Aim of study. To specify the peculiarities in spatial arrangement of arterial branches in the area of anterior perforated substance. Material and methods. The work was carried out using brain material of 25 people of both genders from the archive of the Department of Anatomy at the FSBEI HE Ryazan State Medical University MOH RF. In order to verify the arteries before formaldehyde fi xation of brain, their injection with gelatine solution was performed. Th e peculiarities in origin of central arteries from the internal carotid artery, middle cerebral artery, anterior cerebral artery as well as their calibres and quantity were examined. Results. The study has shown that the spatial arrangement of the perforating arteries in the anterior perforated substance depends on the particular site of origin. Th e origins of arterial branches flowing through the anterior perforated substance are the internal carotid artery, anterior cerebral artery, middle cerebral artery and anterior choroidal artery. Perforating branches originating from the internal carotid artery were registered in both hemispheres in 98 % of the cases. Unilateral (left ) absence of branches originating from the C4 segment was only noted in one case. The largest quantity of arteries originated from M1 segment of the middle cerebral artery. Th erewith, the majority of the branches belonged to the lateral group exceeding the quantity of such branches in the medial group by 2.3 times on average. Th ereat, the quantity of branches in each group showed no valid diff erence in relation to the side of the body. Conclusion. Knowledge of the anatomy of the anterior perforated substance, the peculiarities in spatial arrangement of the branches of middle cerebral artery and the anterior choroidal artery is important and is of interest for clinicians from the perspective of diagnosis and timely treatment of cerebral tumours and aneurisms of its arterial ring
Background. Treatment of residual cavities after radical surgery for bone diseases is a vital problem of modern traumatology. Currently, there is an active search for devices both for osteosynthesis and bone-substituting masses. Aims. The purpose of this work was to test a new device for osteosynthesis. It can be used both for fixing bone fragments, and for studying the morphological features of bone regenerate in experiment.Materials and methods. A device for bone osteosynthesis of tubular bones in an experiment (Patent of the Russian Federation N 20116121487) was applied. The device consisted of two half-bushings, fastened to each other by a fierce clamp. Polypropylene was used as the material for the half-bushings, therefore no immunological reactions were observed. On the inner surface there were silicone cylinders, which directed pressure on the fragments and did not disturb the nutrition of the periosteum. The experiment was performed on Wistar rats. The surgical defect of the femur was filled with hydroxyapatite. Two groups of animals were identified. The bone in the first group was fixed by the device. The wire cerclage was used in the second group.Results. The study showed that the developed device does not disturb the nutrition of the periosteum, and also tightly fixes the osteoplastic material in the bone defect. Histological examination showed that bone regeneration was faster when the device was used. On the 21st day of the experiment, the regenerate filled the defect in the control group by 62 %, and in the experimental group by 73 %. The regenerate was represented by a woven bone. In all animals, bone regenerate formed a strong osteo-integrative connection with the maternal bone. In both groups, it looked like a mature bone tissue at the end of the experiment (28 days).Conclusion. The data indicate that the device does not disturb the processes of bone formation and allows for more efficient use osteoplastic material.
Objective. The variability of the design of the arterial circle of the human brain (ACHB) has been studied.Materials and methods. The systematization was carried out and the original classification of the variants of ACHB was compiled. The study was performed on 116 brain preparations of adult people (64 men and 52 women). The causes of death of these people were not associated with diseases or trauma of the brain. Dissection of the vessels ACHB and central arteries was carried out after the injection of contrasting arteries mixture (mascara - gelatin).Results. There are two types of ACHB design, including two subtypes (4 in total). First of all, the variants of the individual-typological variability (VITV) of the circle design were combined depending on the presence or absence of the sign of its closure in the types of construction of the ACHB - closed or open. The type of construction is one of the integral and basic principles of classification. It serves as a criterion for the morphofunctional consistency of the ACHB. The second level of systematization of the VITV structure of ACHB is associated with the allocation in types of two subtypes in each of them. This is based on the presence or absence of symmetry of the ACHB form. This sublevel is a systemic - all variants of AKBM are caused by the presence or absence, or the degree of development (from hypoplasia to hyperplasia) of the arteries forming it. In accordance with the selected types and subtypes of the ACHB, the identified VITV circle was classified.Conclusions. The statistically significant prevalence of closed and asymmetric ACHB among both men and women has been established. The proposed integral classification is based on the basic morphogeometric characteristics of the ACHB. It takes into account the anatomy of both individual arteries and the circle as a whole, without dividing it into the front and back sections and treating the arterial circle as a single entity.
The article indicates that mammillary body arterial supply is provided by the posterior communicating arteries, and to a lesser extent, by the posterior cerebral arteries. In case of atresic or hypoplastic posterior communicating or posterior cerebral arteries, the mammilary bodies receive blood from the branches of the basilar artery.
The article presents the results of the study number of vessels in the arterial network of the anterior perforated substance of the brain in men 25-60 years old. The study showed that the middle cerebral artery is the main source of the arteries in the area. Its branches make up 55,5% of all arteries. The branches of the anterior cerebral artery account for 24,4%, other arteries are branches of the anterior and posterior communication arteries. Right arterial network is significantly more than the left. Excluding the anterior and posterior communication arteries the difference is 13%, and with their account 4%.
