Accurate waveform models for coalescing binaries on eccentric orbits are crucial for avoiding biases in the analysis of eccentric gravitational-wave signals. The effective-one-body (EOB) formalism combines various analytical approximation methods with information derived from numerical-relativity simulations, and it has proven reliable in modeling the inspiral-merger-ringdown waveform of binaries on generic orbits. In this work, we derive new analytical results within the EOB formalism, specifically addressing eccentric, aligned-spin binaries. For the first time, we obtain EOB results for eccentric orbits that are accurate up to the third post-Newtonian (PN) order for the complete far-zone energy and angular-momentum fluxes, the radiation-reaction (RR) force, and waveform modes (including memory contributions). We obtain these results by deriving transformations from the harmonic to EOB coordinates and from the quasi-Keplerian to the Keplerian parametrization, that properly account for the spin-supplementary condition, postadiabatic contributions, and the gauge freedom in the RR force. We employ these findings to build the inspiral part of the SEOBNRv5EHM waveform model, which includes the 3PN eccentricity contributions in the RR force and waveform modes using the Keplerian parametrization, and augments the EOB equations of motion with PN evolution equations for the Keplerian parameters. The new SEOBNR model achieves much better accuracy than its predecessor SEOBNRv4EHM and other eccentric models, even for eccentricities as high as less than or similar to 0.5.
The measurement of orbital eccentricity in gravitational-wave (GW) signals will provide unique insights into the astrophysical origin of binary systems, while ignoring eccentricity in waveform models could introduce significant biases in parameter estimation and tests of general relativity. Upcoming LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA observing runs are expected to detect a subpopulation of eccentric signals, making it vital to develop accurate waveform models for eccentric orbits. Here, employing recent analytical results through the third post-Newtonian order, we develop SEOBNRv5EHM: a new time-domain, effective-one-body, multipolar waveform model for eccentric binary black holes with spins aligned (or antialigned) with the orbital angular momentum. Besides the dominant (2, 2) mode, the model includes the (2, 1), (3, 3), (3, 2), (4, 4), and (4, 3) modes. We validate the model's accuracy by computing its unfaithfulness against 99 (28 public and 71 private) eccentric numerical-relativity (NR) simulations, produced by the Simulating eXtreme Spacetimes Collaboration. Importantly, for NR waveforms with initial GW eccentricities below 0.5, the maximum (2, 2)-mode unfaithfulness across the total mass range 20-200M circle dot is consistently below or close to 1%, with a median value of similar to 0.02%, reflecting an accuracy improvement of approximately an order of magnitude compared to the previous-generation SEOBNRv4EHM and the state-of-the-art TEOBResumS-Dal & iacute; eccentric model. In the quasi-circular-orbit limit, SEOBNRv5EHM is in excellent agreement with the highly accurate SEOBNRv5HM model. The accuracy, robustness, and speed of SEOBNRv5EHM make it suitable for data analysis and astrophysical studies. We demonstrate this by performing a set of recovery studies of synthetic NR-signal injections, and parameter-estimation analyses of the events GW150914 and GW190521, which we find to have no eccentricity signatures.
