Cisplatin is a chemotherapeutic agent that widely used in the treatment of cancer. However, cisplatin has been reported to induce nephrotoxicity by directly inducing inflammatory response and oxidative stress. In this study, we aimed to investigate the protective effects and mechanism of xanthohumol on cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity. The model of nephrotoxicity was induced by intraperitoneal injection of cisplatin and xanthohumol was given intraperitoneally for three consecutive days. The results showed that xanthohumol significantly attenuated kidney histological changes and serum creatinine and BUN production. The levels of TNF-α, IL-1ß and IL-6 in kidney tissues were suppressed by xanthohumol. The levels of malondialdehyde (MDA) and ROS were suppressed by treatment of xanthohumol. The activities of glutathione (GSH) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) decreased by cisplatin were reversed by xanthohumol. Furthermore, the expression of TLR4 and the activation of NF-κB induced by cisplatin were significantly inhibited by xanthohumol. The expression of Nrf2 and HO-1 were dose-dependently up-regulated by the treatment of xanthohumol. In conclusion, xanthohumol protects against cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity by ameliorating inflammatory and oxidative responses.
目的 探讨健康体检人群血清尿酸水平对外周血常规各指标的影响.方法 以2015年1~12月在中国人民解放军总医院健康管理研究院国际部进行健康体检且资料完整的9167例体检人员作为研究对象,回顾总结研究对象的年龄、性别、体质量指数(BMI)、腰臀围比(WHR)、血常规、尿常规等指标.结果 9167例体检者中男性6171例,女性2996例,年龄16~87岁,平均(49.41±8.98)岁,其中男性平均年龄(49.21±8.52)岁,女性(49.81±9.84)岁;人群总的高尿酸血症患病率为20.66%(1894/9167);男性尿酸浓度为121~796μmol/L,平均(379.51±77.69)μmol/L,女性为84~576μmol/L,平均(270.13±57.88)μmol/L;男性高尿酸血症患病率为27.50%,明显高于女性的6.58%,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05);男性组随年龄增加高尿酸血症患病率逐渐下降(P<0.05),女性组随年龄增加高尿酸血症患病率增加(P<0.05);男性高尿酸血症组的尿酸水平明显高于女性高尿酸组,正常尿酸组男女间比较差异也具有统计学意义(P<0.05);BMI和WHR超标、尿液pH值较低的人群中,高尿酸血症患病率均明显高于正常指标范围内人群,差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05);相关分析表明,血尿酸与血常规指标之间存在相关性,其中男性高尿酸组白细胞计数(r=0.064,P<0.05)、红细胞计数(r=0.063,P<0.05)、血小板计数(r=0.053,P<0.05)和血红蛋白(r=0.049,P<0.05)明显高于尿酸正常组并呈正相关,而尿酸水平与年龄呈负相关(r=-0.154,P<0.05);女性组除中性粒细胞外,高尿酸组的年龄(r=0.151,P<0.05)和白细胞计数(r=0.13,P<0.05)、红细胞计数(r=0.126,P<0.05)、红细胞比积(r=0.137,P<0.05)、血红蛋白(r=0.158,P<0.05)和血小板计数(r=0.073,P<0.05)均高于正常尿酸组并呈正相关.结论 男性高尿酸血症患病率明显高于女性;BMI和WHR超标以及尿液pH值下降与高尿酸血症的发生有关;高尿酸血症引起外周血常规指标的一系列改变,血常规指标可作为观察高尿酸血症的生物学指标之一.
Objective To investigate the incidence of adverse cardiovascular events in patients with acute coronary syndrome ( ACS) and type 2 diabetes mellitus ( DM) .Methods Five hudred and sixty-eight patients with ACS diagnosed in PLA General Hospital from April 2007 to April 2008 were divided into ACS with diabetes mellitus group ( n =125 ) and ACS without diabetes group ( n =443).Collected the clinical data and follow-up questionnaires and follow-up study for end point of adverse cardiovascular events ( including angina , myocardial infarction , cardiogenic shock , cardiac death , target vessel re-vascularization and stent thrombosis ) , comparative analysis of clinical features and prognosis of ACS patients with type 2 dia-betes group and ACS without type 2 diabetic patients.Results The median follow-up time was 8 years, with a median follow-up of 7.3 years.A total of 546 cases (96.13%) patients completed follow-up, ACS with diabetes group MACE was higher than patients without diabetes group (44.8%vs.14.3%,χ2 =10.876, P =0.035), Cox regression analysis showed that age, fasting blood glucose were significant risk of adverse cardiovascular events predictor ( OR =1.003, 95%CI1 .001-1.031, OR =1.533, P =00.38 ;95%CI 1.131-2.077, P =0.012).Conclusions Patients with ACS complicated with type 2 diabetes mellitus are at high risk of major adverse cardiac events .Fasting plasma glucose is a predictor of MACE .
