Summary. Tests for inherited blood factors were done on samples from Lunana and Thimbu, Bhutan. Two persons in 31 from Lunana carried Haemoglobin E and five in 28 were Di (a+). Both populations appear to be related to the Tibetans, with some genes from South‐East Asia and, at Lunana, from India also.
Summary Using social structure, animal behavior, and ecological landscape variables, a population density distribution of feral swine was created for use in a wildlife disease simulation model. Hydrology and land use data bases were combined into a continuous matrix and aggregated estimates of feral swine densities were spatially distributed based on these variables in proportion to their estimated use. The resulting distribution was suitable for modeling the spatial spread of infectious diseases in feral swine populations.
