The survey was conducted after a concept of level 5 of self-driving cars by NHTSA (2016) was explained to respondents. This study examined the impact of network externalities and monetary issues on perceived benefit and sacrifice, including perceived value, trust and intention to use. The results indicated that indirect network externalities have a stronger effect than direct network externalities on the perceived benefit and intention to use. This study also revealed that concerns for safety and privacy were the main barriers to intention to use. Furthermore, the trust and value are considered important factors by consumers who choose self-driving cars; thus, self-driving car makers should consider how to increase these points. This study may offer a comprehensive model for the acceptance of self-driving cars and is expected to help expand and advance the Value-based Adoption Model. This study also provides practical implications for marketing related to customers' technology acceptance. This study aims to use ISM to identify the enablers affecting the acceptance of IoT services. For this purpose, this study conducted an ISM analysis and a MICMAC analysis, extracted the enablers from Internet of Things - An Action Plan for Europe published by the EU for the research, and conducted interviews and surveys. The study found that it would be preferentially necessary to prepare the base for successful IoT services through international cooperation and the security of objective data. In addition, it turned out that it would be necessary to make efforts to spread and develop IoT services by conducting R&D and implementing projects through public-private partnerships and the organization of a consultative group. Lastly, since information security and standardization are the desired objects of the IoT industry, it was found that both the government and the industrial world should focus on them. This study has significance in that it can provide practical implications for the effective acceptance of IoT services.
Purpose - The Millennial Generation, which grew in the wake of the spread of the Internet and rapid changes in the media environment, is rapidly moving from the traditional broadcasting environment to the Internet-broadcasting environment in terms of content acceptance. With the emergence of UGC (User-generated content), the change in the status of single-person content creators enables the growth of multi-channel networks (MCN), a new content-distribution platform and an agency concept for single creators. Youtube-based MCN produces multiple single star producers and casts and provides its own video series through Youtube. It is also emerging as a major M&A target for global media providers in terms of providing content to a wide range of consumers with the same interests and consumption characteristics. In addition, for the Millennials generation, which are part of their lives, MCN is becoming the most suitable media for TGIF (Twitter, Google, i-phone, Facebook). Accordingly, this study defines newly emerging MCNs and analyzes the factors for accepting MCN-produced content based on the push-pull-mooring (PPM) model. Research design, data, and methodology - An empirical analysis is performed through a questionnaire survey. For this purpose, 204 people who have experience of watching MCN were studied. Collected data is processed through analysis of a structural equation model using R to test the hypothesis. Results - For the MCN service to become an alternative to existing media, it is necessary to continuously promote cultural diversity and diversity of attempts that conventional media cannot provide. It is the attractiveness of the alternative that has the greatest influence on the intention to switch to a MCN service. When we look at MCN content so far, certain patterns such as game progress, introduction, food, and chat rooms have already appeared. We need to overcome this and develop a completely new conceptual content that we have never seen before. This requires a more generous viewer perception of the topics covered. For diversity, linguistic and verbal violence should be tolerant in common sense to provide a foundation for securing cultural diversity. Conclusions - In this study, we tried to develop a comprehensive approach to the substitution effect of MCN. In terms of academic achievement, the PPM model is used to enhance the utilization of media and broadcasting. Practical implications are to provide an analytical framework for verifying alternative or complementary effects when viewers switch to MCN.
This study analyzed the efficiency of global major mobile operators and the reason for their efficiency. For this purpose, the financial data of 96 operators in 40 OECD member countries were utilized. Based on this financial data, this study conducted a comparative analysis of the efficiency among operators and among countries. As for the analysis method, productivity was estimated, using the Malmquist Index. Operation efficiency and technology efficiency were estimated to analyze what elements acted on the productivity. The analysis results revealed that the productivity of mobile operators was led by technology efficiency. In verification among the countries, there was also cause for productivity enhancement; this was due to the process of conversion from 3G to 4G or M&A, but effective competition should be formed to increase productivity.
An information system (IS) upgrade is an essential way to enhance the competitiveness of an organization. Specifically, the decision making processes surrounding IS upgrades is one of the most important parts of an organization's competitiveness in regard to business sustainability. Previous research studies on IS upgrade decisions have focused on implementing a more efficient decision-making system by determining when IS upgrades should be performed based on the cost factor, from the perspective of both users and experts. However, if the decision making of an IS upgrade is delayed or not performed accurately due to the limitations of a specific business environment, such as a job, position, or cost, an organization can lose its business competitiveness. In this context, the present study determines the main factors involved in decision making processes surrounding IS upgrades, and analyzes the interrelations among these factors in an organization with regard to users, managers, and experts. The interpretive structural modeling (ISM) method is used as an analytical tool to analyze the characteristics and interrelations of factors based on a real system model called the User-Centered Training System (UCTS). Based on the results, the present study provides a deeper insight into decision-making factors and directional models, and allows for a more efficient management of the decision-making problem of an IS upgrade caused by differences in the business environment between each layer (i.e., users, managers, and experts). Specifically, according to our results, users are more likely to think about the positive effects and benefits they could have on their work, rather than about organizational benefits. By contrast, managers reason that IS upgrades should have a positive impact on the overall organizational goals and benefits. Finally, experts think that an IS upgrade should benefit both the organization and users. Taken together, the results of the present study are meaningful in that they clearly show the interrelationships between the decision-making factors on each of the levels.
