Habiba Hafdallah Ouslimani (Member, IEEE) was born in Tebessa, Algeria. She received the Diploma of Higher Education degree in physics from the University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene, Bab Ezzouar, Algeria, in 1980, and the master’s, Ph.D., and the Doctorat d’Etat degrees from the Institute of Fundamental Electronics (IEF), Group of Rapid Circuits and Quantum Optics (CROQ), Centre National de Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), University Paris 11-Orsay, Paris, France, in 1981, 1983, and 1990, respectively. She defends the Doctorat d’Etat diploma on “Study of High-Speed Physical Phenomena in Field Effect Transistors,” Institute Electronic University Paris 11 Orsay, May, 1990.
From 1984 to 1990, she was an Assistant Professor with the Department of Electronics and Industrial Informatics, Institute of Technology Cachan, University of Paris 11-Orsay.
She joined University Paris Nanterre, Nanterre, France, in 1990, as an Associate Professor. She involved in ultrafast circuits for high-speed communications (>40 GB/s) between 1990 and 2002. She initiated, participated, and collaborated on several scientific projects on the design of high-speed switching circuits (few picoseconds) mainly on the technologies of “InP hetero-structures Bipolar Transistors.” Since 2002, she has been a Full Professor (PR EX) and leads Applied Electromagnetic Group, Energetic Mechanics Electromagnetic Laboratory, University Paris-Nanterre. Her research interests include metamaterials, periodic structures, frequency selective surfaces, and partially reflective surfaces. The main applications of the metasurfaces concern the design of low profile and miniaturized antennas, ultrathin radar absorbers, mutual coupling effects reduction, RCS characterization, FSS filters, and duplexer polarization conversion. She has a patent on V/UHF antennas. She is currently working on the characterization methods of miniaturized objects (antennas) using electromagnetic backscattering method (radar cross section measurements). She participated and led, during this last decade, more than seven research programs and research contracts with French Clusters, DGA, and national grand groups. From 2011 to 2014, she represented the French DGA in the NATO SET-181 Meeting devoted to Metamaterials for Defense and Security Applications. She is currently the President of the IEEE AP-S France Chapter and leader of her research group.