Purpose: To study the protective effects of total saponins from Ilex pubescens Hook (IPTS) against cardiomyocyte apoptosis.Methods: Response surface methodology (RSM) based on Box-Benhnken Design (BBD) was carried out to optimize the extraction of IPTS. Thereafter, H9c2 cell model prepared by hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) treatment was used to investigate the effects of IPTS on cardiomyocyte apoptosis. Cell viability was determined using MTT assay, while the levels of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD), creatine kinase (CK) and catalase (CAT) were measured as indices of oxidative stress. Expressions of proteins related to apoptosis (caspase-3, Bax and Bcl-2) were measured using Western blot assay.Results: Optimal IPTS extraction was achieved with extraction temperature of 86.6 °C, extraction time of 2.23 h and water: raw material ratio of 10.8 mL/g. IPTS extract, at doses of 200, 400, 600 and 800 μg/mL, significantly increased the viability of H2O2-treated H9c2 cells (p < 0.05), but significantly decreased LDH and CK activities (p < 0.01). It also led to significant increases in SOD and CAT activities, and significant decreases in the levels of MDA in these cells (p < 0.01). There were significant down-regulation of the protein expressions of caspase-3 and Bax (p < 0.01) in IPTS-treated H9c2 cells, as well as significant up-regulation of Bcl-2 protein expression (p < 0.01).Conclusion: These results suggest that IPTS can protect cardiomyocytes against apoptosis via the inhibition of oxidative stress and mitochondria-induced intrinsic apoptosis.Keywords: Ilex pubescens, Total saponins, Cardiomyocytes, Apoptosis, H9c2 cells
目的 分析高血压患者静息能量消耗变化并探讨其影响因素.方法 选取2013年1月-2015年1月本院健康管理研究院健康体检2 007例为研究对象,平均年龄(49.7±8.2)岁,男性1 438例,女性569例.进行常规体格检查,测定身高、体质量、腰围、臀围、体脂肪量和体脂肪率,检测血生化指标血糖、血脂和血清尿酸水平,采用美国Healthe Tech公司代谢仪测量静息能量消耗,对比高血压组与非高血压组(对照组)的静息能量消耗变化特点.结果 高血压组597例,男性485例,女性112例,平均年龄(51.6±8.2)岁;对照组1 410例,男性953例,女性457例,平均年龄(48.9±8.1)岁,高血压组静息能量消耗(1 613±143.5) kJ/d高于对照组(1 518±138.0) kJ/d(P<0.05),高血压组随着年龄的增加,静息能量消耗降低,男性高血压患者静息能量消耗明显高于女性(P< 0.001),肥胖高血压患者静息能量消耗明显升高(P<0.001).多元线性回归分析高血压患者静息能量消耗的影响因素有年龄、性别、体脂肪率、臀围、HbA1C.结论 不同年龄和性别的高血压患者静息能量消耗有差异,高血压患者糖代谢水平对静息能量消耗有影响,高血压患者需要重视血糖管理.
