Facial ageing manifests in highly consistent, topologically predictable patterns, including nasolabial folds and tear troughs, despite wide inter-individual variation in anatomy and soft-tissue volume loss. Current clinical models emphasise adult structural changes but do not explain why age-related features localise to invariant facial interfaces or why corrective interventions often plateau. We hypothesised that lifelong facial mechanics are constrained by boundary domains established during embryonic morphogenesis and preserved throughout life. To investigate this, we developed a data-constrained 4D mechanochemical growth model of human facial development, anchored to three-dimensional Carnegie stage atlases (CS7-CS23) and whole-embryo imaging datasets. A virtual cohort of 5000 individuals was generated using statistical shape dynamics and diffeomorphic registration. The model simulated neural crest-driven patterning, extracellular matrix maturation, branchiomeric myogenesis, and neurovascular routing. An adherence-domain score, integrating stiffness, shear resistance, and temporal persistence, was used to identify emergent embryonic boundary precursors. Stabilised boundary domains emerged by Carnegie stage 16 in 87.4% of simulations and remained positionally invariant thereafter (mean centroid drift <1 mm). These domains predicted known adult retaining ligament locations and showed 91.6% spatial overlap with simulated neurovascular trajectories. Perioral and periorbital regions exhibited two- to threefold higher stiffness anisotropy than malar and frontal regions. Muscle fibres aligned preferentially with pre-patterned connective corridors, and simulated surface-level interventions reduced peak strain without displacing boundary position in 98.7% of cases. These findings indicate that facial ageing reflects the amplification of embryonically encoded mechanical boundaries rather than the de novo formation of folds. This developmental-mechanistic framework explains invariant ageing patterns and clarifies the limitations of volume-centric aesthetic strategies.
Facial expressions are known to play a key role in emotional communication, but their association with psychological well-being is less understood. This study explores whether facial contraction patterns, specifically in the Glabella, Frontalis, and Smile regions, correlate with psychological well-being, as measured by the WHO-5 Well-being Index. A cross-sectional observational study was conducted with 300 participants, aged 18 to 80 years, to assess the relationship between facial contraction patterns and psychological well-being. Participants’ facial contractions were photographed under standard conditions, and psychological well-being was measured using the WHO-5 Well-being Index. The contraction patterns were categorized for Glabella (e.g., U-pattern, V-pattern), Frontalis, and Smile (Duchenne vs. Non-Duchenne), and the results were analysed using ANOVA, multiple linear regression, logistic regression for depression risk, and machine learning predictive models. The phrase filler fatigue has gained traction in magazines, social media, and corporate commentary, invoked as though it represents an empirical decline in dermal filler use. Yet its clinical validity, cultural meaning, and market implications remain contested. We conducted a multi-layered analysis of peer-reviewed literature, 18,940 newspaper and magazine articles, 2.3 million social media posts, and financial disclosures from major aesthetics firms (AbbVie, Galderma, Revance–Teoxane, Hugel, Merz, Croma). Analytical techniques included natural language processing, sentiment and topic modelling, structural break and diffusion analyses, comparative corporate statistics, and exploratory scenario modelling. Findings were synthesised using a punctuated equilibrium framework. The peer-reviewed scientific literature does not contain an indexed article using the specific term ‘filler fatigue’. Background/Objectives: Actinic keratosis (AK) is a precancerous lesion that may progress into cutaneous cancer. However, the progression potential of individual lesions remains unpredictable. The histological basal proliferation pattern of AKs may serve as a risk marker for progression, yet it cannot be assessed clinically. The objective was to evaluate whether Olsen grading (hyperkeratosis of AKs) and pain as clinical markers correlate with the histological basal proliferation (PRO) and different histological aspects. Methods: In this retrospective two-center study, 380 clinically diagnosed AKs were graded according to the clinical Olsen classification (I–III) and assessed for pain upon palpation. Histologically, they were classified based on their basal- (PRO I–III) and upward-directed (AK I–III) growth patterns, and additional histopathological features, such as acantholysis, were documented. Results: Olsen grading showed weak correlation with the PRO classification (Spearman’s rho = 0.136, p = 0.008), with exact agreement of 36.3% (κ = 0.07). Pain was significantly associated with higher PRO grades (p = 0.005) and acantholysis (p = 0.023) but not with Olsen grades or upward-directed growth (AK I–III). Conclusions: Olsen grading does not allow reliable prediction of basal proliferation patterns in AKs. Its use as a clinical severity scale may suggest progression relevance; however, no substantiated association with histological indicators of transformation could be demonstrated in this study. The presence of pain, however, correlated with high PRO grades and the presence of acantholysis.
