Avik Sengupta received the B.Tech. degree in electronics and communication engineering from the St.Thomas’ College of Engineering and Technology (West Bengal University of Technology), Kolkata, India, in 2010, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from Kansas State University in 2012, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech in 2016. He has held internship positions with Qualcomm Inc., Huawei R&D (Futurewei), and Blackberry (Advanced Technology Group). He is currently a Wireless Systems Engineer with the Next Generation and Standards (NGS) Group, Intel Corporation, involved in the design and standardization of next generation 5G wireless networks. His research interests include wireless communication systems with an emphasis on low latency content distribution and caching in wireless networks, information theory, multiple antenna communications, and applications of machine learning in cellular systems.