Introduction Slow, and ultraslow infusions of low-dose thrombolytic therapy (TT) offer promising alternatives for prosthetic valve thrombosis (PVT) management while minimizing bleeding risks. Hypothesis Reporting our real-world experience and clinical outcomes of utilizing alteplase low-dose (25 mg), slow (infused over 6 hours), and ultraslow (infused over 25 hours) TT regimens per our institutional pharmacist-led protocol, will contribute to the growing body of evidence supporting pharmacologic approaches for PVT management. Methods We conducted a retrospective cross-sectional study at a multispecialty quaternary care hospital in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). We evaluated the use of low-dose, slow, and ultraslow alteplase regimens for PVT treatment in patients who presented to our hospital with heart failure (HF) symptoms. Baseline demographics, alteplase regimen and dose, concomitant medications, NYHA stage, thrombosis and bleeding history, relevant laboratory findings, and echocardiographic data were collected from patients’ medical records. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize demographic, baseline characteristics and outcomes. Results We identified 12 patients who received low-dose alteplase for PVT, 50 % (6) and 41.7% (5) respectively presented with NYHA class II and III HF symptoms. Moreover, 58.33 % (7) had mitral valve thrombosis, 33.33 % (4) had aortic valve thrombosis, and one patient had thrombi in both valves. The median INR on admission was 2.3 (1.2-7.5), and 1.4 (1.1-2.4) before thrombolysis (Table 1). The ultra-slow alteplase infusion protocol was used in 91.7% (11) of the studied patients, while 16.66% (2) of them received the slow protocol. The median administered dose was 47.9 mg (25-125 mg), delivered in 1-5 doses (Table 2). Clinical success, defined as complete or partial resolution of valve thrombosis, was achieved in 50% (16) of patients after a single dose, in 83.3% (10) after two doses and in 16.66% (2) after 4 and 5 doses (Figure 1) (Table 2). The median length of hospital stay was 18.4 (7-38) days. Only one patient experienced a systemic embolic event (stroke) despite alteplase treatment. One-third of the patients had bleeding complications, with only one major bleeding event. All patients survived at 1-month follow-up, and only one required valve surgery (Table 2). Echo findings are summarized in Table 3. Conclusion Despite the inherit limitations of a retrospective observational study, our results provide real -world data on the success of TT use in symptomatic patients with PVT. Larger studies are needed to further explore optimal thrombolytic regimens based on HF symptoms at presentation.
In this work, we test an effective-one-body radiation-reaction force for eccentric planar orbits of a test mass in a Kerr background, which contains third-order post-Newtonian (PN) nonspinning and second-order PN spin contributions. We compare the analytical fluxes connected to two different resummations of this force, truncated at different PN orders in the eccentric sector, with the numerical fluxes computed through the use of frequency- and time-domain Teukolsky-equation codes. We find that the different PN truncations of the radiation-reaction force show the expected scaling in the weak gravitational-field regime, and we observe a fractional difference with the numerical fluxes that is <5%, for orbits characterized by eccentricity 0≤e≤0.7, central black-hole spin −0.99M≤a≤0.99M and fixed orbital-averaged quantity x=⟨MΩ⟩2/3=0.06, corresponding to the mildly strong-field regime with semilatera recta 9M
LISA, the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna, will usher in a new era in gravitational-wave astronomy. As the first anticipated space-based gravitational-wave detector, it will expand our view to the millihertz gravitational-wave sky, where a spectacular variety of interesting new sources abound: from millions of ultra-compact binaries in our Galaxy, to mergers of massive black holes at cosmological distances; from the beginnings of inspirals that will venture into the ground-based detectors' view to the death spiral of compact objects into massive black holes, and many sources in between. Central to realising LISA's discovery potential are waveform models, the theoretical and phenomenological predictions of the pattern of gravitational waves that these sources emit. This white paper is presented on behalf of the Waveform Working Group for the LISA Consortium. It provides a review of the current state of waveform models for LISA sources, and describes the significant challenges that must yet be overcome.
Objective: This study aimed to assess the avidity of IgG antibodies against Toxoplasma gondii in fertile-aged women with a history of abortion. Using the recomLine Toxoplasma IgG Avidity kit, the research investigated the relationship between antibody avidity, T. gondii antigens (GRA1 and SAG1), and the number of abortions to enhance understanding of infection dynamics in this population. Methods : Forty (40)fertile aged women (18-37years) with history of abortion and had positive results of IgG Abs by minividus form October 2021 to April 2022 ,Kit of recomLine Toxoplasma IgG Avidity form Mikrogen /Germany,item No.11010, was used ,which is a qualitative in vitro test for the determination the avidity of IgG antibodies against Toxoplasma gondii in human serum or plasma. Results: Phase II of toxoplasmosis was positive of antibodies against different antigens detected by recomLine assay, no other significant relation was observed. Also, that there was no significant relation between the period of infection and avidity of IgG –Abs against different antigens of T.gondii detected by recomLine test. In addition The results showed that there was a significant relation between of the number of abortions to GRA1-antigen (P=0.012) and SAG1-antigen (P=0.003) . Conclusion: There was a significant relation between of the number of abortions to GRA1 and SAG1-antigens detected by recomLine assay ,where increase in the positive results with the increase in the number of abortions.
