Hematoma is a common problem that occurs as a result of damage to one of the larger blood vessels in the body. A hematoma can look like a bruise, but bruises occur due to damage to small blood vessels rather than large ones. Hematomas are often described based upon their location. The most dangerous hematomas are those that occur inside the skull. There are three categories of hematoma: Epidural Hematoma, Subdural Hematoma, Intracerebral (intraparenchymal) Hematoma. Epidural hematoma is when bleeding occurs between the tough outer membrane covering the brain (dura mater) and the skull.Purpose: The purpose of this research was the analysis of epidural hematomas operated and treated in the University Clinical Center of Kosovo in the Neurosurgery Clinic.Materials and methods: In this retrospective clinical study-research, are taken into account the cranio-traumas presented at the UCCK Emergency Center during the period 2015-2020 , specifying the traumas with epidural hematomas in which the neurosurgical intervention was performed and a small number of traumas that were treated conservatively. Results: In the neurosurgery clinic in UCCK since 2015-2020, were operated and treated a total of 107 cases with epidural hematomas. The smallest number of cases recorded was in 2015 with a total of 14 cases, out of which 12 were operated on and 2 were conservatively treated, while the largest number was on 2018 with 27 cases, out of which 21 were operated and 6 were treated conservatively. Conclusion: Craniocerebral traumas with epidural hematomas, as well as some of those associated with other brain traumas, are more common in men than women with a ratio of almost 2:1. The operated cases (86) underwent surgery on the day of admission after clinical and radiological examination and had a 5-10 day hospital stay
Some authors have used phosphoric acid in different concentrations and etching time for demineralization of tooth hard tissues (Buonocuore, Bertolotti). In this study the in vitro effect of dentine etching time with phosphoric acid 37% (20 and 60 seconds) and composite polymerization duration (60 and 180 seconds) on the shear bond strengths to dentin was evaluated. Materials and methods: The crowns of 32 extracted human molars were cut horizontally with diamond saw to gain larger surface of dentin. The working models were made of auto-polymerizing acrylate with the dentin layer, which was polished. Dentine was treated with 37% phosphoric acid in duration of 20 and 60 seconds, before the fourth generation adhesive (Syntac) was applied. The control group used the fifth generation adhesive (AdheSe). The composite was polymerized with two different durations (60 and 180 seconds). The samples stayed in water baths for 24 hours in 37°C. Shear bond strengths were measured with Instron machine. Data were analyzed with Anova and Tuckey test. Results: Mean values of shear bond strengths for the first group (etching 20 sec / polymerization 60 sec) were 63.8 ± 3.7 N, for the second group (E 60 sec / P 60 sec) 111.7 ± 2.4 N, and for the third group (E 60 sec / P 180 sec) 132.8 ± 14.3 N. The control group (AdheSe) had mean values 134.4 ± 15.5 N. Conclusion: There is significant difference found between the second and the first group (p<0.019) and between the third and fourth with the first group (p<0.001). There is no significant difference between the second, third and fourth group.
From the very creation of the human beings, history makes us, the human beings, almost never satisfied with each other, thus, instead leaving a ’wonderful’ spiritual and physical inheritance to humanity, which like it or not, mainly can be defined as disastrous, due to the ancient desire to possess more than we deserve. In a magnificent way the author of this novel, Edward Morgen Forster, extremely realistically described the occupation of India by the British Raj-ruledating from 1858 – 1947. The main idea prevailing throughout the whole book is the tendency of the Indians to show hospitality of their people and country. On the other hand, the British, rather meanly were extremely successful in showing themselves as the owners of everything in and about India. The novel tells the very interesting relations among the protagonists, furthermore the extremely beautiful landscapes of India, by giving the majority of them an appropriate meaning. As far as the main characters are concerned, they are divided, as with a knife in two extremes, the good ones and the bad ones. Consequently, this brilliant novel, achieves its aim by the extremely interesting dialogues among the characters through which the reader understands every single happening and message of the main idea. Having read the book the reader solves any kind of dilemma that might appear.
The purpose of this paper is to identify the sources of Russian influence in the Western Balkans. The most influential tool of the Russian Federation is the information warfare, composed with hybrid tactics, attempting to set a foot in the Western Balkans. Qualitative methods were used for analysis and the findings. The main results indicate that Russia has divers’ methods to impact political developments in the Balkans. Russia has been interested in this part of Europe, and it engages with all interested sides in the region. With its state propaganda, Russia at least has the ability to divert the policies of the Western Balkan states towards the EU. Moscow prefers the status of neutrality of the countries that emerged from the Yugoslav Federation. In other words, Kremlin challenges the U.S. on some levels and the sources of Russian influence primarily are stemming from information warfare strategies integrated in different platforms. Recently the EU and the U.S. have expressed their concerns on several occasions over the direction of democracy in the Balkans. Indeed, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, and North Macedonia remain on the edge of Russia’s ‘sharp knife’ which has the purpose of reversing the reforms and imposing the set of regulations which favors Kremlin in the Balkans. As the paper indicates, Russia uses domestic and international news outlets as propaganda to reach the nations in the region to win hearts and minds of the people against the Western approach to some extent. Therefore, the tendency of Russian propaganda remains a threat for the Western Balkans fragile societies. Russian strategic investments are primarily in the energy infrastructure, the oil market and the news outlet organizations around the region. However, Russia keeps her hands open and engages with Serbia via the news organizations such as ‘Sputink Serbija’ and it utilizes Belgrade as a geopolitical tool to stir the unrest in Northern Kosovo. Russia and Serbia have good strategic relations which makes Russia a great power in the Balkans and as a key player. We conclude that the Balkans remain a flashpoint for regional actors and non-state actors. The Balkan states must continue the path of reforms as the only way to achieve peace and prosperity. But as paper emphasizes, Russia will continue to play crucial role in all events of the Balkan politics due to the power of Russian Federation in international politics.
