본 연구는 코로나 대유행 이전 단계인 2019-2020년까지 호서 농촌지역 보건소에서 운영하였던 신체활동 치유 프로그램의 변화 양상을 분석하고, 코로나 대유행 기간인 2020-2021년 호서 농촌지역 보건소에서 운영하였던 신체활동 치유프로그램 참여자의 차이를 분석하여 정부주도 신체활동 프로그램의 활성화 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 호서 농촌지역에 위치한 15개 시군 보건소에서 2019-2021년에 운영하였던 신체활동 치유 프로그램 158개와 2020-2021년 신체활동 치유 프로그램 참여자 79,267명을 대상으로 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지역 인구에 비해 신체활동 치유 프로그램의 수가 적다. 둘째, 코로나 19 발생 이후 대면 신체활동 치유 프로그램 수는 크게 변화하지 않았지만 비대면 신체활동 치유 프로그램 수가 증가하여 총 프로그램 수가 증가하였으며, 참여자수도 2020년에 비해 2021년 증가하였다. 셋째, 2019-2021년 보건소에서 운영하였던 신체활동 치유 프로그램은 생애주기별 인구분포와 특성의 반영이 미흡하였다. 넷째, 신체활동 치유 프로그램의 유형이 다양하지 못하고 건강 체력 요소를 균형 있게 운영하지 못하였다. 다섯째, 2019-2021년 신체활동 치유 프로그램의 운동 시간과 운동 빈도 평가 결과, 2019년 운동시간을 제외한 모든 평가에서 운동 권장 기준에 미치지 못하였다. 여섯째, 2020-2021년 비대면 신체활동 치유 프로그램의 운동 시간과 운동 빈도 평가 결과, 50% 이상이 운동 빈도와 운동시간 모두 미흡한 것으로 나타났다. 이에 보건소에서 운영하는 신체활동 치유 프로그램의 활성화를 위해 지역 주민의 생애주기별 인구 분포, 참여자의 생애주기별 특성을 고려하여 다양한 맞춤형 프로그램이 필요하며, 신체활동 목적에 따라 운동 빈도, 운동 강도, 운동 시간, 운동 형태의 체계적인 구성이 가능한 전문지도자가 필요하다. 특히, 코로나 대유행 시대인 지금 비대면 신체활동 프로그램은 공간적 시간적 제약이 적고, 직접적인 접촉을 최소화할 수 있어 신체활동 유도 전략으로 유용할 것으로 전망된다.
An analysis of industrial accidents revealed that workers in the manufacturing field suffered from various injuries resulting in a huge loss of workdays. In order for an exosuit to better support physical activities including strengthening the human body, we expect to develop it further that can prevent worker injuries and improve work efficiency at the same time in the field. This study aims to develop an algorithm to distinguish between the gait, lifting, and lowering motions using inertial measurement units (IMUs). We also plan to make a soft exosuit that can help lifting heavy objects using actuators enhancing muscular assistance in gait, lifting, and lowering motions. In the design of an exosuit, elastic bands are used to ensure wearer comfort and we try to make the weight of actuators as light as possible so as to more efficiently assist the human body. With the total weight 0.52 kg of the exosuit, the algorithm can detect the gait motion with a weighted F1 score of 0.8525 and the lifting and lowering motions with the 0.9494. Furthermore, in consideration of rectus femoris which is agonist muscle for walking, lifting, and lowering movements, it appears that the root mean square (RMS) values of the electromyograms (EMGs) for the left and right rectus femoris during the standing up activity are decreased by 24.22% and 20.86%, respectively, compared with the values measured without wearing the exosuit. Additionally, the assisting effect on other major muscles is also significant, demonstrating that the exosuit can assist in improving muscle strength.
