个人简介
I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in the lab of Maria Maryanovich at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and a former postdoc of the late Paul Frenette. My role in the lab will be to study how the nervous system controls the generation of immune cells in the bone marrow (i.e., hematopoiesis) in health and disease.
I recently graduated with my Ph.D. in Neuroscience from The Ohio State University in the laboratory of Phillip G. Popovich. My research focused on two related areas: 1) develop humanized mice to study how human cells contribute to pathology and repair after spinal cord injury; and 2) understand how spinal cord injury impairs hematopoiesis, the physiological process of developing peripheral immune and red blood cells in the bone marrow.
My overall goal is to build a career in biomedical research in an academic setting. I have wide-ranging scientific interests related to central nervous system injury and repair, neuroimmunology, central nervous system regulation of peripheral immunity/hematopoiesis, and developing therapeutic strategies to ameliorate disease burden.