The biomechanics of frontalis muscle contraction and its interaction with skin remain contentious, particularly the debated bidirectional movement theory. This study introduces the quantum elasticity and resistance gradient (QERG) model to explain observed skin dynamics during frontalis contraction using elastic resistance principles. An AI-driven biomechanical model incorporating deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) was developed to simulate skin deformation and muscle forces during frontalis contraction. The model was trained using 3D facial scans from a diverse cohort of 600 subjects, representing various ethnicities, genders, and ages. Resistance gradients and wrinkle formation were calculated using finite element analysis, and machine learning (random forest, deep neural networks) was employed to predict skin behaviour. Cranial displacement averaged 6.9 mm across all subjects, with younger individuals (18–30 years) showing higher displacement than older individuals (50–65 years). Ethnic differences in displacement and wrinkle formation were observed, with Caucasians exhibiting greater displacement (7.3 mm) compared to African Americans and Asians (6.0 mm and 5.8 mm). The QERG model predicted skin folding at an average threshold of 41.2 mm above the eyebrows, with variations linked to ethnicity, age, and gender. AI models achieved high accuracy (R2 = 0.96), validating the model's predictive power. The QERG model confirms that frontalis muscle contraction is unidirectional, with skin folding attributed to elastic resistance rather than opposing forces. Background:A ready-to-use hyaluronic acid-calcium hydroxyapatite (HA-CaHA) hybrid injectable has a dual mode of action for soft-tissue augmentation. Although previous studies have reported a favorable safety profile for HA-CaHA, there is a need for guidelines and recommendations based on real-world clinical experience for the management of complications associated with HA-CaHA. Purpose:This publication provides guidelines and recommendations for the prevention and management of HA-CaHA-related complications. A case study example, treatment algorithms, and injection techniques are included to illustrate the management of complications. Materials and Methods:On January 25, 2023, 13 European physicians were invited to an advisory board meeting to discuss strategies for optimizing patient care, minimizing adverse events (AEs), and identifying data gaps for the prevention and management of complications with HA-CaHA. Results:The management of a subset of AEs, including skin discoloration and edema, was discussed. Small group workshops also shared management algorithms for late noninflammatory adverse reactions, late inflammatory adverse reactions, localized vascular complications, and retinal vascular complications. Best practices for optimal injection techniques were discussed, and injection-technique protocols were developed for treatment sites. Treatment strategies for HA-CaHA-related complications are considered similar to treatment of those resulting from single-agent fillers, and knowledge of anatomy, aseptic technique, correct injection techniques, and appropriate posttreatment care is emphasized. Conclusion:These recommendations on the management of HA-CaHA-related complications may serve as a reference for the broad range of clinicians using HA-CaHA hybrid injectable for different indications and can help optimize patient outcomes and safety.
BACKGROUND:Artificial daylight photodynamic therapy (ADL-PDT) is an alternative, all-year applicable, nearly painless treatment approach for actinic keratosis (AK) with comparable effectiveness to daylight or conventional PDT. At the time this study was initiated, methyl aminolaevulinate (MAL) was the only photosensitizer approved for ADL-PDT in Germany. OBJECTIVES:To gain comprehensive insights into the practicability of MAL-ADL-PDT in patients with AK using different artificial daylight sources under real-world conditions. METHODS:This prospective, noninterventional, multicentre study (ArtLight, NCT05725213) enrolled patients with Olsen grade 1 or 2 AK on the face and scalp in Germany. Patients were treated with MAL-ADL-PDT (160 mg g-1 MAL cream). The primary outcome measure was the practicability of MAL-ADL-PDT assessed as rate of resolved AK lesions in the focus area (10 × 10-cm area within the treatment area). Secondary outcomes included treatment-associated pain (numeric rating scale, NRS), Actinic Keratosis Area and Severity Index (AKASI), total lesion count over time, skin preparation, safety, overall assessment of effectiveness, tolerability, adherence and patient satisfaction. RESULTS:In total, 224 patients [median age 75.0 (range 50-91) years, 85.3% male, 62.5% AK Olsen grade 2, 55.4% treatment-naïve] were included and treated with MAL-ADL-PDT. Three months after treatment, lesion counts were reduced in the focus area by 71% (P < 0.001) indicating practicability of the treatment. Nearly all patients (93.3%) experienced no or mild pain during PDT (NRS score 0-3). Median AKASI decreased from 6.2 at baseline to 3.4 at month 3 (95% confidence interval 2.4-3.0; P < 0.001). The majority of investigators (82.8%) and patients (80.0%) were satisfied with the treatment. No new safety signals were reported. CONCLUSIONS:The clinical practicability of MAL-ADL-PDT was demonstrated under real-world conditions by effective lesion reduction and predominantly none-to-mild procedural pain. Thus, MAL-ADL-PDT is a convenient way for healthcare professionals to deliver PDT treatment to patients with AK located on the face and scalp.