目的 探讨热断层成像(TTM)检查对甲状腺和乳腺疾病筛查的应用价值.方法 以2010年1月一2014年12月在解放军总医院行健康体检的人群为研究对象,其中甲状腺检查1 562例,乳腺检查452例,以B型超声检查结果为金标准,比较分析TTM、手法触诊对甲状腺和乳腺检查的诊断价值.结果 1 562例甲状腺检查对象中,女性甲状腺超声异常检出率明显高于男性(65.71% vs.46.94%,x2=45.37,P=0.000).452例女性乳腺体检者中,乳腺超声检查异常率66.15%,乳腺异常组年龄小于乳腺正常组[(51.53±6.94)岁vs.(54.42±8.06)岁,t=3.96,P =0.000].甲状腺手法触诊和TTM检查特异度较高,乳腺手法触诊和TTM检查灵敏度较高.无论是手法触诊还是TTM检查,与B型超声检查比较,可靠性均较差(Youden指数为0.138 6~0.221 8).以B型超声检查结果为金标准,甲状腺手法触诊、TTM检查与超声检查一致性较差(Kappa=0.215 0、0.137 6).乳腺手法触诊与超声检查一致性较差(Kappa=0.191 0);乳腺TTM检查与超声检查一致性中等(Kappa =0.562 5).甲状腺、乳腺手法触诊检查、TTM检查与超声检查一致性的ROC曲线下面积(AUC)分别是0.61、0.59、0.56和0.57.结论 TTM在甲状腺疾病筛查中与B型超声检查比较,一致性较差;在乳腺疾病筛查中与超声检查一致性呈中等水平.与B型超声检查比较,TTM作为诊断方法诊断准确性较低.因此,其应用价值需要进一步探讨.
Apigenin (API) has a variety of pharmacological activities, mainly including anti-tumor, anti-oxidative stress, anti-DNA damage and so on. To determine the neuroprotection of API against diabetes-associated cognitive decline (DACD) a diabetic rat model and exploring its potential mechanism. Diabetic rat model was induced by intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin. All experiment animals treated with vehicle or API by doses of 10, 20 and 40 mg/kg for seven weeks. Firstly, the body weight and blood glucose levels were detected. We used morris water maze test to evaluate learning and memory function. The oxidative indicators (malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione (GSH)), cNOS, iNOS, caspase-3 and caspase-9 were measured in cerebral cortex and hippocampus using corresponding commercial kits. Bax protein expression was measured by western blot analysis. API can increase body weight, reduce the blood glucose levels, and improve the cognitive function in rats induced by diabetes. API can decrease the MDA content, and increase SOD activity and GSH level of diabetic animals in the cerebral cortex and hippocampus of diabetic rats. Meanwhile, cNOS, iNOS, caspase-3/9 and Bax protein expression were markedly exhibited in the cerebral cortex and hippocampus of diabetic rats. In summary, our current work discloses that API attenuates DACD in rats via suppressing oxidative stress, nitric oxide and apoptotic cascades synthase pathway. These findings point towards the therapeutic potential of API in DACD.
CONTEXT:The serious side effect of Adriamycin (ADR) is cardiomyopathy. Cryptotanshinone (CRY) is widely and safely used as antioxidant with MTD more than 5 mg/g in rats (p.o). OBJECTIVE:The objective of this study is to study the protection effects of CRY against ADR-induced mitochondrial dysfunction in cardiomyocytes. MATERIALS AND METHODS:The chemical administration lasted for 20 days with an effective dose of CRY (p.o.) at 50 mg/kg in rats. Mitochondrial respiratory chain complex activities, ATP generation, mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP), superoxide anion free radical, oxidative stress-relative enzymes, and mitochondrial biogenesis-relative factors in normal control, ADR (i.p., 1.25 mg/kg), and ADR (i.p., 1.25 mg/kg) + CYP (p.o., 50 mg/kg) groups were detected. RESULTS:50 mg/kg CRY significantly promoted the energy production of ATP (16.99 ± 2.38 nmol/g Pro) (Pro: Protein) by increasing the complexes activities except II (p > 0.05). After the treatment of CRY, the suppressed MMP was increased while superoxide anion free radical (0.57 ± 0.07/mg Pro) was inhibited markedly. Mitochondrial biogenesis-relative factors PGC-1α, NRF-1, and TFAM were also promoted. Remarkable augmentations of NO, inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), and increased activity of GSH-PX (p < 0.05) were also detected after the treatment of CRY, while no obvious changes on the activity of nitric oxide synthase (cNOS; p > 0.05) were observed. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION:These results suggest that CRY protects against ADR-induced mitochondrial dysfunction in cardiomyocytes. It could be an ideal potential drug of cardioprotection.
