AbstractWasserfreies Titantetrachlorid kann durch Magnesium, Zink, Aluminium, Arsen und Antimon bis zum Trichlorid reduziert werden, Geringe Mengen von wasserfreiem Aluminiumchlorid als Katalysator begünstigen die Reduktion in erheblichem Maße und bewirken, daß auch Schwefel und Phosphor imstande sind, das Tetrachlorid zum Trichlorid zu reduzieren.
