The need to develop a surgical instrument that can most effectively and minimally invasively remove a malignant tumor, and distinguish and destroy only tumor cells without damaging the normal cells of healthy tissue surrounding the tumor is being considered. To achieve this goal, it is proposed to use nanodiscs with special magnetic, electronic and optical properties. Nanodiscs modified with recognition ligands (aptamers) are able to bind to tumor cells and destroy them under the influence of a weak, nonheating alternating magnetic field. This allows for effective tumor destruction while minimizing the impact on surrounding healthy tissue.
The article presents the results of investigation of antitumor properties of platinum–arabinogalactan complex. We showed the ability of the complex to inhibit the growth of Ehrlich ascites tumor cells. It is found that the distribution of the platinum–arabinogalactan complex is not specific only for tumor cells in mice. The complex was found in all tissues and organs examined (ascites cells, embryonic cells, kidney, and liver). The mechanism of action of the arabinogalactan–platinum complex may be similar to cisplatin as the complex is able to accumulate in tumor cells.
Background : Aim was to study the chemiluminescent activity and the activity of NAD- and NADP-dependent dehydrogenases of neutrophils depending on the outcome of the widespread purulent peritonitis (WPP). Patients and methods : 51 patients with a mean age of RSE 54,2±19,2 years were observed. As a control 75 healthy people of similar age range were examined. Lucigenin- and luminol-dependent chemiluminescence activity and activity of NAD(P)-dependent dehydrogenases peripheral blood neutrophils were studied. Results : In patients with a favorable outcome of WPP the maximum intensity increased and the magnitude of the activation index of lucigenine-dependent spontaneous chemiluminescence reduced. Regardless to the outcome of WPP in patients with increased activation index and maxima of the luminol-dependent spontaneous and zymosaninduced chemiluminescence. At the unfavorable outcome of the disease in neutrophils NAD- dependent isositrate dehydrogenase and anaerobic lactate dehydrogenase reaction activity increased. Regardless to the outcome WPP in patients neutrophils aerobic reaction of lactate dehydrogenase, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase and NADP-dependent glutamate dehydrogenase activity reduced but levels of NADH-dependent reaction of malate dehydrogenase, NADH-dependent glutamate dehydrogenase and NADP-dependent isocitrate dehydrogenase activity increased. Conclusion : With the reduction of the intensity of plastic processes and imbalances enzymatic activity in nitrogen metabolism in patients with WPP at unfavorable outcome of the disease increases the activity of enzymes that characterize the level of anaerobic and aerobic respiration. In the absence of marked changes in the activity of enzymes that characterize the level of energy processes in cells of patients with favorable outcome of the WPP, increases the intensity of spontaneous lucigenin-dependent chemiluminescence and reduced neutrophil activation index.
Aim of this study was to investigate of NAD(P)-dependent dehydrogenases activity in lymphocytes at different outcomes widespread purulent peritonitis(WPP). Enzyme activity in blood lymphocytes was determined by bioluminescent method. Found that patients with a poor outcome of WPP in blood lymphocytes made more pronounced reaction of lipid anabolism and catabolism of xenobiotics. Regardless of the outcome of the disease in blood lymphocytes of WPP patients reduced levels of enzymes activity that determine the intensity of anaerobic and aerobic respiration and the level of plastic processes, but the activation reactions of lipid catabolism and transport products through glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase on reactions of glycolysis. Based on the informativeness of the NAD(P)-dependent dehydrogenases activity in the classification neural network model for the disease outcome, metabolic coefficient is proposed, which has prognostic significance.
We investigated immunological parameters in patients with extensive purulent peritonitis (EPP). It is established that the EPP revealed an imbalance in the immune system which is characterized by a deficiency of cellular part and increased activity of the humoral. Status of cellular immunity is determined by the decrease in the EPP number of T- (primarily through fractions of cytotoxic T-lymphocytes and expressing of late activation. marker), NK- and NKT-cells. In the peripheral blood of patients with EPP increases the content of Th-cells and B1-lymphocytes. Status humoral immunity in the EPP is characterized by increased Ig A and Ig G levels. With the help of correlation analysis and the separate definition of the entropy of the lymphocytes phenotypic composition and immunoglobulins found an increase in regulatory effect on the humoral immunity.