Objective To analyze the clinical characteristics of eosinophilic cystitis , explore the clinical diagnosis and treatment principles .Methods We reported 1 case of eosinophilic cystitis , and retrospective analysis the literature from January 1986 to December 2014 which related to eosinophilic cystitis .Results The eosinophilic cystitis patients were con-firmed by cystoscopy, biopsy.119 patients were male, 61 patients were female, the age were 0.8~78 (38.5 ±18.5) years, symptom included gross or microscopic hematuria (68.89%) and frequent urination, urgency, dysuria (46.67%).Other symptoms included suprapubic pain (30.56%), dysuria (30.00%), low back pain (7.18%), and urinary retention (2.78%).The vast majority of patients with no abnormal signs (86.11%), some patients showed suprapubic tenderness (10.56%), abdomen bag block (3.33%) and kidney area pain (3.33%).The abnormal positive rate of imaging examina-tion was 93.50%(115/123) of CT, 91.39%(138/151) of ultrasound, and 77.65%(66/85) of IVU.The lesions showed multiple and diffuse lesions in 76 cases (44.71%), bladder triangle area lesions in 23 cases (13.53%), left, right, and bi-lateral orificium ureteris in 24 cases (14.12%), right wall in 22 cases (12.94%), posterior wall in 19 cases (11.18%), bladder basal area in 13 cases (7.56%), left wall and bladder top area in 9 cases (5.29%), anterior wall and bladder neck in 6 cases (3.53%), and concurrent hydronephrosis in 37 cases (20.55%), significantly reduced bladder capacity ,bladder filling difficult or impossible to filling in 19 cases (10 M.55%), urinary retention in 10 patients (5.56%), bladder stones in 2 cases (1.11%), tumor surface sand-like calcification and bladder neck sclerosis in 1 case (0.56%).After the diagnosis, internal-medical therapy alone in 59 cases (32.78%), partial resection of the bladder in 31 cases (17.22%), partial cystec-tomy +medical treatment in 25 cases (13.89%), cystoscopy treatment +medical treatment in 23 cases (12.78%), sim-ple bladder mirror in 18 cases (10.00%), cystectomy and autologous bladder augmentation in 1 case (0.56%), and 22 ca-ses (12.22%) with medical treatment were not described in detail .The patients were cured of 156 cases (86.67%).Con-clusion The eosinophilic cystitis occurs in all ages , more men than women .Common symptoms including hematuria , urinary frequency, urgency, dysuria, and suprapubic pain, dysuria.Transurethral resection of bladder lesions , combined with corti-costeroid, anti-allergy and other comprehensive treatment , the majority of patients showed good prognosis .
目的 研究血管紧张素Ⅱ和坎地沙坦对小鼠骨骼肌细胞(C2C12)胰岛素敏感性的影响及其机制.方法 C2C12诱导分化成熟后,分为对照组(C组)、模型组(M组:AngⅡ)、坎地沙坦低剂量组(CanⅠ组:坎地沙坦0.1 μM+ AngⅡ)、坎地沙坦中剂量组(Can2组:坎地沙坦1μM+ AngⅡ)、坎地沙坦高剂量组(Can3组:坎地沙坦10 μM+ AngⅡ).各组细胞给予相应药物及胰岛素处理后,检测2-脱氧葡萄糖(2-NBDG)的摄取率,并用RT-PCR法和Western印记法分别检测各组细胞中磷脂酰肌醇3激酶(PI3K)、蛋白激酶B(Akt)和胰岛素受体底物分子-1(ISR-1)的mRNA及蛋白表达水平.结果 M组摄取2-NBDG较C组明显降低(P<0.01),而Can3组摄取2-NBDG则较M明显增加(P<0.05).M组ISR-1和Akt的mRNA表达较C组明显降低(P<0.01),Can2组及Can3组ISR-1、PI3K和Atk的mRNA表达较M组明显升高(P<0.05).M组p-ISR-1和p-Akt蛋白表达较C组明显降低(P<0.01),Can2组及Can3组p-ISR-1和p-Akt较M组明显升高(P<0.05).结论 AngⅡ通过下调胰岛素信号通路中重要因子ISR-1、Akt的mRNA及蛋白表达抑制胰岛素的生物学效应,引起骨骼肌细胞胰岛素抵抗;而坎地沙坦通过抑制AngⅡ的这种作用改善骨骼肌胰岛素抵抗.