Artificial daylight photodynamic therapy with methyl aminolevulinate is an effective and almost painless treatment approach for actinic keratoses. The objective of the prospective, non-interventional, multicentre study ArtLight (NCT05725213) was to gain comprehensive insights into the cosmetic effect of methyl aminolevulinate-artificial daylight photodynamic therapy in patients with actinic keratoses using different artificial daylight systems under real-world conditions. The study enrolled patients with Olsen grade 1 or 2 actinic keratoses on the face and scalp in Germany. Patients were treated with methyl aminolevulinate-artificial daylight photodynamic therapy. The cosmetic effect was assessed via photodamage parameters (global score for photoaging, mottled pigmentation, tactile roughness, telangiectasias, fine lines). Each photodamage variable was recorded on a 5-point scale (0–4). In total, 224 patients (median age: 75.0 years [range 50–91], 85.3% male, 62.5% Olsen grade 2, 55.4% treatment-naive) were treated with methyl aminolevulinate-artificial daylight photodynamic therapy. At month 3, all 5 parameters of photoaging were significantly reduced from baseline (p < 0.001). The majority of patients (81.3%) and investigators (83.6%) rated the cosmetic result as good or very good. Beyond effective eradication of actinic keratoses, field-directed methyl aminolevulinate-artificial daylight photodynamic therapy can improve photoaging symptoms, including tactile roughness, mottled pigmentation, telangiectasis, and fine lines. Thus methyl aminolevulinate-artificial daylight photodynamic therapy provides additional benefits, particularly for patients concerned with cosmetic outcomes during or after treatment.
Glabellar wrinkle patterns, a visible manifestation of facial dynamics and ageing, result from complex interactions between anatomical and functional variables such as muscle interdigitation density, skin elasticity, and subcutaneous tissue characteristics. The standard injection pattern for botulinum toxin type A (BoNTA) is widely used but assumes uniformity in these factors, potentially overlooking individual anatomical and demographic variability. This study evaluates whether the standard injection pattern adequately addresses these differences. Advanced biomechanical modelling and machine learning were employed to analyse the interactions between glabellar muscles, skin, and subcutaneous tissue. AI frameworks, including convolutional neural networks and long short-term memory networks, were trained on 3D facial scan data capturing dynamic expressions. Bayesian modelling quantified demography-specific predictors, while finite element analysis simulated wrinkle patterns under varying biomechanical conditions. The hybrid cohort included 600 participants (300 males, 300 females), evenly distributed across Caucasian (n = 150), African American (n = 150), Asian (n = 100), Hispanic (n = 100), and Middle Eastern (n = 100) ethnicities, aged 18–65 years. Significant predictors of wrinkle patterns were age (β = −0.64, p < 0.001), elasticity (β = 0.48, p < 0.01), and BMI (β = −0.52, p < 0.01). Within our cohort, higher interdigitation density was observed in Asian and African American participants, producing narrower wrinkle configurations (“11”, “V”), while lower densities in Caucasian and Hispanic groups allowed broader patterns (“omega”, “converging arrows”). BACKGROUND:OnabotulinumtoxinA is licensed in many countries for simultaneous treatment of three areas of the upper face: glabellar lines, 20 U; lateral canthal lines, 24 U; and forehead lines, 20 U. AIMS:To assess the onabotulinumtoxinA dosing science and dose-response relationship in the treatment of upper facial lines (UFL). METHODS:Key practical questions are addressed using available data. RESULTS:OnabotulinumtoxinA doses were selected for Phase 3 registrational trials based on rigorous dose-ranging studies. In clinical practice, it is important to consider the relationship between dose and efficacy outcomes, duration, and safety. Interstudy comparison of duration analyses is complicated by the lack of a single comprehensive definition, but trial data with standard onabotulinumtoxinA dosing in the glabella suggest a median effect duration of ~4 months. Treatment of UFL at below the approved dose is associated with a shorter duration, inferior response rates, and lower patient satisfaction; there is no evidence that underdosing reduces adverse event risk. It may therefore be advisable to avoid going below the licensed dose unless there is a clear clinical rationale. By contrast, there is growing evidence that treatment outcomes can be further improved using doses above those currently licensed, without adversely affecting safety-as demonstrated in the glabella. Further studies are needed to assess this in lateral canthal and forehead lines. Additional work is also required to examine potential ceiling doses and better understand the dose-response relationship in patient subgroups. CONCLUSIONS:Appropriate dosing of onabotulinumtoxinA is essential for maximizing benefit and ensuring patient satisfaction.
