All types of bathymetric information and its properties are presented. The entire process of creating bathymetric information, beginning from the planning of the bathymetric survey to the post-processing of bathymetric measurements, is described. This process is expressed in terms of the set theory. Therefore, the description of this very complicated process has become easier and more understandable.
In this paper, an attempt has been made to present the subject and state of the three main functions of each maritime country; these are: the maritime safety, maritime security and maritime defense functions. In this paper, there are presented and discussed the issues regarding the perfection of the information services of the maritime navigation. Although the today developmentpsilas level of information and communications technology (ICT) allow to solve almost every hardware and software issue of information systems, nevertheless there exist very many issues of the maritime navigation information services that considerable impede the safety, security and efficiency of the maritime transport and the protection of the marine environment. The reasons of the above situation is a huge and permanent increase of the kinds and amounts of maritime information that must be taken into account during the realization process of maritime navigation.
