Bio
Andreas Neyer received the Diploma degree in physics from the Technical University of Dortmund, Dortmund, Germany, and the Dr.Ing. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Hagen, Hagen, Germany, in 1978 and 1982, respectively.
He was with the University of Hagen, where he worked on integrated optical modulators in LiNbO3. In 1990, he became an Assistant Professor of optical information systems with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Technical University of Dortmund, where he has been a Professor and the Leader of the Laboratory of Microstructure Technologies since 1994. He has been working on low-cost passive single- and multimode optical components in polymers using mass replication techniques, such as injection moulding, hot embossing, and casting since 1990. His current research interests include the production development of low-loss and high temperature stable large-area optical waveguide layers for integration in printed circuit boards.