This study challenges the traditional dominance of facial symmetry as the gold standard of beauty by exploring facial asymmetry’s role in contemporary aesthetics. While symmetry has historically been associated with genetic fitness and attractiveness, evolving societal standards suggest growing recognition of asymmetry as a distinct aesthetic feature. This research aims to investigate whether facial asymmetry can play a positive role in beauty perceptions, especially across different demographic groups, and examines the influence of cultural norms, social media trends, and generational shifts. Using a dataset of 10,000 facial images, both real-world and synthetic, rated by 200 participants, this study applied machine learning models to quantify facial asymmetry and its relationship to attractiveness. Dlib and OpenCV were used to detect facial landmarks, measuring deviations in the jawline, mouth, and eyes. Multiple regression models and convolutional neural networks (CNNs) were employed to predict attractiveness, incorporating sociocultural variables like cultural norms, social media influence, and generational shifts. A moderate negative correlation (− 0.31) between facial asymmetry and attractiveness, with stronger sensitivity to jawline asymmetry was found. However, younger generations; Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, including other diverse sexual and gender identities (LGBTQIA+) participants, and respondents from East Asia had more neutral or positive perceptions of asymmetry. CNN models achieved an R-squared value of 0.68, underscoring the impact of sociocultural factors. A quantum-like mathematical model further illustrated how beauty perceptions shift over time. This study highlights a shift in beauty standards, where asymmetry is gaining recognition, especially among younger generations and underrepresented groups. The findings suggest that the true essence of beauty lies in embracing individuality and redefining attractiveness beyond traditional ideals. Exosomes, diminutive extracellular vesicles, are integral to intercellular communication, harbouring potential for applications in regenerative medicine and aesthetic interventions. The field, however, grapples with the complexities of harmonising exosome characterisation protocols and safeguarding therapeutic integrity. In this scholarly overview, systematic adherence to the Cochrane Collaboration and Preferred Reporting Items for Overviews of Reviews guidelines was observed, scrutinising the congruence of exosome-related therapies with the Minimal Information for Studies of Extracellular Vesicles standards delineated by the International Society for Extracellular Vesicles, alongside criteria set forth by the International Society for Cell Therapy and the International Society for Stem Cell Research. A meticulous search strategy spanning databases such as PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, EMBASE, and Cochrane database was employed to encapsulate studies pertinent to the isolation, characterisation, and functional assessment of exosomes. The initial search yielded 225 articles, of which 17 systematic reviews were selected based on predefined criteria, encompassing 556 primary studies. Notwithstanding the acknowledged therapeutic promise of exosome modalities, the synthesis illuminated a prevalent deficiency in adherence to established reporting and experimental benchmarks, notably in exosome source characterisation and bioactive constituent delineation. A critical appraisal employing the AMSTAR-2 tool underscored a pervasive shortfall in methodological rigour. This review accentuates the imperative for stringent methodological standardisation within exosome research to fortify the validity and reproducibility of empirical findings. Amidst the burgeoning therapeutic optimism, the discipline must rectify methodological disparities and comply with regulatory mandates, ensuring the ethically sound and scientifically robust advancement of exosome-based therapeutic modalities. Purpose: Successful treatment of facial lines with botulinum toxin is largely dependent on patient satisfaction; thus, a structured treatment journey that uses patient-reported outcomes (PROs) is helpful for maximizing botulinum toxin results. To develop a patientcentric approach for botulinum toxin injections in facial aesthetics, a group of clinicians met to provide opinions on an optimal treatment journey that uses PROs to quantify treatment benefits on patient quality of life. Patients and Methods: A multidisciplinary panel of 9 clinicians with expertise in facial aesthetic procedures convened for an advisory board that was preceded by and followed up with a structured, multistep consensus discussion. Based on current literature, the panel's expertise, structured questions, and group discussion, panelists assessed, reconciled, and agreed upon on a patient journey for botulinum toxin treatment in facial aesthetics. Results: Panelists agreed that an optimal patient journey includes screening, assessment, treatment, posttreatment, and follow-up visits. A compact, easy-to-complete, and digital