연구목적 본 연구는 폐교를 활용한 문화예술 체험형 문화재생공간 신체활동 치유프로그램 현황과 참여자들의 인식과 수요 분석을 통해 참여자에게 적합한 프로그램을 파악하고 신체활동 치유 프로그램의 활성화 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 연구방법 문화재생 공간에서 운영하였던 프로그램에 참여자를 대상으로 설문지를 통해 자료를 수집하였으며, 선정된 자료는 SPSS Ver. 23.0 프로그램을 이용하여 빈도분석, 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하여 연구결과를 도출하였다. 결과 도출된 연구결과를 제시하면 다음과 같다. 50-59세가 가장 많이 참여한 세대였으며, 미혼에 비해 기혼이 높게 나타났으며, 이전에 신체활동 치유 프로그램에 참여한 경험이 없다는 응답이 많았다. 신체활동 치유프로그램의 참여시간은 30-60분이 가장 많은 것으로 나타났지만 대상자의 33%가 신체활동 권고시간보다 적은 시간을 참여한 것으로 나타났으며, 강도 역시 권고하는 강도보다 낮게 나타났다. 신체활동 치유 프로그램의 효과는 스트레스 해소에 효과적이라는 응답이 많았으며, 대부분의 참여자가 새로운 신체활동 치유프로그램에 참여를 원하였으며, 동반 참여자로 가족을 선호하였다. 로지스틱 회귀분석 결과, 신체활동 프로그램의 강도, 효과 및 만족도에 따라 참가시간과 연령에서 통계적으로 유의하게 다른 것으로 나타났으며, 신체활동 프로그램 참가 시간이 길수록 프로그램에 대한 효과와 만족도를 유의미하게 긍정적으로 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 신체활동 치유 프로그램은 연령대의 체력과 특성을 고려하여 저강도 뿐만 아니라 중강도와 고강도의 신체활동을 포함한 프로그램 구성이 필요하며, 참여 시간 역시 1일 권장시간인 30-60분 이상 소요되는 프로그램을 구성되어야 한다. 더불어 신체활동 치유프로그램의 활성화와 참여를 유도하기 위해 가족 구성원 모두가 함께 또는 구성원 각각이 참여할 수 있는 다양한 유형의 프로그램이 개발한다면 문화재생 공간의 활성화가 가속화될 것으로 전망된다.
The incidence of obesity has been spreading throughout the world. Many of the complications caused by obesity, such as inflammation and impaired liver function. This study aimed to determine the effect of supplementation resveratrol and chrysin on inflammation and liver function of obese mice fed a high-fat diet. 40 mice (C57BL/6) were randomly divided into four groups: 10 in the normal diet (NC), 10 control group on a high-fat diet (HC), 10 in the high-fat diet with resveratrol (HRE), and 10 in the high-fat diet group with chrysin (HCH). Resveratrol 25 mg and 50mg of chrysin supplement per kg body weight were orally given with 0.1ml solution of Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO) dissolved in for 15 weeks (4 times/week). The calorie intake of the group supplemented by resveratrol and chrysin significantly decreased. Group with high-fat diet, resveratrol, and chrysin increased body weight significantly compared to the normal diet group. The liver weight decreased in the resveratrol but not in the chrysin group. TNFα did not decrease in the resveratrol and chrysin group while IL1β significantly decreased. TLR 4 significantly decreased only in the chrysin group, while IL10 only increased in the resveratrol group. The collagen was decreased by resveratrol and chrysin supplementation while fibronectin was not affected by resveratrol or chrysin. The inflammatory process in the liver of obese mice fed a high-fat diet can be reduced by supplementing resveratrol and chrysin.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes between the seasons and the off-season of body composition, physical fitness, anaerobic power, isokinetic muscular function by weight reduction levels in Taekwondo players. Twenty-four Taekwondo players was divided into 2 groups: STD(standard weight reduction group, n=12), NSTD(non-standard weight reduction group, n=12). Body composition, physical fitness(strength, endurance, power, flexibility, agility, reaction time, coordination, lung capacity) and anaerobic power, isokinetic muscular function were measured. The results of this study were as follows: Muscle mass, lean body mass, total body water, lung capacity(one second) and anaerobic power in STD group was significantly higher than NSTD group (p<.05). In this results, to prevent performance loss, weight maintenance and weight reduction is recommended through diet and exercise of between the season and off-season.