Objective To investigate the effects of Candesartan and Angiotensin II (Ang II) on insulin sensitivity of mouse C2C12 myotubes, and discuss the possible mechanism. Methods Mature C2C12 myotubes were divided into 4 groups: control group (group C), model group (group M, Ang II 0.1 μmol/L), low dose Candesartan group (Can1 group, Candesartan 0.1μmol/L+AngII 0.1μmol/L), mild dose Candesartan group (Can2 group, Candesartan 1μmol/L+AngII0.1μmol/L) and high dose Candesartan group (Can3 group, Candesartan 10μmol/L+AngII 0.1μmol/L). After the in-tervention of angiotensinII and insulin, the uptake of 2-deoxyglucose (2-NBDG) by C2C12 myotubes was measured in each group as well as the level of reactive oxygen species (ROS). The mRNA and protein expression of Nrf2 were mea-sured by RT-PCR and Western blotting assay. Results Compared with the group C, the uptake of 2-NBDG in the group M was significantly decreased (P<0.01), the mRNA and protein expression of Nrf2 in group M was significantly decreased (P<0.01), at the same time, the level of ROS was increased significantly (P<0.01). Compared with group M, the uptake of 2-NBGD was increased obviously in Can3 group (P< 0.05). The mRNA and protein expression of Nrf2 in group M were decreased than those in group C (P< 0.01), the mRNA and protein expression of Nrf2 in the Can2 group and Can3 group were significantly increased than those in group M (P < 0.01 or P< 0.05). Conclusion AngiotensinII can cause the insulin resistance of the skeletal muscle cells by reducing the mRNA and protein expres-sion of Nrf2, controling Nrf2 oxidation effect, increasing ROS produce; Candesartan can improve skeletal muscle cells insulin resistance by reverse the effect of AngII on Nrf2 and improve the overload of ROS in the cells.
Objective To investigate helicobacter pylori ( Hp ) infection status in Chinese population underwent health check-up of, and provides reference for health management of Hp infection control and infection prevention .Methods From January 2010 to December 2013 , retrospectively review the hospital related data of 10 331 cases of healthy population , compared the relationship between gastroscopic and related factors , the total infection rate of Hp under different pathological changes , Hp infection rate between Hp infection and the degree of endoscopic lesions .Results Health examination data of 10 331 people, including 7 158 males and 3 173 females, age ranged from 16 to 88 (49.81 ±8.11) years old.The overall Hp infection rate was 44.42% (4 589/10 331).Hp infected people, active Hp infection rate in male is higher than female (45.21%vs.42.64%P =0.015 4).Hp infected persons aged younger than no Hp infection (49.46 ±7.98)vs.(50.09 ± 8.21), P =0.000 1).Hp infection has no relationship with whether the individual has symptoms of digestive system or not , hypertension , diabetes , hyperlipidemia and whether concomitant cholelithiasis , smoking had no effect on the rates of Hp infec-tion, Hp infection rate did not increase in the drinkers .The Hp infection rate was different in different age groups .Male and female Hp infection peak was in 30 ~age groups , and then decreased gradually , there were no significant differences between the 2 groups of men and women of all ages Hp infection .Endoscopy:reflux esophagitis Hp infection rate was significantly lower than that of normal esophageal ( P <0.01).Gastric and duodenal endoscopy revealed that different lesion has different Hp infection rate:stomach diseases with high infection rate in chronic non atrophic gastritis with acute inflammation (80 f.27%), gastric ulcer (75.75%), chronic atrophic gastritis with acute inflammation (75.00%) and chronic atrophic gastritis (66.67%), it was significantly higher than that in normal gastric mucosa ( P <0.05 or P <0.01);in duodenum diseases, duodenal ulcer (85.53%) and duodenitis (54.05%)’s Hp infection rate increased significantly compared with the normal duodenal ( P =0.000).Other gastric and duodenal disease infection rate of Hp showed no significant difference compared with normal subjects( P >0.05).The DOB value of endoscopic mucosal lesions stratified analysis showed that the more serious the high DOB value , the higher the proportion .Conclusion Hp infection rate in healthy examination population is lower than the national average infection rate of natural population .Hp infected people , age peak was in 30 ~age.Endoscopic gastric mucosal inflammatory responses and atrophic gastritis of Hp infection rate is higher .Endoscopic mucosal lesions are heavier , breath test HISTEP DOB higher value are showed higher proportion .
