The relationship between workaholism and work performance is explored by meta-analysis in this article. After searching relevant references, we had gained 94 individual effect sizes (n = 57,352), 45 individual samples, and 37 references. Through the heterogeneity test, it was shown that the random effect model is more suitable. The main effect analysis showed that there is a significant positive correlation between workaholism, working excessively, working compulsively, and work performance, and further analysis showed that workaholism emphasizes the improvement of contextual performance. The subgroup test showed that the relationship between workaholism, working excessively, working compulsively, and work performance is influenced by the measurement tools of workaholism, but not influenced by the cultural background differences and time-lag research. The above results show that workaholism and its dimensions have different influences on different aspects of work performance. Besides, it is worthy to consider the moderating function of the measurement tools of workaholism in the relationship between workaholism and work performance.
This paper takes the identity theory as the theoretical background, adopts the empirical research method, takes the embedded work of employees as the antecedent, studies the constructive deviant behaviour of employees, and explores the intermediary mechanism of the identity perception of insiders from the perspectives of role identity. This research use SPSS25.0 version and Mplus 7.0 to analyse the date, some conclusions are as follows: 1) Employees’ embeddedness in work has a significant positive effect on constructive deviant behavior.2) In-work embedding improves the role identity of employees, and has a significant positive impact on employees’ perception of insider identity.3) Insider identity perception play a intermediary role between employees’ embeddedness in work (in-work link, in-work match, in-work sacrifice) and constructive deviant behaviour. Starting from the perspective of double identity, this study has enriched the research on constructive deviant behaviour and provided beneficial reference for organizations to give play to the constructive power of employees in practice.
Rough set theory is a mathematics tool specifying imperfection and uncertainty. Based on the knowledge theory of the rough set, the numerical values of some features or attributes are not required. Through data reduction, this article analyzes the investment decision of hydraulic engineering and obtains the following by reduction: i. when the construction expense of the hydraulic engineering is low, but the financial income is high, the investment in the construction project can be selected; ii. when the expense of the hydraulic construction project is low and the external influence is common or the financial expense is common, if the external influence is low or the financial income is high, the investment can be delayed; iii. when the construction strategic benefit of the hydraulic engineering is low, the decision rule of no investment can be selected. The novel findings discovered by this article have provided scientific information regarding investment decisions of hydraulic engineering.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to explore the relationship between top management team (TMT) internal social capital and strategic decision-making speed, and further explore role of TMT behavioral integration in their relationship. It reveals how TMT internal social capital impacts strategic decision-making speed.Design/methodology/approachOn the basis of the social capital theory and upper echelons theory, at first, a model about TMT internal social capital and strategic decision-making speed is proposed by exploratory case study. Then, the data obtained via questionnaire from 67 TMTs by software SPSS 19.0 and AMOS 17.0 are analyzed, and the theoretical hypotheses as mentioned above are verified.FindingsThe empirical study found that different dimensions of TMT internal social capital have significant positive impact on TMT behavioral integrity; TMT behavioral integrity has significant positive impact on strategic decision-making speed; and TMT behavioral integrity as an intermediary variable played a brokering role in the relationship between TMT internal social capital and strategic decision-making speed.Originality/valueThe study enriches the empirical test on the relationship between TMT internal social capital and decision speed, thereby helping the authors further understand how to improve the speed of strategic decision making in TMT.

PurposeThe aim of this paper is to explore the relationship between leadership style, top management teams' (TMTs') behavioral integration, and strategic decision‐making speed. It reveals how leadership impacts on team progress and strategic decision‐making speed.Design/methodology/approachThe sample was collected from more than ten provinces/cities in China. Factor analysis and structural equation model (SEM) were used to conduct the data.FindingsThe empirical study found that leadership style has a direct positive impact on the speed of strategic decision making, and an indirect positive impact on the speed of strategic decision making through the team behavior integration. The results of SEM show both leadership style and team behavior integration have a significant impact on strategic decision‐making speed. It demonstrates that transformational leadership and transactional leadership have both direct and indirect impact on the speed of strategic decisions. Moreover, transformational leadership has a greater impact than transactional leadership on team behavior integration and strategic decision‐making speed.Originality/valueThe study enriches the empirical test on the relationship between leadership, team and decision speed, therefore helping us further understand how to improve the speed of strategic decision‐making.
Purpose - Two and one half-dimensional (2.5D) grid maps are useful for navigation in outdoor environment or on non-flat surface. However, little attention has been given to how to find an optimal path in a 2.5D grid map. The purpose of this paper is to develop a path-planning method in a 2.5D grid map, which aims to provide an efficient solution to robot path planning no matter whether the robot is equipped with the prior knowledge of the environment.Design/methodology/approach - A 2.5D grid representation is proposed to model non-flat surface for mobile robots. According to the graph extracted from the 2.5D grid map, an improved searching approach derived from A* algorithm is presented for the shortest path planning. With reasonable assumption, the approach is improved for the path planning in unknown environment.Findings - It is confirmed by experiments that the proposed planning approach provide a solution to the problem of optimal path planning in 2.5 grid maps. Furthermore, the experiment results demonstrate that our 2.5D D* method leads to more efficient dynamic path planning for navigation in unknown environment.Originality/value - This paper proposes a path-planning approach in a 2.5D grid map which is used to represent a non-flat surface. The approach is capable of efficient navigation no matter whether the global environmental information is available at the beginning of exploration.