This study was investigated to determine the effect of moderate exercise training and resveratrol supplementation on hepactic fibrosis, inflammation in high fat diet induced obese mice. Male C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into four groups ; (NC, normal diet control; HC, high fat diet control; HRe, high fat diet with resveratrol; HME, high fat diet with moderate exercise). Exercise training was performed for 16 weeks on a treadmill running for 40-60 min/day at 10-22 m/min, 0% grade, 5 days/week. Resveratrol supplementation group (HRe) received a daily dose of resveratrol (25mg/kg of body weight) 5 days/week for 16 weeks.BR As a result, body weight and α-SMA mRNA expression was significantly reduced by moderate exercise training(p.05). TNF-αmRNA expression showed the same tendency as α-SMA(p.05). Moreover, macrophage infiltration marker(CD11c) mRNA expression was significantly decreased by moderate exercise training(p.05). These findings suggest that moderate exercise training has beneficial effects to hepactic fibrosis and inflammation in high fat diet-induced obese mice.
Metabolomics is useful for evaluating the fundamental mechanisms of improvements in the health functions of the elderly. Additionally, gardening intervention as a regular physical activity for the elderly maintained and improved physical, psychology, cognitive, and social health. This study was conducted to determine whether the cognitive ability of the elderly is affected by participating in a gardening activity program as a physical activity with a metabolomic potential biomarker. The gardening program was designed as a low to moderate intensity physical activity for the elderly. Serum metabolites resulting from gardening were subjected to metabolite profiling using gas chromatography time-of-flight mass spectrometry and ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography-linear trap quadruple-orbitrap-mass spectrometry followed by multivariate analyses. The partial least squares-discriminant analysis showed distinct clustering patterns among the control, non-gardening, and gardening groups. According to the pathway analysis, tryptophan metabolism including tryptophan, kynurenine, and serotonin showed significantly distinctive metabolites in the gardening group. Brain-derived neurotrophic factor levels (BDNF) in the gardening group were significantly increased after the gardening program. Correlation map analysis showed that the relative levels of tryptophan metabolites were positively correlated with BDNF. Our results show that tryptophan, kynurenine, and serotonin may be useful as metabolic biomarkers for improved cognitive ability by the gardening intervention.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of either chrysin or exercise on the inflammasome and thermogenic markers in the livers of high-fat fed mice. C57BL/6 mice were randomly assigned to four groups: normal diet control (NC; n=5), high-fat diet control (HC; n=5), high-fat diet with chrysin (Hch; n=5), and high-fat diet with moderate exercise (HME; n=5). The mice were fed a high-fat diet (60% of calories from fat) or normal diet (18% of calories from fat). Chrysin was supplemented orally as 50mg/kg/day dissolved in a 0.1ml solution of dimethyl sulfoxide. The exercised mice ran on a treadmill at 12-20 m/min for 30-60 min/day, 5 times/week, for 16 weeks. After the intervention, the epididymal fat and liver weights were significantly decreased in the HME group compared with HC and Hch groups. The adipocyte size was effectively decreased in the Hch and HME groups compared with the HC group. The inflammasome markers NLRP3, IL-1β, and caspase1 were significantly decreased in the Hch and HME groups compared with the HC group. The thermogenic markers PGC-1α and BMP7 were significantly lower in the HC than in the NC group. However, the HME group showed an increase in the thermogenic markers. In conclusion, chrysin and moderate exercise have positive effects on obese metabolic complications induced by high-fat diets by reducing inflammasome genes. However, chrysin supplementation had no effect on thermogenic gene expression. Moderate exercise would therefore seem to be more effective in controlling obesity-induced metabolic deregulation.
