalah Kecamatan Polokarto. DBD di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Polokarto selama tahun 2020-2023 kasus DBD mencapai 128 kasus. Wilayah Polokarto yang angka DBD masih tinggi di Kelurahan Kemasan dengan jumlah kasus DBD ada 20. Tujuan : mengetahui hubungan perilaku 3M plus terhadap angka bebas jentik nyamuk di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Polokarto. Metode: desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah distribusi korelasi. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah Masyarakat Desa Kemasan dengan jumlah sampel 93 orang. Hasil : Sebagian besar Masyarakat masih memiliki perilaku 3M plus yang kurang baik 71 responden yang tindakan 3M Plus nya buruk, terdapat 55 kasus keberadaan jentik. Sedangkan 21 responden yang tindakan 3M plus nya baik, terdapat 6 kasus keberadaan jentik.,Kesimpulan: Ada hubungan yang signifikan antara perilaku 3M Plus dengan keberadaan jentik nyamuk diwilayah kerja UPTD Puskesmas Polokarto
Hypertension is a disease that can be experienced by various groups of people from high to lower middle social levels, from teenagers to the elderly where this condition experiences an increase in blood pressure from normal conditions (130/80 mmHg). One non-pharmacological intervention, namely foot reflexology, is an option because this action is safe for patients because it is not invasive and is easy to do by traffic. Foot reflexology massage is able to improve blood flow, the nerve points of the feet are massaged and have a relaxing effect on the body. Foot massage has a mechanical effect of improving blood circulation so it can lower blood pressure. To determine the results of applying foot reflexology massage on blood pressure in hypertensive patients at Karanganyar Regional Using a descriptive method in the form of a case study for 2 patients with hypertension. Respondent 1 before applying foot reflexology massage found blood pressure from 176/100 mmHg to 165/90 mmHg. Meanwhile, Respondent 2 before applying foot reflexology massage found that his blood pressure was 150/90 to 143/80. Foot reflexology massage can be used as a non-pharmacological technique to reduce blood pressure in hypertension patients.
Socialization and direction on Covid-19 prevention have been disseminated throughout the population. There are still many people who have not behaved to do what is directed by the government. This happens due to the low literacy ability of the community and there are still many people who do not have access to information media, so the attitudes and knowledge possessed by the community are still minimal in the outbreak of this Covid-19 outbreak. Knowledge and attitudes are very important in determining one's behavior because knowledge forms beliefs that will then become the basis for a person in taking a stand and determining behavior toward certain objects. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes toward Covid-19 prevention behavior in Pabelan Village. This research is analytical research with a cross-sectional design. The research was conducted on residents of Pabelan Kartasuro Sukoharjo Village with a total sample of 51 respondents. The sampling technique uses the simple random sample method. The Chi-Square test conducted obtained a p-value of > 0.05 (1.00) for the relationship between attitude and Covid-19 prevention behavior. The results of the analysis of the relationship of knowledge with Covid prevention behavior p>0,05. There is no relationship between attitudes and knowledge and Covid prevention behavior. Good attitudes and knowledge related to Covid are expected to be able to provide positive prevention behavior.
Proses penuaan pada lansia berpengaruh pada penurunan berbagai fungsi sistem tubuh, salah satunya sistem neuromuskuler. Salah satu penyakit neurologi dengan prevalensi tinggi secara global yaitu stroke. Stroke menjadi penyebab utama kedua kematian di dunia dan penyebab diasbilitas pada usia dewasa hingga lansia. Peningkatan jumlah penduduk lansia dapat meningkatkan beban biaya pelayanan kesehatan jika banyak lansia yang mengalami penurunan kesehatan dan membutuhkan perawatan khusus. Program Kelas Sehat Lansia meliputi kegiatan sosialisasi kesehatan, pelayanan kesehatan, pelatihan, aktivitas fungsional rekreasi dan keagamaan. Pelatihan bagi lansia meliputi pelatihan deteksi dini permasalahan kesehatan pada lansia serta pelatihan exercise pencegahan dan penanganan permasalahan neuromuskuler pada lansia. Program kelas sehat lansia ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret-April 2021 bertempat di Posyandu Lansia Menur II, Makamhaji, Sukoharjo. Kegiatan Kelas Sehat Lansia dilaksanakan selama 4 (empat) minggu dengan rincian kegiatan yaitu: minggu pertama yaitu sosialisasi program dan pemeriksaan lansia, minggu kedua dan ketiga yaitu penyuluhan dan pelatihan tentang kasus neuromuskuler pada lansia dan minggu keempat yaitu penyuluhan, pelatihan dan evaluasi program. Media edukasi yang digunakan dalam kegiatan kelas lansia yaitu booklet dan simulasi praktik. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan lansia setelah mendapatkan program kelas sehat lansia sebanyak 4 pertemuan dengan rata-rata skor 13 poin (pretest) meningkat menjadi 15 poin (posttest).
