Es konnte die Beobachtung vonKraus bestätigt werden, daß die quantitative Bestimmung kleiner Bleimengen mit Dithizon in Gegenwart von Eisen in Form von Ferricyanid durch Oxydationswirkung erheblich gestört wird. Bleispuren können jedoch ohne weiteres neben etwa 1000γ Fe (III), das als Ferricyanid vorliegt, bestimmt werden, wenn man die Cyanidlösung vorher mit Hydroxylaminchlorid versetzt.
Der qualitative Nachweis von Zink mit Dithizon kann durch Anwendung von Na2S2O3 als Tarnungsmittel spezifisch eingestellt werden (Tarnung von Ag, Cu, Hg, Au, Bi, Cd, Pb). Es stören Co, Pd und SnII.
