个人简介
Dr. Janice Kiecolt-Glaser’s work addresses behavioral influences on immune and endocrine function. Her current projects address how stress and depression enhance inflammation, and how dietary and behavioral interventions may lower inflammation. For example, two of her current randomized control trials, one with medical student subjects and another with older adults, are testing the hypothesis that omega-3 supplementation can attenuate stress-related changes in inflammation and mood. Other current studies address questions such as how genetic and environmental influences contribute to depression and immune dysregulation in older adults, the impact of major life stressors on the progression of basal cell carcinoma, the extent to which a yoga intervention can modulate endocrine and immune responses in breast cancer survivors, and the role that proinflammatory cytokines play in combination with depression among cancer survivors who experience debilitating fatigue.