PRO questionnaire should be provided before the visit. During screening, thorough assessments are integral for a successful patient journey because they provide an opportunity to understand treatment goals, address patient concerns, discuss risks and benefits, obtain medication lists/medical history, and take pretreatment photographs. Treatment strategies should include discussing and educating on the approach/choice of botulinum toxin and ensuring patients are comfortable. Posttreatment, clinicians should request intense muscle movements to enhance product uptake and be available to address patient concerns. Finally, during follow-up, PRO questionnaires can be provided to gauge patient satisfaction with treatment, and pretreatment photographs can be provided to allow patients to track their progression. Follow-ups should be scheduled with new patients or those reporting low satisfaction. Conclusion: Establishing a relationship, being aware of the patient's goals, and developing an individualized care plan allows for a structured, patient-centered treatment journey that promotes positive aesthetic outcomes.
Eyebrow position affects perceived facial expression and youthfulness, and its modification is a key component of facial rejuvenation. This investigation aimed to assess the preferred vertical eyebrow position, apex location, and eyebrow shape in Caucasian and Asian individuals and to analyze gaze patterns during aesthetic judgment using eye-tracking technology. The study included 76 Asian and Caucasian volunteers with no medical background. Eye movements were captured with a Tobii Pro Nano eye-tracker. Participants viewed AI-generated images of Caucasian and Asian females with varied eyebrow positions (ratios 1:1.3 to 1:2.5), shapes (angles 8° to 20°), and apex positions. Aesthetic preferences were rated on a 5-point Likert scale. Eye-tracking metrics and aesthetic ratings were statistically analyzed using ANOVA and bivariate correlations. Both genders across ethnicities preferred a moderate eyebrow position ratio of 1:1.6. For eyebrow shapes, a 12° angle received the highest ratings, while extremes were less favored, indicating a preference for moderately curved eyebrows. The most appealing apex position was above the lateral canthus for Asians, and halfway between the lateral limbus and lateral canthus for Caucasians. Eye-tracking revealed longer fixations on unattractive features, suggesting more complex cognitive processing, while attractive features were processed more efficiently. The study revealed that aesthetic preferences for eyebrow features are influenced by both ethnic background and gender, with a general preference toward moderately curved eyebrows and subtle variations in preferred positions. These findings suggest a need for culturally sensitive approaches in facial aesthetic procedures and highlight the potential of eye-tracking technology to enhance surgical planning. Surgeons are advised to adopt a conservative, patient-centered approach when modifying eyebrow features, considering individual and cultural aesthetics to maximize patient satisfaction. IntroductionThe rising use of soft tissue fillers for aesthetic procedures has seen an increase in complications, including vascular occlusions and neurological symptoms that resemble stroke. This study synthesizes information on central nervous system (CNS) complications post-filler injections and evaluates the effectiveness of hyaluronidase (HYAL) treatment.MethodsA thorough search of multiple databases, including PubMed, EMBASE, Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and Cochrane, focused on publications from January 2014 to January 2024. Criteria for inclusion covered reviews and case reports that documented CNS complications related to soft tissue fillers. Advanced statistical and computational techniques, including logistic regression, machine learning, and Bayesian analysis, were utilized to dissect the factors influencing therapeutic outcomes.ResultsThe analysis integrated findings from 20 reviews and systematic analyses, with 379 cases reported since 2018. Hyaluronic acid (HA) was the most commonly used filler, particularly in nasal region injections. The average age of patients was 38, with a notable increase in case reports in 2020. Initial presentation data revealed that 60.9% of patients experienced no light perception, while ptosis and ophthalmoplegia were present in 54.3 and 42.7% of cases, respectively. The statistical and machine learning analyses did not establish a significant linkage between the HYAL dosage and patient recovery; however, the injection site emerged as a critical determinant.ConclusionThe study concludes that HYAL treatment, while vital for managing complications, varies in effectiveness based on the injection site and the timing of administration. The non-Newtonian characteristics of HA fillers may also affect the incidence of complications. Contemporary society is witnessing a surge in non-surgical aesthetics and plastic surgery, reflecting a growing interest in physical enhancement and rejuvenation. However, despite this burgeoning trend, there