The study was carried out to detection of H.pylori in (200) patients who attended two teaching hospitals in Baghdad. The diagnosis done by Immunochromatography methods. Stools and blood samples was taken from each patient as well as other (30) healthy control matching in their age. The study included detection the Levels of Interleukin-40 and CRP in sera of patients and control. The result indicated presence of H pylori antigen in 115 cases 59 cases of males and 51 of females, Also, the result indicated increasing levels of IL-40, cholesterol, Triglycerides, Low density lipoprotein, Very Low density lipoprotein increased significantly while the level of High density lipoprotein decreased in patients sera in comparison with healthy control.

BACKGROUND:HPVs are considered to have high-oncogenic risk. These genotypes have been proven to have a causal link to cancers, in pediatric and youth patients, with high rates of HPV presence in the tonsillar tissues.OBJECTIVE:A prospective case-control research for determining HPV 6/11 genotypes in tonsillar specimens of children who underwent operations in the otolaryngology departments of the Medical City Complex, Baghdad, Iraq, for their non-oncologic palatine and pharyngeal tonsillar hypertrophies.METHODS:This study enrolled 102 tonsillar tissues, 82 from pediatric patients aged from 4 to 12 years and who underwent tonsillectomies for non-oncologic palatine and pharyngeal tonsillar hypertrophies; 38 specimens were from single operations while 22 were multiple specimens from the same pediatric patients, represented as a total of 44 tissues). In addition, trimmed nasal tissues from 20 patients, with unremarkable pathological changes, were included as the control group. For HPV 6/11 DNA detection, specific DNA probes were used for the chromogenic in situ hybridization (CISH) technique.RESULTS:In the palatine tonsillar hypertrophied tissue group, 26.2% of the tissues revealed positive CISH signals for HPV 6/11 DNA. Regarding the pharyngeal tonsillar hypertrophied tissues, 22.5% of the specimens expressed positive CISH reactions. Among the 22 pediatric patients who had combined pharyngeal and palatine tonsillectomies, in 22.7% both sites expressed positive signals. No positive-CISH reactions were documented in the control nasal tissues. Statistically a significant difference was seen when compared to the control group.CONCLUSIONS:Significant rates of HPV were observed which pointed to the spread of HPV, among other STIs, and in mothers of at least this studied pediatric group. Also, this represented a critical mark as reservoir tissue sites, allowing transmission to other mucosal tissue localizations, playing part in their pathogenesis.
Accurate modeling of compact binaries is essential for gravitational-wave detection and parameter estimation, with spin being an important effect to include in waveform models. In this paper, we derive new post-Newtonian (PN) results for the conservative aligned-spin dynamics at next-to-next-to-leading order for the spina and spin4 contributions, in addition to the next-to-leading order (NLO) spin5 and spin6 contributions. One approach we follow is the Tutti Frutti method, which relates PN and gravitational self- force results through the redshift and spin-precession invariants, by making use of the simple dependence of the scattering angle on the symmetric mass ratio. However, an ambiguity arises at the NLO spin5 contribution, due to transcendental functions of the Kerr spin in the redshift; this is also the order at which Compton amplitudes calculations are affected by spurious poles. Therefore, we follow an additional approach to determine the NLO spin5 and spin6 dynamics: using on-shell Compton amplitudes obtained from black hole perturbation theory. The Compton amplitude used in this work is composed of the unambiguous tree-level far-zone part reported in [Phys. Rev. D 109, 084071 (2024)], as well as the full, noninterfering with the far-zone, l 1 / 4 2 partial wave contributions from the near zone, which are responsible for capturing Kerr finite-size effects. Other results in this paper include deriving the scattering angle of a spinning test body in a Kerr background from a parametrized worldline action and computing the redshift and spin-precession invariants for eccentric orbits without an eccentricity expansion.
