Die bisherigen Vorstellungen über die Grundlagen der Flotation erscheinen unzureichend; in bezug auf die „Überölung“, ferner die Wirksamkeit der Flotationsgifte und die Empfindlichkeit des technischen Aufbereitungsprozesses gegen Änderungen der physikalischen und chemischen Bedingungen versagt die Vorstellung einer laminaren Flotation.
Die Flotationswirkung der Xanthogenate beruht auf einem Zusammenwirken der Hydrolysenprodukte, nicht auf einer speziellen Eigenschaft des Xanthogenatradikals.