The obese metabolic complication has already occurred nowadays.The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of moderate intensity exercise on inflammation marker in the liver of high fat-diet-induced-obese mice.The 4 weeks male C57BL/6 mice were randomly dispersed to three groups: normal diet control (NC; n=10), high-fat diet control (HC; n=10), a high fat diet with moderate intensity exercise (HME; n=10) groups.The high fat diet was given 60% calories from fat whereas normal diet was given 18% calories from fat.The moderate intensity exercise group (HME) was set at 10m/min in the first 2 weeks, 12m/min in 3-5 weeks and 14m/min in 6-16 weeks.The inflammation markers were checked by quantitative Real Time PCR.The body and liver weight was significantly increased in the high fat diet group.The moderate intensity exercise significantly reduced the gene expression of TNFα, and IL-1β the pro inflammatory cytokine IL-10 was significantly decreased in the high fat diet group but not with moderate intensity exercise.In conclusion, moderate intensity exercise has a positive effect on the liver of high-fat-diet-induced obese by reducing inflammation gene expressions.However, there was no effect of moderate intensity exercise on TLR4 and IL-10.
The objective of this study was to determine the effects of gardening activities in senior individuals on brain nerve growth factors related to cognitive function. Forty-one senior individuals (age 76.6 ± 6.0 years) were recruited from the local community in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, South Korea. A 20-min low-to-moderate intensity gardening activity intervention, making a vegetable garden, was performed by the subjects in a garden plot located on the Konkuk University (Seoul, South Korea) campus. The gardening involved six activities including cleaning a garden plot, digging, fertilizing, raking, planting/transplanting, and watering. To determine the effects of the gardening activities on brain nerve growth factors related to memory, blood samples were drawn twice from each subject before and after the gardening activity by professional nurses. The levels of brain nerve growth factors, including brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and platelet derived growth factor (PDGF), were analyzed. Levels of BDNF and PDGF were significantly increased after the gardening activity. This study revealed a potential benefit of gardening activities for cognitive function in senior individuals.

METHODS C57BL/6 (4 weeks aged) male mice were divided into four groups; normal diet group (NC, n=10), high fat diet group (HC), high fat diet group with chrysin supplementation (HCh, n=10) and high fat diet with exercise group (HE, n=10). Lower physical performance is an important risk factor in hypokinetic-related chronic disease, metabolic syndrome, and muscle atrophy. Our previous research demonstrated that Platycodon grandiflorum-derived saponin (PS) protects against eccentric exercise-induced muscle damage and mitochondrial function-related peroxisomal acyl-coenzme A oxidase (ACOX-1) and carnitine palmitoyltransferase (CPT-1) in high-fat diet-induced non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, and it inhibits osteoclast differentiation. However, the effects of PS on physical performance remain unknown. Therefore, we investigated whether PS enhances physical activity and skeletal muscle function. Supplementation with PS (2 mg/kg for 4 weeks) increased grip strength, wheel running repetition, and time to exhaustion in treadmill and swimming exercises. Marked increases in the synthesis of skeletal muscle proteins and muscle stem cell-related paired-box 7 (PAX7) were observed, and a decrease in the negative regulator myostatin was associated with enhanced muscle regeneration. Furthermore, PS induced expression of mitochondrial function proteins, including OXPHOS-III and -IV, in vivo and in vitro. These results suggest that PS enhances exercise function by ameliorating skeletal muscle protein synthesis and mitochondrial function.
This study was conducted to investigate awareness and needs for care farming in South Korea. A questionnaire that includes 20 questions was developed for this study. The survey was answered by the 1,302 respondents who lived in the six cities such as Seoul, Incheon, Daejeon, Daegu, Ulsan, and Gwangju in the period of October 2016. The respondents who were aged over 20 years were recruited by a convenience sampling method. As the results, 50.4% and 40.1% of the respondents reported 'Know nothing' and 'Know of care farming', respectively. The experience for participating in care farming was low (29.0%). The purposes of participating in care farming reported as experience (31.4%), leisure (25.0%), and education (21.0%). Frequency of visiting for care farming complex was daily (44.3%) and 1 night 2days-3nights 4days (32.9%). Moreover, 67.7% of potential consumers had intention of paying the care farming fee. The acceptable fee reported as an average 11,339 won per day. In addition, needs for care farming complex was very high in the respondents with or without disease. The present study is anticipated to support the needs for care farming complex and provides reference data for administers in care farming.
