Introduction: Artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots have the potential to transform healthcare delivery, but their adoption among medical practitioners remains unclear. This study aimed to evaluate the knowledge, perception, attitude, practice, and barriers among Indian medical practitioners towards AI chatbots. Methodology: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 389 Indian medical practitioners using a structured questionnaire. The questionnaire assessed socio-demographic characteristics, knowledge, perception, attitude, practice, and barriers related to AI chatbots. Results: The majority of respondents (49.5%) were not familiar with AI chatbots, and only 26.5% reported using them. Nevertheless, 47.0% perceived AI chatbots as having a positive impact on academics and practice. The key barriers to adoption were lack of knowledge (48.8%), limited access (20.0%), and privacy concerns (12.0%). The study shows a significant association between knowledge of AI, its use, and positive perception. Subgroup analysis also revealed significant associations between practice type, technology access, and years of experience. Conclusion: The study highlights a significant gap between awareness and practical utilization of AI chatbots among Indian medical practitioners. Targeted training, clear guidelines, and system-level integration are needed to improve adoption and realize the potential of AI chatbots in healthcare delivery

2Prevalence and Correlates of Hedonic Hunger among Youth Attending a Primary Health Center in South India: A Cross-Sectional Study.

Background and objective Hedonic hunger, defined by eating driven by pleasure rather than physiological need, contributes significantly to obesity and metabolic disorders. Limited data exist on hedonic hunger prevalence among Indian youth, particularly in primary healthcare settings. The present study aimed to estimate the prevalence of hedonic hunger and its sociodemographic and lifestyle correlates among youth aged 15-29 years in a South Indian primary healthcare setting. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted among 241 youth attending a Primary Health Center in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. Hedonic hunger was measured using the Power of Food Scale (PFS). Sociodemographic data, lifestyle factors, dietary behaviors, and anthropometric measurements were collected. High hedonic hunger was defined as a PFS score greater than 34. Associations were analyzed using chi-square tests and multivariable logistic regression. Results All 241 participants provided valid PFS scores, resulting in a 100% response rate. The mean age was 24.0 ± 4.6 years, with 67.6% being female. The mean PFS score was 27.80 ± 9.93. The prevalence of high hedonic hunger was 25.3%, with a 95% confidence interval (CI) of 20.2% to 31.2%. High hedonic hunger was significantly more prevalent among males than females (38.5% vs. 19.0%, p = 0.002). Multivariable analysis revealed that the influence of advertisements (adjusted odds ratio (OR) = 6.00), family income below ₹15,000 (adjusted OR = 5.33), and smoking habit (adjusted OR = 10.85) were significant predictors of high hedonic hunger. Conclusions High hedonic hunger affected one-quarter of youth in this South Indian primary healthcare setting, with notable gender disparities. Strong associations with modifiable lifestyle factors suggest key targets for intervention. These findings highlight the need to incorporate hedonic hunger assessment into routine primary care and to develop targeted behavioral interventions for youth.

5Neuroprotective Effects of Naringin Against Lead Acetate-Induced Oxidative Stress and Neurotoxicity in Wistar Rats.

Lead acetate (LA) exposure induces oxidative stress and neurotoxicity, leading to behavioral, biochemical, and histopathological alterations. Naringin, a natural flavonoid with potent antioxidant properties, has shown promise in ameliorating such damage. This study investigates the protective effects of naringin at different doses against LA-induced neurotoxicity in wistar rats. Thirty adult male wistar rats were randomly assigned to five groups (n = 6 each). Group I served as the control, receiving distilled water (2 mL/kg/day). Group II was administered LA (100 mg/kg/day) to induce neurotoxicity. Groups III, IV, and V were co-treated with LA and either N-acetylcysteine (NAC) (150 mg/kg/day), naringin low dose (50 mg/kg/day), or naringin high dose (100 mg/kg/day), respectively, for 28 days. At the end of the 28-day treatment period, blood and brain tissues were collected for biochemical assays. Apoptotic marker caspase-3 expression, oxidative stress markers such as malondialdehyde (MDA), catalase (CAT), and superoxide dismutase (SOD) levels were measured in serum and brain homogenates. Behavioral assessments were conducted using the elevated plus maze (EPM). Histopathological studies of brain tissues were also performed with a special focus on the hippocampus. The study highlights the neuroprotective effects of NAC and naringin against LA-induced neurotoxicity in wistar rats. LA exposure caused increased caspase-3 expression, elevated MDA levels, reduced antioxidant enzyme activities (CAT and SOD), and heightened anxiety-like behavior. NAC and high-dose naringin effectively mitigated these effects, restoring oxidative balance, improving behavior, and reducing neuronal damage. Histopathology confirmed significant neuroprotection with NAC and high-dose naringin, highlighting naringin's dose-dependent efficacy as a potential therapeutic agent comparable to NAC for lead-induced neurotoxicity. Naringin demonstrated dose-dependent neuroprotective effects against LA-induced neurotoxicity by improving antioxidant defenses, reducing oxidative stress, and preserving neuronal integrity. These findings support the therapeutic potential of naringin in managing neurotoxic conditions.