A 30-year-old man presented with symptomatic severe chronic aortic regurgitation, first-degree atrioventricular block, and near-continuous mitral regurgitation. Surgical intervention, including aortic root replacement and mitral valve repair, was successful, highlighting the close relationship between valvular diseases and emphasizing the importance of comprehensive assessment for optimal management.
Climate is a vital factor that shapes habitat suitability for many species across space and time. Gazella subgutturosa (Goitered gazelle) is a globally vulnerable mammal already extinct in some areas of Armenia and Georgia and is highly threatened in other areas of its distribution. In this study, new data were gathered for 33 locations in north-eastern Iraq, and then together with literature data, Species Distribution Models (SDMs) were used to explore the geographical distribution of the gazelle under current and future climate change scenarios. We studied the relationship between seven climate variables and 43 occurrence records to predict habitat suitability of the gazelle under the current climate, and also under four future climate scenarios (RCP2.6 and RCP8.5 for both 2050 and 2080). Annual precipitation and isothermality had the most influence on the distribution of Gazella subgutturosa. The most suitable habitat in both the current and future scenarios was located in north-eastern Iraq close to the Iranian border near the Zagros Mountains. There was no difference in habitat suitability for the gazelle inside Iraqi Protected Areas (PAs) compared to outside the PAs. Using the occurrence records and IUCN Red List national assessments, we found Iraqi Goitered gazelle populations to be classified as Endangered (EN). Our results suggest urgent conservation planning is needed to save this species, including the establishment of new PAs. These results contribute new baseline information, which was currently missing Goitered gazelle in about Iraq, to the IUCN SSC Antelope Specialist Group, which will hopefully aid with future global assessments and conservation.
Objective: The aim of the study was to identify biomarkers in women diagnosed with Toxoplasmosis. Materials and Methods: The study was conducted between February 2022 and March 2023, and it focused on detecting Toxoplasma gondii in 100 female patients with a history of repeated abortion, aged between 18 and 43 years. The patients receiving treatment were present at two educational hospitals located in Baghdad. The diagnosis was established through the utilization of Immunochromatography and ELISA techniques. Blood samples were gathered from every individual, along with 30 healthy controls matched for age. The study measured the concentrations of Interleukin-10, Lactic acid Dehydrogenase, Total protein, Albumin, and Globulin in the patients' and controls' sera. Results: The findings revealed that 45 cases exhibited the presence of anti-Toxoplasma IgG, while 76 cases displayed the presence of anti- Toxoplasma IgM, out of the 100 women with a history of abortion and Toxoplasma infection. This was determined using immunochromatography methods, on the other hand, utilizing the ELISA methods, anti-Toxoplasma IgG was detected in 40 cases, and anti-Toxoplasma IgM was detected in 42 cases. Conclusions: The findings revealed elevated levels of IL- 10, Lactic acid Dehydrogenase, Total protein, and Globulin in the patients' sera, along with decreased levels of Albumin compared to the healthy controls.
Objective: The objective of the study was to examine the prevalence of HMTV infection, its associations with breast malignant tissues, and the expression of BRCA1 and BRCA2 proteins. Methods: One hundred archival breast tissues, 40 biopsies from female patients with breast cancer (BC), and 20 healthy breast tissues from the control group were used in the study. Immunohistochemical analysis was conducted to detect the expressed BRCA1 and BRCA2 proteins. Digoxigenin-labeled HMTV probes were used in chromogenic in situ hybridization for the identification of HMTV in breast tumor tissues. The complementary sequence sites of the HMTV probe sequences were stained by NBT/BCIP as blue signals. Results: There were 12 out of 40 (30%) benign breast tumorous tissues and 14 out of 40 (35%) BC tissues, while healthy control breast tissues were 10% (2 out of 20 tissues). Positive immunohistochemical (IHC) reactions for BRCA2 protein were observed in 12 out of 40 BC tissues (30.0%), 25% of benign breast tumorous tissues, and 5% of the control group. A significant (p < 0.05) statistical difference in the percentages of HMTV in the studied groups was found. Conclusion: HMTV might contribute to the development of subsets of benign and malignant breast tumors. The observed rates of defective or mutated BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes in healthy tissues indicate a role in the development of breast tumors.
