The literature data of the last 5–7 years from studies of the mechanism of hydride transfer by various chemical and physical methods have been systematized. It has been noted that in the current literature there is no unanimous opinion regarding the nature of hydride transfer, although the data in favor of the stepwise mechanism predominate.
The problem of the utilization of a series of mass-spectrometric experimental data [the stabilities with respect to electron impact, the ratios of the intensities of the peaks of the ions responsible for the observed tautomerism, the first ionization potentials (FIP), the appearance potentials (AP), and the ΔE values] to distinguish the tautomeric forms in the azides and tetrazoles of pyrimido-as-triazines is discussed.
The reactions of 2-nitro-3-azidopyridine and 3-nitro-4-azidopyridine with amines and anionic nucleophiles, viz., sodium hydroxide, sodium alkoxides, the sodium salt of p-thiocresol, and potassium cyanide, were investigated. A possible reaction mechanism is proposed.
It was shown by means of x-ray diffraction analysis, NMR spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry that, regardless of its phase state, 1-(1′-phenyl-5′-tetrazolyl)-2-phenyl-1,2-dibromoethane (II) exists in the form of the threo conformer (the erythro form is also observed in the gas phase). The thermolysis of II is accompanied by facile splitting out of a molecule of bromine.
The synthesis of fluorine-containing α-dicarbonyl compounds and their derivatives, their chemical properties (including the formation of heterocycles), and their applications are considered. Data emphasising their characteristic features due to the presence of fluorine atoms are presented. The bibliography includes 97 references.

It was established on the basis of IR spectral data that the products of the reaction of 5-(2′-aminophenyl)tetrazole and 4-hydrazinobenzo-1,2,3-triazine with amyl nitrite have the 5-(2′-diazoniaphenyl)tetrazolestructure in the crystalline state. A study of the UV spectra of the latter showed that in methanol solution it exists in equilibrium with the isomeric 4-azidobenzo-1,2,3-triazine.
Two parallel reactions, viz., cyclization of 2-nitro-3-azidopyridine to pyrido-[2,3-c]furoxan, which is aminated in the 6 position of the pyridine ring with opening of the furoxan ring, and reduction of the azido group to form 2-nitro-3-aminopyridine, occur in the reaction of 2-nitro-3-azidopyridine with amines. It was established that pyrido[2,3-c]furoxan reacts with amines in aqueous media in the 1-oxide form.

The available data on the reaction of sym-tetrazines with various unsaturated compounds from 1958 to 1980 are systematized. The reaction of sym-tetrazines with alkenes, alkadienes, alkynes, and unsaturated carbocycles and heterocycles are presented.
New derivatives of the macrocyclic polyether dibenzo-18-crown-6 that contain formazyl groupings in the aromatic rings were synthesized. The complexing ability of the polyether ring and the formazyl groupings was studied. Complexes of two types, viz., those that contain a transition metal and those that simultaneously contain a transition metal and an alkali or alkaline earth metal, were isolated in crystalline form.
