Hairy polyp is a relatively uncommon congenital mass mainly seen in naso-oropharynx.It has been also called as choristoma owing to its bigerminal composition and unexpected location. It is almost always seen at birth and in the early infancy period.Adult presentation is very exceptional and only 5 adult cases have been reported as far as we know.We present a rare case of nasopharyngeal hairy polyp in a 69 year old woman admitted with hearing impairment due to middle ear effusion. We also review the relevant literature. The lesion was totally removed via combined naso-endoscopic and trans-oral approach. After 1 year of follow up there was no sign of recurrence neither in the endoscopic evaluation nor in the magnetic resonance imaging.Although nasopharyngeal hairy polyp frequently leads ear problems exclusively in the infancy period, the presented case is the 1'st adult hairy polyp case with middle ear effusion. Also it is the 2'nd oldest one so far
Inverted papilloma of middle ear is a very rare clinical entity. It has been reported only in the adult population. We report a middle ear inverted papilloma in an 11-year-old male. To the best of our knowledge it is the first pediatric inverted papilloma of middle ear. The patient had a history of chronic suppurative otitis media and the lesion was found during preoperative evaluation for a tympanoplasty procedure. Total excision of the lesion and a tympanoplasty operation was accomplished. We reviewed the middle ear inverted papilloma cases regarding the age distribution, pathophysiology, treatment and prognosis.
We report a rare case of pleomorphic adenoma arising from the lateral nasal wall which was incidentally detected at a very early stage. A 38-year-old man presented to the ophthalmology department with a 2-year history of epiphora from the left eye. He was referred to otorhinolaryngology department as a candidate for endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy. Nasal endoscopy revealed a polypoid mass on the left lateral nasal wall arising near the uncinate process and protruding into the middle meatus. Endoscopic excision of the mass and a concomitant endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy and functional endoscopic sinus surgery were done. Histopathological examination was compatible with pleomorphic adenoma having tumour-negative surgical margins. He was free from the disease 24 months after the surgery.

Gradenigo's syndrome is characterized by otorrhoea, facial pain in regions innervated by the first and second division of trigeminal nerve and ipsilateral abducens nerve paralysis. It's a very rare complication of otitis media caused by the infection of the petrous apex. Gradenigo's syndrome has traditionally been treated with aggressive surgical methods and concurrent antibiotherapy. We report a case of a 56-year-old man which was successfully treated by conservative means (ventilation tube insertion and antibiotherapy).