Background: Antibiotics are medicines that fight bacterial infections. If they are used probably, they can save lives. Still there is a growing problem of antibiotic resistance. It happens when bacteria undergo some mutation and become able to resist the effect of an antibiotic. Objectives: This cross sectional study was to determine the prevalence of antibiotics resistance among group of patients and to know the causes that lead to antibiotic resistance crisis to compare the results with previous studies concerning this subject in order to identify the risks of antibiotic resistance to offer some solutions (if any) that can minimize this problem at Iraqi hospitals. Methodology: This cross sectional study was conducted from May to October 2019. The sample was 128 patients (their specimens were cultured and antibiotic sensitivity was tested) especially toward a group of antibiotic. Results: At the end of this study the result showed that a higher group of resistance especially to penicillin group and a lower rate to azithromycin, another finding was the bacteria which infect (admitted in patients) were resistant to multiple drugs than those which infect (out patients). Conclusion: A high resistance to penicillin group, Staphylococcus aureus was found to be the most resistant microorganism as culture results showed.
The objective of this research was to assess the predictive potential of Semaphorin 5A in comparison to Anti-Cyclic Citrullinated Peptide antibodies for forecasting disease progression and treatment responses among Iraqi patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). Conducted as a case-control study, the investigation encompassed a total of 150 participants, comprising 100 RA patients and 50 healthy individuals. The study took place at Baghdad Teaching Hospital over the period from November 2021 to February 2022. Enrolled participants were selected based on the 2010 criteria established by the American College of Rheumatology. The levels of biomarkers were assessed using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method. The findings demonstrated a noteworthy elevation in the levels of both ACCP and Semaphorin 5A among RA patients compared to the control group (p<0.001). Furthermore, these levels were found to be higher in individuals with active disease as opposed to those with inactive disease. In both active and inactive disease states, the levels of both ACCP and Semaphorin 5A remained considerably higher compared to the levels observed in the healthy control group (p<0.001). In patients who had not undergone treatment, the levels of both ACCP and Semaphorin 5A exhibited considerably greater significance compared to those who received Methotrexate or etanercept (p<0.001). A noteworthy and positive correlation was observed between ACCP and Semaphorin 5A, with a correlation coefficient of 0.476 (p<0.001). The sensitivity for ACCP and Semaphorin 5A was determined to be 72% and 83% respectively, while the specificity values were 98% and 76%. The study's conclusion highlighted the promising prognostic potential of both ACCP and Semaphorin 5A, establishing them as potential biomarkers for distinguishing between Rheumatoid Arthritis patients and healthy individuals. Predict disease activity and response to methotrexate or etanercept. Active disease patients and without treatments patients ACCP and Semaphorin5A levels were higher than inactive and received treatments (methotrexate or etanercept).
Background: This study aimed to apply a high-power pulsed alexandrite laser in vitro, the researchers tested different exposure periods, pulse lengths, and laser fluencies to see which dosage was most successful against S. aureus bacteria, which had developed resistance to many antibiotics. Method: Three bacteria samples were exposed to laser beams for 30 seconds with a 5ms pulse duration and a laser fluency of 5J/cm2. The process was repeated with laser fluencies of 10, 15, and 20. Results: The study was carried out by using different doses of Alexandrite laser. Results: There are significant differences (p = 0.05) in the mean number of bacteria colonies exposed for 30 and 60 seconds at any laser fluencies utilized in the present investigation. Except for the 15 J.cm-2 laser fluency; there was a statistically significant difference (p < 0.001) between 60 sec and 90-sec exposure durations. Conclusion: In conclusion, the exposure periods, pulse durations, and laser fluencies of pulsed alexandrite laser were found to have an influence on the mean colony count of S aureus bacteria and to establish the effective dose.
Right-sided infective endocarditis in patients with intravenous drug abuse portends a worse prognosis. Data on optimal management strategy in this situation are scarce. We describe outcomes of 2 different treatment strategies, including a patient treated conservatively with favorable intermediate-term results and another who was treated surgically and developed recurrent endocarditis.