This study aims to examine Gov. 3.0 (E-government) efficiency of 42 central administrative agencies in Republic of Korea and to identify the critical factors which can have an influence on the improvement of Gov. 3.0 efficiency. The methodology of this paper consists of data envelopment analysis (DEA) and second stage analysis of DEA for 42 central administrative agencies in Republic of Korea. The first stage is DEA to measure the bootstrapped efficiency of Gov. 3.0 for 42 agencies. In the second stage, regression analysis is conducted to identify factors that affect the efficiency of the Gov. 3.0 in central administrative agencies using efficiency measures as dependent variable. The result of this study shows that three factors, citizen-centric service integration, IT investment for system construction, and separate IT integration centre, are the most important factors affecting Gov. 3.0 efficiency. Especially, Separate IT integration centre is the factor affecting technical efficiency. Establishing separate IT integration centre (within an affiliated organisation) can amplify the ability to converting input to output. System construction is the factor that affects scale efficiency. It can be expected that constructing integrated and new IT system can efficiently manage inputs and outputs. Consequently, the empirical results of this study can serve as a guide for E-government to promote digital innovation and citizen-centric reform in the public sector.
This study aims to comprehensively examine the adoption of smart home service. A new model combining VAM (Value-based Adoption Model) and TAM (Technical Acceptance Model) was developed and analysed with a set of variables from Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology and Elaboration Likelihood Model. Perceived value was affected by both perceived benefit and perceived sacrifice. In particular, perceived benefit was found to have a strong positive effect on perceived value. In contrast, privacy risk and innovation resistance were found to limit perceived value. This study holds considerable significance as it proposes a new approach to IoT (Internet of Things)-based smart home service adoption using VAM and TAM. Through these two models, the study determined that it is imperative for businesses to constitute and secure appropriate infrastructure for residents to use IoT-based smart home service. Developing content related to security is also crucial.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to evaluate the value of smart home service using contingent valuation method that is the method evaluating the value of service which will be provided in the future. Using this method, this study suggests proper price and market value of smart home service through figuring out customer's willingness to pay. Methods To estimate willingness to pay for smart home service, this study uses double bounded dichotomous choice question. The survey was conducted for 2 months from December in 2015 to February in 2016. A total of 269 copies were used to estimate through R-programming. Results The results of this study are as follows; Gender(especially woman), income, proposed price are the factors which affecting willingness to pay. As the result of this study, average price of willingness to pay for smart home service estimates as â©29,653. Comparing with high-speed internet bundling service fee, this estimated price for smart home service is appropriate level for customers to accept. Conclusion This study estimates consumer's willingness to pay for smart home service which is in the market entry stage. In corporate side, this study might be meaningful for estimating investment scale and profit. The purpose of this study is to propose the effective location-based IoT service acceptance model by integrating ELM (Elaboration Likelihood Model) with UTAUT (Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology). The Partial Least Squares was used to analyze the causal relationships with respect to the effects of central route and peripheral route on acceptance intention. The results shows that central route has more significant impacts on perceived usefulness than peripheral route and CFIP (Concern for Information Privacy) weaken the relationship of acceptance intention and perceived usefulness. Our findings indicate some meaningful implications in the acceptance research of IOT services. First, we noted that the easy of use significantly affects the adoption of location-based IoT service. Furthermore, it is important to build the secured mechanism of privacy protection to adopt of location-based IoT service. Second, we tried to attempt the newly integrated approach to technical acceptance using UTAUT's variables and ELM by Petty and Cacioppo (1986). Finally this research empirically analyzed the adoption case of location-based IoT service which is not well-known yet within our country.
This study conducted an analysis on the acceptance of payment-type Fintech services based on the Elaboration Likelihood Model by Petty and Cacioppo (1) and by applying variables associated with the Technology Acceptance Model. In addition, it analyzed the causal relationship between CFIP (Concern for Information Privacy) and Self-efficacy by adopting them as moderating variables. The implications of this study are that in invigorating payment-type Fintech services, convenience and usefulness are the most critical inflential variables in terms of use, while from an institutional aspect, government deregulation and stronger security are called for.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to grasp the level of effects innovative features and quality of the appliance system on organizational performance and ultimately analyze the willingness of the IT staff to adopt an appliance system. Methods: The survey was conducted on 350 vendorsâ clients and partners who currently use an appliance system from March to May 2014. A total of 331 effective questionnaires were collected and analyzed using PASW18 and SmartPLS. Results: The results show that relative advantage, facilitating condition and trialability and quality factors all had an effect on organizational performance expectations. Further, when an appliance system is adopted, it was shown that cost and reliability emphasized by a vendor did not produce any significant effects on organizational performance expectations. Conclusion: This study is significant as it is the first to combine such models as Innovation Diffusion Theory, Information Systems Success Model, and Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology with a new external variable. In addition, it illustrated how variables affect the adoption of an appliance system such as a new innovation system. In this paper, we identify the industrial characteristics of portal sites by using stochastic frontier analysis and to bit regression. As a result of the analyses, the study proposed that market share and an appropriate level of fixed assets, not human resources, have a positive impact on the efficiency of portal sites. It also revealed that portal sites are no longer an innovative industry, but are showing characteristics more similiar to a traditional industry. Portal sites provide a variety of resources (public, media, and entertainment) and service (search engine, e-mail, forum) to a large number of subscribers and generate main profit from corporate advertisements. At the beginning, portal sites provided access to the Web, but it has developed and more services are supplied today(4).As ICT(Information and communication technologies) have also advanced rapidly, portal sites undergo the new changes as they become categorized into SNS, mobile apps, and others. Then they have become more organized and bigger as well as manufacturing. In this regard, and in an environment evolving from PCs to mobiles, this study aims to analyze the business characteristics of portal sites based on an analysis of efficiency (3). In order to achieve our goal, stochastic frontier analysis and to bit regression were used. The paper structure of the paper is consisted as follows. First, we examine the research background and purpose. Second, describe the methodology that our paper used. Third, we provide results of the analysis. Finally, we discuss the implications of our results and review the limitations of the study.