In this article, we empirical test the proposition that Dane, Pratt(2007) [1]proposed. And, it also expands the research about role of intuition in decision making. Furthermore, we study on the relation between the domain knowledge factors and the effectiveness of intuition in decision making. We also have suggested domain knowledge factors that may lead managers to make good decisions quickly.

PurposePath planning approaches based on conventional occupancy grid maps are problematic in off‐road environment because impossible areas include not only obstacles but also landscapes like ramps and pits. The purpose of this paper is to develop a path planning method in a hybrid grid map, which aims to provide a better solution for outdoor navigation.Design/methodology/approachA hybrid vision system which consists of one stereo vision and one omnidirectional vision is adopted to provide environmental information for 2.5D grid and 2D grid mapping, respectively. An improved planning method originated from conventional D*‐based search algorithm is proposed for more efficient navigation in such hybrid grid maps.FindingsIt is confirmed by simulations and experiments that the path planning in the hybrid grid map is more efficient than that in conventional grid maps. Furthermore, it helps to guarantee a safe exploration for field and planetary robots.Originality/valueThis paper proposes a path planning approach in a hybrid grid map representing unstructured environment. The map consists of two different grid representations with diverse resolutions and structures, named 2.5D and 2D grids. The navigation process is expected to become efficient by reducing the replanning times and track length.
Keyword search is the most widely used information retrieval approach which powers the successful web search engines. In recent years because of its user-friendly way it has been applied to RDBMS and several approaches have been proposed. According to a query with a set of keyword terms these approaches can retrieve results from multiple tuples in different relations. However, they only consider keyword terms in tuple instances but ignore the metadata part such as names of relations or attributes. As a matter of fact ordinary users have requirements to raise keywords which may be contained in the metadata part. In this paper, we propose metadata-aware keyword search approach. We define a tuple with annotation as an extension concept of a conventional tuple. Based on the WordNet ontology we calculate the similarity between the query and the metadata part. Furthermore, we propose the weight function which also cares about metadata information. Finally, we implement the query processing scheme in RDBMS in order to prove our proposed approach. We study on the relation of top management team behavior integration, strategic decision-making speed and firm performance towards time-based competition. the behavior integration level of top management team has a positive directly impact on the strategic decision speed. Furthermore, the behavior integration level of top management team has a positive directly impact on the strategic firm performance. Therefore, we can see that the various dimensions of team behavior integrate not only have a direct impact on firm performance but also have indirect impact on firm performance through strategic decision-making speed. Important aspects of this paper are that (1) we research on the relation of top management team behavioral integration, strategic decision speed and firm performance towards time-based competition, and (2) it offers large sample support of a theory begun by Eisenhardt (1989) and Judge and Miller (1991) that decision speed affects firm performance. We also expanded strategic decision speed research by the introduction of team behavior integration.
By applying the modularization theory and on the basis of the systematical analysis about the landmark model and its constituent elements at different stages of the University logistic system socialization reform, this paper puts forward the modularization system of Universities logistics socialization reform, establishes the strategic analysis and implementation framework of the logistics socialization reformation based on the resources and the logistical capacity, constructs the universities logistic socialization reform path selection model based on modularization theory in different systems, and provides a decision-making method to motivate the logistics socialization reform to the universities administrators.
This paper presents a rapid traversability assessment approach based on an extended 2.5D grid-based representaion of the rough terrain. Stereo vision system is used to perceive the environment surrounding robot. Conventional 2D, 3D and other 2.5D grid maps determine the traversability indices of the grids directly from the sensor feedback, while our approach attempts to address the indices of terrain from multiple grids instead. By analyzing the properties of multiple grids that the robot is to traverse, passable grids are distinguished, which also takes the robot's size into account. Fuzzy logic framework is applied to extract traversabiltiy indices from the terrain characteristics. A soccer robot equipped with a stereo vision system is adopted for experiments. The results show that our map is capable of speeding the process of traversability assessment and providing an autonomous mobile robot with a appropriate representation of 3D uneven terrain profile.

Background: Biclustering of gene expression data searches for local patterns of gene expression. A bicluster (or a two-way cluster) is defined as a set of genes whose expression profiles are mutually similar within a subset of experimental conditions/samples. Although several biclustering algorithms have been studied, few are based on rigorous statistical models.Results: We developed a Bayesian biclustering model (BBC), and implemented a Gibbs sampling procedure for its statistical inference. We showed that Bayesian biclustering model can correctly identify multiple clusters of gene expression data. Using simulated data both from the model and with realistic characters, we demonstrated the BBC algorithm outperforms other methods in both robustness and accuracy. We also showed that the model is stable for two normalization methods, the interquartile range normalization and the smallest quartile range normalization. Applying the BBC algorithm to the yeast expression data, we observed that majority of the biclusters we found are supported by significant biological evidences, such as enrichments of gene functions and transcription factor binding sites in the corresponding promoter sequences.Conclusions: The BBC algorithm is shown to be a robust model-based biclustering method that can discover biologically significant gene-condition clusters in microarray data. The BBC model can easily handle missing data via Monte Carlo imputation and has the potential to be extended to integrated study of gene transcription networks.