remains a gap in the literature concerning the ethical considerations, patient empowerment strategies, and empathetic engagement within these fields. This systematic review follows the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines, systematically searching relevant literature from January 2010 to January 2024 across multiple databases. The search aimed to identify studies focusing on ethics, empowerment, and empathy within aesthetics and plastic surgery. Thematic analysis was utilised to synthesise the findings from the selected studies. The systematic literature search yielded 344 articles, from which 16 met the inclusion criteria. Thematic analysis of these studies revealed key themes revolving around ethical considerations, patient empowerment, empathetic engagement, and the concept of empowered empathy. Additionally, the review proposed the Harmonised Ethical and Empowered Empathy for Aesthetic Literacy (HEEAL) paradigm as a guiding framework for personalised practice in these fields. Empathy, while acknowledged as essential for patient care, presents challenges such as empathy contagion and fatigue. The proposed HEEAL paradigm provides a comprehensive framework for delivering personalised patient-centred care in non-surgical aesthetics and plastic surgery. Introduction This systematic review delves into the impact of social media on self-perception and the escalating interest in clinical aesthetic procedures, proposing that social media significantly influences beauty standards and increases demand for aesthetic enhancements. Method Following PRISMA guidelines, a mixed-method analysis of 34 articles was conducted, sourced from various databases, focusing on social media's psychological effects on clinical aesthetics decisions. The studies encompassed a broad spectrum, including qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methodologies, reflecting diverse geographical and cultural perspectives. Results The quantitative analysis demonstrated a strong positive correlation between social media usage and the consideration of aesthetic procedures (r=0.45, p<0.001), indicating a significant impact. Specific findings included a large effect size (Cohen's d=0.8) for the relationship between time spent on social media and the desire for aesthetic enhancements. Individuals spending more than 3 hours per day on social media platforms were twice as likely to consider aesthetic procedures compared to those with less usage, with a 95% confidence interval indicating robustness in these findings. Conclusion Confirming the reinforcing effect of social media on aesthetic decision-making, this study highlights the complex interplay between digital media exposure, altered self-perception, and the increased inclination towards aesthetic procedures. It suggests a critical need for practitioners to carefully navigate the digital influence on patient's desires, reinforcing the significance of understanding psychological motivations and societal pressures in clinical aesthetics. Background:The global aesthetic medicine industry is expanding rapidly, with conferences serving as crucial platforms for knowledge exchange and collaboration. However, concerns have emerged about the increasing prioritization of commercial content over scientifically rigorous presentations. This study critically evaluates the balance between commercial and scientific content at aesthetic medicine conferences, using artificial intelligence (AI) tools to analyze the impact of industry sponsorship and live procedural demonstrations on educational value.Method:Using the punctuated equilibrium framework, AI-driven content analysis, social network analysis, and sentiment analysis were applied to evaluate conference data, including programs, sponsorship details, speaker affiliations, and attendee engagement metrics. The study analyzed global and regional aesthetic medicine conferences from 2014 to 2024, identifying patterns and punctuated shifts in the balance between scientific and commercially driven content.Results:AI-based analysis of 487 conferences, comprising more than 28,000 sessions and 2 million social media posts, revealed an increasing trend toward commercially focused content, particularly in industry-sponsored events. Approximately 44% of sessions were commercially oriented, with significant spikes during product launches. Academic and clinical speakers were more prevalent in scientific conferences, whereas industry-affiliated speakers dominated commercial sessions. Social media sentiment, analyzed using AI tools, reflected high engagement with procedural demonstrations, but also highlighted concerns about educational quality.Conclusions:Although industry-driven sessions garnered higher immediate engagement, they reduced long-term cognitive retention and compromised the educational integrity of conferences. The use of AI in this study enabled a deeper understanding of content trends and their effects. Aesthetic medicine conferences must recalibrate the balance between commercial interests and scientific rigor to ensure sustainable professional development and patient safety.
