Renée's research highlights organizational design problems to which seemingly inefficient governance mechanisms are the solution; her research also highlights the role selection plays in understanding corporate leaders.
Her work has a strong policy orientation and lies at the intersection between economics, finance, management and psychology. It is informed by her diverse career path that started at the New York Fed and led to universities in Sweden and Australia with visiting positions in Norway and other countries along the way. She has research using data on the Federal Reserve, and research using data from each country she has worked in, as well as from other countries with which she has a strong connection. Her research is also informed by her interactions with scholars in other disciplines: in recent work she uses survey techniques and psychological and law-based questionnaires.