Pendahuluan: Konstipasi atau sembelit pada pasien dengan keadaana kritis didefinisikan yaitu tidak bisa buang air besar selama minimal 3-4 hari perawatan di ICU, yang dapat disebabkan salahsatunya oleh penurunan motilitas gastrointestinal. Ada dua cara untuk mengobati kostipasi: secara farmakologis dengan obat pencahar, dan secara non farmakologis dengan meningkatkan konsumsi serat dan cairan. Selain dari asupan makanan salah satu tindakan yang dapat membantu mencegah dan mengatasi konstipasi adalah dengan pemijatan pada area perut tepatnya pada area colon yang disebut dengan abdominal massage Tujuan: untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh dari swedish abdominal massage terhadap keteraturan pola eliminasi defekasi. Metode: : jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan studi kasus. Penerapan dilakukan pada 2 pasien yang dipilih dengan metode purposive sampling dengan kriteria inklusi dan ekslusi. Tindakan swedish abdominal massage ini dilakukan selama 15 menit sebanyak 1x/hari selama 3 hari. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan SOP swedish abdominal massage, lembar observasi dan informed consent. Penelitian ini sudah melalui uji etik dengan nomor 081/V/AUEC/2023. Hasil: dari hasil observasi yang dilakukan selama 3 hari pada 2 responden Tn. G dan Tn. S menunjukkan responden bisa BAB mulai hari ke 2 dan 3 yanga artinya terjadi perbaikan pola eliminasi defekasi pada 2 responden. Kesimpulan: dari penelitian ini swedish abdominal massage merupakan salah satu terapi pemijatan sederhana yang mampu membantu menjaga pola eliminasi defekasi agar teratur
Background:Indonesia is a country crossed by the equator which has various kinds of potential natural beauty such as beaches, lakes, caves, waterfalls, mountains and others. On the island of Java there are 35 volcanoes,Mount Merapi is one of the most active volcanoes in Indonesia and even in the world. Efforts to reduce disaster risk are carried out before a disaster occurs,which is called risk management, while after a disaster occurs,it is called impact management. The results of disaster mitigation efforts are used for the disaster preparedness process.Objective:Education is carried out to increase knowledge of the community, especially in communities that are in areas prone to the Mount Merapi disaster.Method:Community service is carried out using educational video media which is given to communities that are vulnerable to being affected by Mount Merapi.Result:The results of the student pretest showed that 70% of the participants did not understand about volcanic eruption mitigation and 30% of the students already understood. The posttest was carried out with the same questions as the pretest and the results showed that 93% students already understood the issue. explanation of mitigation for the volcanic eruption disaster.Conclusion:There is an increase in knowledge after disaster mitigation education is carried out.
Introduction: Creating a program to establish a Disaster Safe Education Unit [Satuan Pendidikan Aman Bencana (SPAB)] is one of the initiatives the government is doing to prevent catastrophes and manage their effects in educational settings. Objective: The purpose of this community service project is to improve students' understanding of and proficiency in disaster preparedness. Method: The three types of activity approaches include planning, carrying out, and reviewing. 43 students participated in this activity, which involved a lecture and Q&A session. Result: It may be inferred from the activity's outcomes that educating students can help them become more knowledgeable about earthquake and flood disasters. The instructive exercise proceeded without any difficulties, and the participants engaged with great enthusiasm. Conclusion: In order to make sure that every student is aware of disaster readiness and can lower their risk of disaster, it is desired that the school would keep up its ongoing disaster preparedness education programs.