Dry assembled precast concrete joints are increasingly employed for fast and highquality construction throughout the world. As a matter of fact, metal devices needed to connect the different elements often introduce a strong discontinuity in the current cross-section due to their size and to the presence of cavities needed to assemble the joint. Within the framework of a wider research project jointly carried out between Politecnico di Milano and DLC Consulting Srl on an innovative wall system, axial tests on a reference monolithic benchmark and three single joint specimens differing by reinforcement and/or mortar filling details have been carried out. A critical interpretation of the test results and of the compressive behaviour of the joints is provided by means of a numerical investigation through nonlinear static analyses performed with the software Abaqus.
NIR spectroscopy provides the spectral signatures (i.e. “fingerprints”) of living human muscles, which represent specific, accurate, and reproducible measures of their overall biological status. We showed that chemometric analysis applied to NIR spectra acquired from the upper limb distinguishes the biceps from the triceps. We acquired muscles reflectance spectra in the Vis-SWIR regions (350-2500 nm), utilizing an ASD FieldSpec 4TM Standard-Res Spectroradiometer with a spectral sampling capability of 1.4 nm at 350-1000 nm and 1.1 nm at 1001-2500 nm. Optical spectroscopy proves effective for studying human muscles in vivo and contribute to non-invasive more thorough evaluation of the muscular system.
In secondary raw materials and industrial recycling sectors there is the need of solving quality control issues. The development and deployment of an effective, fast and robust sensing architecture able to detect, characterize and sort solid waste products is of primary importance. Near InfraRed (NIR) based HyperSpectral Imaging (HSI) techniques to detect materials to recycle and/or solid waste products to process represents an interesting solution to address quality control issues in these sectors. In this paper, are presented two different case studies on the utilization of NIR-HSI to detect contaminants in household plastic packaging waste and recognize materials occurring in processed monitors and flat screen waste. The proposed approach consists of a cascade detection based on Partial Least Squares – Discriminant Analysis (PLS-DA) classifiers applied on hyprspectral images acquired in NIR range (1000-1700 nm).
This is a survey study that determines the Albanian teachers' attitudes toward multicultural education and the participants of the study were 50 teachers who are teaching different subjects in various grades and schools in region of Ferizaj. The data for this study was collected through a 5-point Likert scale called "Teachers' Multicultural Attitude Scale". According to findings, it is determined that teachers have positive attitudes towards multicultural education. Their attitudes differ in a statistically significant way according to their gender, age, and professional seniority. Art and Sports teachers were found to have more positive attitudes than class teachers, but history teachers had the lowest attitude. Based on the findings, it can be suggested to develop, alter teaching methods and programs according to multicultural education and teachers with more positive attitude towards multicultural education can be the leading force in training other teachers.

As passwords remain the main online authentication method, focus has shifted from naive entropy to how usability improvements can increase security. Chatterjee et al. recently introduced the first two typotolerant password checkers, which improve usability at no security cost but are technically complex. We look at the more general problem of computing an edit distance between two strings without having direct access to those strings — by storing the equivalent of a hash. We propose a simpler algorithm for this problem that is asymptotically quasi-optimal in both bits stored and exchanged, at the cost of more computation on the server.
Introduction: Risky behavior is a serious public health problem in EU countries. Most of the illnesses in adolescents are the result of risky behaviors related to drug consumption. Problems that lead to the risk behavior may be required in the poor quality of family life and the inadequate way of upbringing. Aim: To determine the role of upbringing styles of parents with the habits of consuming psychoactive substances (drugs). Material and Methods: A study was conducted on a sample of 600 respondents, pupils from primary and secondary schools on the territory of the Polog region. Тhe scale used to estimate the parents' upbringing styles"Egna Minnen Batraffande Uppfostran" (EMBU) is applied, as well as the UHO (union of health organizations) survey questionnaire from the "Global Health Adolescent Survey". The statistical analysis of the data obtained from the research was made in the statistical program SPSS 17.0. Results and discussion: The structure of the examinees consisted of 264 (44%) male and 336 (56%) female students. The ethnic structure of the students consisted of 300 Macedonian students and 300 Albanian students, 172 (28.67%) were the ninth grade students, 203 (33.83%) were first year high school students, and 225 (37.5%) were second year high school students. In this group of students, 28(4.67%) students use drugs, in fact the prevalence of drug consumption was 4.67%. With the increase in the value of the subscale "rejection" of the father for the unit score, the risk of developing risky behavior of children from the aspect of drug use increases by 6.3% (OR: 1,063, 95% CI 1,007 1,123). With the increase in the value of the subscale "overprotection" of the father for the unit score, the risk of developing risky behavior among children from the aspect of drug use increases by 8.9% (OR: 1,089, 95% CI 1.020 1.163). Conclusion: The results of the studies have shown that upbringing styles of parents have a significant impact on the risky behavior of adolescents from the aspect of using marijuana drug.