The terrestrial TV service operator has begun to represent the increasing share of content production in media industry. Even though few differences can be found in different countries, CPND (Contents-Platform- Network-Devices) is the most important value chain in every country. Despite the importance of CPND, there are relatively few studies about effectiveness of terrestrial TV operation. In this research, DEA method is used to measure effectiveness of major Terrestrial TV service operator using such variables as capital, employee, and asset. This research also attempts to provide the better accurate results by removing bias of the estimates through bootstrap DEA proposed by Simar and Wilson (1). It analyzes the cause of efficiency by Tobit regression after setting the dependent variable as a proposed efficiency score. Moreover, the current research helps to find the causes of efficiency in various aspects by analyzing the differences in efficiency between countries, private/public service operators, and sizes through Wilcoxon Test.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate administrative efficiency of the Korean university and to identify the factors which may affect on the efficiency of universities. In addition, last purpose of this study was to compare correlation among administrative, research and education model. Methods: The collected data through Higher Education in Korea were analysed using DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis). Furthermore, in order to provide the better accurate results by removing the bias of the results, this paper implements Bootstrap DEA. It also analyzed the causes of efficiency by Tobit Regression after setting the dependent variable as a proposed efficiency score and compared correlation analysis results between other models. Results: The results of this study are as follows; First, the Korean universities showed low administrative efficiencies. Second, efficiency of national universities are higher than it of private universities. Finally, the administrative and research education model have statistically significant correlation. However, usually many Korean universities focus their resources on education performance such as employment and rates to attract new students than research performances. Conclusion: This study shows that the administrative efficiency positively affects both research and educational efficiency. Approximately 70% of the Korean universities needs to improve their administrative efficiencies and to pay attention to enhance their poor services, low-level performances.
With the rapidly expanding social network service, the distribution of information shows that social networks have evolved into platforms of communication and new information sharing among users. Previous studies are focused on the motivational factors of information sharing through social networking service. However, in this study, we focus on the factors that affect intention to share information in terms of both user's psychological motivation and functional characteristics of social network service. This study shows that factors such as enjoyfulness, image, identity and communication positively affect the attitude and intention of information sharing.
Purpose: Due to the explosive growth and widespread use of smartphones, new business opportunities are emerging. Despite the importance of creating customer value in using smartphone applications, past studies on have mainly focused on functions or factors and specifications that influence users to use the device. Methods: This study is intended to identify how customer dissatisfaction from the use of smartphone application services affects customer sentiment and behavior. The research model is tested via a survey of 290 smartphone application users. Results: The result of this empirical study indicates that customer dissatisfaction significantly affects the user's disappointment and regret in using a service, which are subordinate values of customer emotion. The user's anger is positively associated with 'Negative word of mouth' and 'Complaint', which are subordinate values of customer behavior, but not with an intention to switch to another service. 'Regret' and 'Disappointment' are positively associated with 'Negative word of mouth' and 'Switching intention', but not with 'Making direct complaints'. Finally, customer's negative sentiments are a significant intermediary in the relationship between customer dissatisfaction and behavioral response. Conclusion: Finally, the study offers a more systematic understanding on the phasal response process of customer dissatisfaction in relation to the provision of smartphone application services.
It is essential that firm makes a rational and scientific decision making and creates a news value for the future direction. To do so, many firms attempt to collect meaningful data and find the filtered and refined implication for the better customer relationship and the active market drive through the various analytic tools. Among the possible IT solutions, utilization of 'Big Data' is becoming more attractive and necessary in such a way that it would help firms obtain the systemized and demanding information and facilitate their decision making process to keep up with the market needs. In this paper, it introduces the concepts and development of 'Big Data' recognized as a IT resource and solution under the rapidly changing firm environment. This study also presents the several firm cases using Big Data' and the Oracle's total data management and analytic solutions in order to support the application of 'Big Data'. Finally this paper provides a holistic viewpoint and realistic approach on use of 'Big Data' to create a new value.