Background: According to BPBD Surakarta in 2022, the city of Surakarta is in third place for flood disasters, after the earthquake disaster at number one and the volcanic eruption disaster at number two. Several villages in Surakarta were affected by flooding, namely Pasar Kliwon, Laweyan, Serengan, Pucang Sawit, Gandekan, Sangkrah and Jebres subdistricts. Floods can threaten and disrupt people's lives by causing loss of life, environmental damage, property loss, and psychological effects. The level of anxiety in flood-prone areas in Surakarta, especially in Nusupan Hamlet, Kadokan Village, most respondents experienced moderate anxiety (55.7%). Anxiety is caused by unforeseen disasters. Objective: To describe the characteristics of the community and the level of anxiety among residents in flood-prone areas in Pucang Sawit, Surakarta. Method: This research method is descriptive with a population of 387, a sample size of 88 respondents. Results: There was no anxiety for 49 respondents (55.7%), mild anxiety for 25 respondents (28.4%), anxiety for 8 respondents (9.1%), severe anxiety for 5 respondents (5.7%), very severe anxiety 1 respondent (1.1%). Conclusion: residents who live in flood-prone areas experience mild-moderate anxiety and most experience no anxiety
Pasien ICU kritis memiliki berbagai kondisi medis, oleh karena itu pasien ICU dapat disamakan dengan kata “pasif” karena mereka menstabilkan keadaan hemodinamik melalui pemasangan berbagai alat monitor dan penunjang kehidupan salah satunya ventilator. Pasien terpasang ventilator bisa menimbulkas reaksi stress tubuh yang memicu ketidastabilan pada status hemodinamik. Upaya yang umum dilakukan untuk menjaga kestabilan hemodinamik masih didominasi terapi farmakologi, disatu sisi terapi non-farmakologi mampu membantu mengoptimalkan seperti pemberian foot massage. Tujuan penelitian mengetahui hasil penerapan foot massage terhadap status hemodinamik pada pasien dengan terpasang ventilator di ICU RSUD Ir. Soekarno Sukoharjo. Jenis penelitian adalah studi kasus deskriptif. Penerapan dilakukan pada 2 pasien yang dipilih dengan metode purposive sampling dengan kriteria inklusi dan ekslusi. Foot massage dilakukan selama 40 menit sebanyak 1x/hari dalam 2 hari. Instrument penelitian menggunakan SOP foot massage, lembar observasi status hemodinamik, dan informed consent. Hasil penelitian terjadi penurunan status hemodinamik pada parameter tekanan darah, MAP, HR, RR, dan peningkatan SPO2 pada pasien I (Tn.G) dan terjadi penurunan status hemodinamik pada parameter tekanan darah, MAP, HR, RR, dan SPO2 stabil pada pasien II (Tn.J). Kesimpulan ada perubahan terhadap status hemodinamik pada pasien terpasang ventilator di ICU RSUD Ir.Soekarno Sukoharjo setelah diberikan foot massage
Introduction: The presence of critical patients being treated in intensive care can hurt on the physical and psychological condition of their families, including lack of attention to personal hygiene, insomnia, decreased appetite, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic syndrome disorder (PTSD). This negative impact can be minimized through the role of nurses by meeting the family's needs while the patient is being treated in the intensive care room. Objective: This research aims to determine the description of meeting the needs of families of critical patients by nurses in the ICU at Ario Wirawan Lung Hospital, Salatiga. Method: The design of this research is descriptive with a survey approach using a questionnaire developed from the Critical Care Family Needs Inventory (CCFNI). The sampling technique used was total sampling with a total of 30 nurses as respondents. The data analysis used is univariate and bivariate. Results: Research shows that the majority of respondents, 60% or 18 nurses, have a good role. On average, the categories for fulfilling the needs of the patient's family carried out by nurses were the same, namely the good and bad categories for 15 respondents or 50%. Bivariate analysis results p value = 0.000 (< 0.05). Conclusion: There is a relationship between the role of nurses and meeting the needs of the families of patients treated in the ICU.
The practice of surgical wound care requires teamwork of wound nurses and interprofessional collaboration in developing quality wound care procedures. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between interprofessional collaboration practices and nurse teamwork on the quality of wound care management in postoperative patients at RSUD Dr. Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh (RSUDZA) in 2022. This research is a quantitative study with a correlative approach by making cross-sectional observations with a sample size of 52 nurses in 6 inpatient rooms at the Regional General Hospital dr. Zainoel Abidin (RSUDZA) Banda Aceh. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to respondents. The practice of interprofessional collaboration and team work of nurses in RSUDZA are mostly in the fairly good category and most are in the moderate level. However, there was a significant relationship between Interprofessional collaborative practice and the quality of postoperative wound care management (p = 0.0001) and there was a significant relationship between Team Nurse Practice and the quality of postoperative wound care management (p = 0.014). The conclusion of the study was that there was a relationship between the medical team's interprofessional collaborative practice and the nurse's teamwork practice with the quality of postoperative wound care management in the postoperative inpatient ward of RSU dr. Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh. it is suggested that there is an increase in collaboration practices, teamwork and better management of surgical wound care in the service.
Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merawat luka dengan metode modern dressing untuk proses perubahan kondisi luka ulkus diabetikum pada pasien diabetes melitus tipe II. Metode: Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kasus dengan desain penelitian deskriptif.. Jumlah sampel yang digunakan adalah 2 responden dari Klinik Fatchul Care Center Klinik Godong. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi Bates-Jansen Wound Assessment Tool (BWAT). Penelitian dilakukan selama 14 hari, dengan rata-rata perlakuan setiap 3 hari sekali. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan skor total sebelum dan sesudah intervensi, dimana sebelum dilakukan intervensi skor awal luka pada Ny. J yaitu 31 setelah diberi intervensi menjadi 10, sedangkan pada Ny. S skor awal luka 29 setelah diberi intervensi menjadi 11. Kesimpulan: Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa modern dressing memiliki efektifitas dalam perubahan kondisi luka ulkus diabetikum pada pasien diabetes melitus tipe II.
