Several initiatives and policies have been introduced in Malaysia under the National Energy Efficiency Action Plan (NEEAP) 2016–2025 to inculcate a culture of energy-efficient attitudes among households in Malaysia. However, a comprehensive evaluation of the success of the action plan is yet to be reported. Thus, this study has determined the extent to which household attitudes and ethical practices influence the overall effort toward being more efficient in using resources like electricity, with a specific focus on the role played by household lifestyle factors within the state of Selangor, Malaysia. A quantitative research approach using a survey method was adopted to investigate the direct and mediating effects of key variables. Data was contributed by 500 households in Selangor comprising various categories of dwelling. A stratified random sampling was employed to allow for the representativeness of the population. Results from this study indicated that the interactive factors of attitudes, ethical practices, and household lifestyles contributed significantly to energy efficiency usage. Specifically, household attitudes were found to play a pivotal role in shaping energy efficiency outcomes in Selangor. Ethical practices emerged as essential drivers of sustainable energy behaviours, while household lifestyle acted as a mediator between ethical practices and energy efficiency. These findings suggest that energy policies must align closely with underlying social and ethical factors to achieve meaningful change. Through contiguously targeted initiatives led by the state of Selangor to the other states, it is envisaged that the NEEAP 2016–2025 would enable its successful implementation and enhance sustainable household practices in Malaysia.
Organizational performance is key to success, indicating efficiency, reliability, and goal achievement. Oman’s food security depends on the Oman Food Investment Holding Company (O.F.I.C.), which prioritizes organizational success in the complex food investment market. This study examines the complex relationships between leadership styles, corporate culture, and O.F.I.C. staff engagement. Thus, the study sheds light on efficient organizational management in Oman’s complex food processing sector beyond the O.F.I.C. firms are covered in the research of Oman’s food processing sector. The stratified random sampling approach collects data via a carefully developed structured questionnaire. O.F.I.C. personnel from several departments are the target population, reflecting organizational dynamics. Descriptive statistics and structural equation modeling are used to conclude. Strategic maneuverability is a rapidly evolving field of research especially when it is connected to company performance. Earlier research on strategic flexibility began with Gotcher (1977) who believed that long-term planning requires flexibility. In this regard, a company's freedom of movement, its environment, and the quality of strategic control within the company contribute to its flexibility. Some scholars have proposed that in order to deal with strategic disruptions, companies must be strategically agile, able to change their course of action, and maintain competitive advantage. This includes identifying and sensing major opportunities and threats, as well as responding to unexpected environmental changes. However, there are very few studies on the impact of strategic maneuverability toward the financial performance of construction companies, especially among Bumiputera contractors in Malaysia. Keywords: Bumiputera Contractors, Strategic Maneuverability, Sustainability Performance.
In the present digital era, the concepts of Agile project methodology or Agile methods have transformed technology as perceived in learning organizations. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Agile methods domain has gained considerable attention from practitioners and researchers. While past review studies have provided valuable insights into Agile methods research, none have addressed the trends, structure, and opportunities in this domain. Therefore, this research aims to conduct a systematic review of Agile project management or Agile methods using a novel research methodology called Systematic Literature Network Analysis (SLNA). A corpus of fifty research articles from 2006 to 2023 is extracted from the Web of Science (WoS) database. The bibliometric technique has been applied to systematically collected documents. The research findings highlight that the Agile project method domain gained considerable attention during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, with most research conducted in developed countries. The outcomes suggest that future studies should focus on people and technical factors and explore different frameworks and variables to strengthen the field of Agile project methodology. These findings are valuable for future researchers, practitioners, and industry personnel. Emphasize people and technical factors while implementing Agile methods, fostering effective collaboration, and utilizing appropriate technical resources. Investigate emerging trends in Agile project management, including the impact of remote work, and conduct cross-country studies to understand the applicability of Agile methods across different contexts. The impact of Agile project management methods on society includes fostering adaptability and resilience in organizations, promoting efficient collaboration and innovation, and facilitating the successful delivery of projects that meet the evolving needs of society. A broader set of keywords, a longer time frame, and additional online databases could have resulted in a greater number of articles being analysed.
This study examines the impact of sustainable design on firms’ social sustainability performance, and the moderating role of Islamic work ethics in this relationship. 344 chemical manufacturing organisations in Malaysia were invited to participate in a survey. Data from 130 completed questionnaire sets were subjected to partial least square (PLS) analysis. The results demonstrated significant effect of sustainable design on social sustainability performance. It was also shown that Islamic work ethics moderate the relationship between sustainable design and social sustainability performance. Al-Quran and hadith were used to support this study to link the relationships of the variables under study, particularly in the context of chemical manufacturing organisations in Malaysia. The present study has furnished significant theoretical contributions of how the Natural-resource-based view theory and stakeholder theory could be incorporated into the present proposed framework with the inclusion of the moderating role of Islamic work ethics, and eventually enrich the findings of extant research. As for practical contributions, businesses in the chemical industry would make well-informed decisions about which eco-friendly practices, particularly sustainable design, to adopt in order to attain social sustainability performance and successfully implement Islamic work ethics. Direction for future research is also recommended.

Graduate well-being is foundational to academic success, and they are becoming more and more vulnerable. This is as they suffer from mental health challenges like anxiety and depression at rates six times higher than the general population. When the nature of their educational experience changes, such as when they had to stay in their homes during the COVID-19 pandemic, the stress on their mental health increases. The number of cases of emotional wellness among university students is considered a public health problem, but these young people often do not seek appropriate treatment. This study, therefore, aims to identify the influence of health behavior factors on graduate emotional wellness. This study used a questionnaire with a cross-sectional survey design. Questionnaires were distributed online to graduates from selected Private and Public Higher Education Institutions in Malaysia. The Partial Least Square Equation Model (PLS-SEM) was used to analyze the results of the study. Overall findings indicate that the health behavior factors have a significant influence on graduate emotional wellness. The findings from this study will benefit the management, academics, counselors, and other entities, including the Students' Representative Council, in identifying ways to improve services and upgrade the necessary facilities to enhance the graduate's emotional wellness.
Most leadership styles are generally designed to enhance the cognitive and behavioral skills of leaders with the implicit assumption that this would ultimately translate into high performance. As we are moving towards Industry 4.0, organizations must employ leadership styles that will help the organization succeed. Thus, the objective of this paper is to confirm the determinant factors for Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) leadership attributes in Malaysian manufacturing companies. Stratified sampling was used to select the sample. Data was collected using the online survey method, where the response rate was 43 percent. The respondents consisted of respondents aged from 31-40 years old, with 69 respondents. In terms of race, the highest number of respondents are the Malays. Questionnaires were distributed to middle and top-level managers from manufacturing companies which were listed in the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM). Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was used to confirm the reliability and validity of the construct. Based on the analysis, 66 items could be used to measure the 4IR leadership attributes. The validation of 4IR leadership can also provide predictive implications on improving leaders' performance, given the different attributes confirmed by the findings.