Objective To explore the clinical characteristics of acute medications poisoning and provide preventive measures.Methods To analyze the current status of acute medications poisoning by epidemiology,235 hospitalized poisoning patients in Chinese PLA General Hospital from 1993 to 2011 were retrospectively reviewed.Results 235 cases of patients, male 116 cases,female 119 cases,age(49.4±27.8) years old.10 died,the mortality rate was 4.26%.Iatrogenic intoxication mainly found in the older crowd,mostly wrongly to preschoolers,suicidal tendencies,mostly found in young patients(P0.01).Source Analysis by poisoning drugs,iatrogenic and wrongly poisoning drugs varied,with digoxin is more concentrated(89.74%),suicidal tendencies mainly benzodiazepines(63.46%),analgesic(86.67%) and the ring antidepressants(83.33%).Conclusion General hospital with acute poisoning common variety of sources,mine common in older people with iatrogenic poisoning,mainly wrongly poisoning children,young(especially women) are mostly suicidal tendencies, should raise the rational use of drugs,strengthen drug management,focus on psychological adjustment.
Objective To investigate the effect of obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS) on blood pressure and high sensitive C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) in male hypertension patients.Methods A total of 188 newly diagnosed male hypertension patients received sleeping apnea monitor and divided into 4 groups according the hypopnea index (AHI),control group(AHI≤5,re =35),mild OSAHS group(5 AHI≤15,n =28),moderate OSAHS group(15 AHI≤30,n = 57),and severe OSAHS group(AHI 30,n = 68).All the patients received ambulatory blood pressure monitor the next day.The blood sample of patients were taken to test fasting blood glucose(FPG),triglyceride(TG),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),hs-CRP.Results Compared with control group,the serum TG and hs-CRP level were significantly higher in moderate and severe OSAHS group patients(P 0.01, P 0.05).At the same time,compared with control group,the patients had increased mean systolic blood pressure at night (nSBP) and mean diastolic blood pressure at night(nDBP) in these two groups(P 0.01,P 0.05),as well as the nocturnal blood pressure reduction percentage decreased significantly(P 0.01).The AHI and hs-CRP were both independently and positively correlated with the nSBP and nDBP.At the same time,they were both independently and negatively correlated with the nocturnal blood pressure reduction percentage.Conclusion Server OSAHS can increase patient's blood pressure at night,while increase the serum hs-CRP level and further damaging the circadian rhythm of blood pressure.
目的 探讨乙哌立松联合阿米替林治疗慢性紧张型头痛的临床效果.方法 选择慢性紧张型头痛患者115例,随机分为观察组60例,对照组55例.观察组患者给予阿米替林25 mg口服,每天1次,同时给予盐酸乙哌立松50 mg口服,每天3次.对照组患者给予盐酸乙哌立松50 mg口服,每天3次.2组患者疗程均为30 d.结果 观察组头痛程度缓解总有效率(98.3%)与对照组总有效率(89.1%)比较,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05).2组治疗后发作频率、发作持续时间及VAS评分均显著减少(P<0.05),且观察组优于对照组(P<0.05).结论 乙哌立松联合阿米替林能够显著改善慢性紧张型头痛患者临床症状,临床效果显著,值得借鉴.
Astragalus mongholicus Bunge has long been used to treat cardiovascular disease in Chinese traditional medicine. However, its mechanisms are not fully understood. In this study, we explored potential mechanisms and protective effects of total flavonoids of Astragalus (TFA) on cardiovascular disease using in vitro experiments and diet-induced atherosclerotic rabbits. We identified six components and their proportion in TFA. The animal experiments showed that TFA significantly reduced plasma levels of total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol (P < 0.05 to 0.01), increased HDL cholesterol levels (P < 0.01), and reduced the aortic fatty streak area by 43.6 to 63.6% (P < 0.01). We also found that TFA scavenged superoxide and hydroxyl radicals and this effect increased with higher TFA concentration. In in vivo experiments, TFA effectively inhibited the free radical spectrum in the ischemia-reperfusion module. In conclusion, TFA was the active component of Astragalus mongholicus Bunge, which benefits cardiovascular disease attributing to the potent antioxidant activity to improve the atherosclerosis profile.

