The phosphoraneiminato complexes [ReO3(NPR3)] with R = Ph (1) and R = Et (2) are made from dirhenium heptaoxide and the silylated phosphoraneimines Me3SiNPR3. The complexes 1 and 2 as well as the red silanolate [ReO(OSiMe3)(3)(Me3SiNPEt3)] (3), which is formed as a by-product in the synthesis of 2, are characterized crystallographically. 1 and 2 are monomeric molecules, in which the phosphoraneiminato ligands NPR3- realize short ReN bonds of 179.3 pm (1) and 178.6 pm (2), respectively, with large ReNP bond angles of 162.0 degrees (1) and 160.6 degrees (2), respectively. In the rhenium(V) complex 3 the oxoligand occupies the apical position of the tetragonal pyramidal coordination of the rhenium atom, while the oxygen atoms of the Me3SiO- groups take the basic positions along with the nitrogen atom of the phosphaneimine molecule.
LiNPPh3 reacts with the cyclooctatetraenide complexes [Ln(C8H8)Cl(THF)(2)](2) of cerium and samarium in tetrahydrofuran solution forming the phosphorane iminato complexes [Ln(C8H8)Li3Cl2(NPPh3)(2)(THF)(3)]. According to crystal structure analyses these complexes show heterocubane structures under participation of the lanthanoid metal atom, of the three Li atoms as well as of the two Cl und the two N atoms of the NPPh3- groups. The crystal structure of LiNPPh3 shows hexameric molecules with a Li6N6 polyhedron which is peripherally shielded by the phenyl groups. The structure of [Li(THF)(4)][Sm(C8H8)(2)], which has been isolated as a by-product, contains the samarium atom in a sandwichlike coordination by the two eta(8)-C8H82- rings as it is also known from the corresponding anions with cerium and neodymium.

The rotational isomerism of 1-bromopropane, 1-chloro-2-methylpropane and 1-bromo-2-methylpropane has been studied in the liquid phase by infrared spectroscopy. For the corresponding conformers the enthalpy differences were obtained from the temperature dependences of the intensities of the CX-stretching and some CCC-deformation vibrations. It was found that only the CX-stretching vibrations are suitable for enthalpy determinations. In the liquid phase those conformers with a gauche position of the methyl group and halogen atom are slightly preferred.
Phenols generally associate to form OH...O and OH...TI hydrogen bonds. These coupled hydrogen bond equilibria have been studied in complexes between phenols and anisóles by infrared spectroscopy. A method is described which enables the determination of the intensities of OH vibrational stretching modes and of the complex constants for the coupled equilibria. In the investigated systems about 20 to 25 percent of the associated phenol form OH...TC bonds. The structure of the OH...7t complex is discussed for the phenol-benzene system as a model case. Using the AI» versus ap relation, it is shown that the substituents influence the acceptor strength of oxygen n electrons and aromatic TC electrons in the same direction. However, the association tendency of phenols is largely determinated by the acceptor function of oxygen n electrons.