Objective To analyze the health state and health risk factors on senior management population from 861 cases.Methods The body mass index,BP,blood fat,blood glucose,diet habit and sport sytle of 861 cases of senior management were statistically analyzed,and the health state and health risk factors from different genders and age brackets were compared and analyzed.Results Age bracket 45~54 took the most of 861 cases examined,which had 435 cases with a percentage of 50.5%.More than 66% cases had more than or equal to 1 chronic diseases.The top 4 chronic diseases of 861 examined cases were hypertension(30.0%),hemorrhoid(22.0%),chronic gastritis/gastric ulcer (17.0%) and diabetes(14.9%);the top 4 health risk factors were larger waist circumference(74.0%),absence of fresh vegetables and fruits(58.0%),inadequate physical activity(55.0%) and overweight(49.8%);the top 4 diseases risks were diabetes(34.0%),coronary heart disease(16.0%),stroke(13.0%)and lung cancer(12.5%),and the examined rate of health risk factors of the male was higher than thao of the female.Conclusion The hypertension,hemorrhoid,chronic gastritis/gastric ulcer and diabetes in examined senior management population has a higher incidence,and the health status of the male was particularly poor,which was significant for the senior management population to discover earlier.We should strengthen the intervention to the life style of senior management population,and control the health risk factors via early discovery and earth treatment,so as to improve the health of senior management population.
Objective To observe the effects of left ventricular injection of diltiazem at different time on stunned myocardium in rats. Methods Twenty-five Wistar male rats were randomly divided into 5 groups of 5 rats each:group A was sham operated, group B was myocardial stunned, group C was injected with diltiazem into left ventricle during ischemia while group D was injected during early reperfusion and group E was injected at late stage of reperfusion. The heart rate (HR), left ventricular end-systolic pressure (LVESP), left ventricular end-diastolic pressure (LVEDP), left ventricular pressure maximum upstroke velocity and descending velocity (±dp/dt_(max)) of each group were observed. Results Compared with group A, the HR of other groups increased and LVESP, LVEDP and ±dp/dt_(max) descended except reperfusion for 30,60,90 and 120 min in group C and reperfusion for 90 and 120 min in group D (P<0.05). After reperfusion for 30 min in group C and after reperfusion for 90 min in group D,the HR,LVESP,LVEDP and ±dp/dt_(max) recovered to the preoperative baseline values. Compared with group B,after reperfusion for 15,30,60,90 and 120 min in group C and after reperfusion for 90 and 120 min in group D,the HR descended, LVESP, LVEDP and ±dp/dt_(max) were improved. Conclusion Injection of diltiazem into left ventricle during ischemia or early reperfusion can promote the recovery of stunned myocardial function, but injection at late stage of reperfusion has no effect on cardiac function.
An 82-year-old man was admitted to our hospital because of resistant hypertension, heart failure and atrial fibrillation combined with high-grade atrioventricular block. The patient had intermittent oedema in the bilateral lower limbs for about 10 years. The conditions were aggravated and combined with chest distress and breathlessness for about 1 month. The laboratory tests showed that the blood urea nitrogen and creatinine increased. The pre-brain natriuretic peptide was 3064.5 pg/mL. Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring showed that maximal blood pressure was 184/82 mmHg during the day and 184/71 mmHg during the night. A 24-hour Holter monitor study showed that the patient had persistent atrial fibrillation accompanied by a slow ventricular rate. The lowest heart rate was 35 beats per minute (bpm) and the longest R-R interval was 2.46 seconds. The patient had a VVI mode single-chamber permanent pacemaker implanted to treat arrhythmia. The pacing frequency was set at 60 bpm. Following implantation, the patient’s chest distress and shortness of breath improved and nocturnal paroxysmal dyspnoea was not apparent. No rales or crackles were heard in either lung field and peripheral oedema lessened. An ECG showed that heart rate fluctuated from 60 to 70 bpm and rhythm was irregular. Specifically, blood pressure was under control and fluctuated from 101/55 to 140/70 mmHg. Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring showed that maximal blood pressure was 150/84 mmHg during the day and 158/78 mmHg during the night. The number and dose of antihypertensive drugs reduced. VVI mode permanent pacemaker implantation contributed to the treatment of resistant hypertension in an elderly patient with heart failure, atrial fibrillation combined with advanced artrioventricular block. Moreover, VVI mode pacemaker implantation improved renal function and decreased the pressure of the pulmonary artery.
