Kamaraj College is one of the oldest Arts & Science Colleges in Tamil Nadu, having been established in the southern port city of Thoothukudi by various Hindu Charitable Organizations in the year 1966. The College has been named after the former Chief Minister K. Kamaraj (Bharat Ratna Awardee). The College is run by the Tuticorin Educational Society, which also runs a Matriculation School and a Women’s College within the lush green campus. The campus covers an area of 50 acres and has a student strength of 5,000.The College and Society were founded by the late industrialist, Sri. AMMS Ganesa Nadar, Managing Director, The Tuticorin Spinning Mills Ltd, and Hindu Charitable organizations including Karapettai Hindu Nadar Sangam, for the noble purpose of upliftment of the Hindu community. The College is affiliated to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli, and is accredited with ‘A+’ grade by NAAC, with a CGPA of 3.31. The college is research-oriented, and offers different courses in Commerce, Arts and Science..
The development of high-performance and sustainable photocatalysts is pivotal for mitigating environmental pollution, particularly in the treatment of dye-contaminated industrial wastewater. In this study, we report the synthesis of a graphitic carbon nitride/cadmium sulfide (g-CN/CdS) composite via a facile hydrothermal method, aimed at enhancing visible-light-driven photocatalytic efficiency and long-term stability. Comprehensive structural and chemical characterizations, including X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, confirm the successful anchoring of CdS nanoparticles onto the g-CN matrix. Photocatalytic performance evaluations reveal that the g-CN/CdS composite exhibits a significantly higher degradation rate of Congo Red (CR) dye compared to its individual counterparts, achieving an exceptional degradation efficiency of 99.85 % under visible-light irradiation. The superior activity is primarily attributed to the synergistic coupling between g-CN and CdS, which facilitates efficient charge carrier separation, suppresses electron-hole recombination, and mitigates photocorrosion. This work underscores the importance of heterojunction engineering in optimizing photocatalytic materials and offers a viable pathway for designing next-generation nanocomposites for eco-friendly and scalable wastewater remediation technologies.
This study investigats the green synthesis of copper nanoparticles (CuNPs) using the aqueous extract from the Thalassia hemprichii, a species of seagrass. Phytochemical analysis of the extract confirmed the presence of various bioactive compounds, including catechins, phenols, quinones, flavonoids, saponins, steroids, tannins, and glycosides. UV-Visible spectroscopy revealed a surface plasmon resonance peak at 277 nm. Fouriertransform infrared spectroscopy confirmed the presence of flavonoids and phenolic compounds. Scanning electron microscopy showed that the CuNPs were spherical in shape, while X-ray diffraction analysis verified their crystalline structure. Atomic force microscopy was used to assess surface topography. The CuNPs exhibited strong antioxidant activity, demonstrated by a high percentage of DPPH radical scavenging. These findings highlight the potential of green-synthesized CuNPs for multifunctional biomedical applications.
Tamil Nadu is often seen as a leader in social welfare in India. The state’s approach to empowering women uses a structured strategy that aims to help women become active participants in their own progress. This article studies on how these welfare schemes work and focus on their real impact on women in both rural and urban areas. It highlights key programs like Amma Unavagam, the Pudhu Vaazhvu Project, and maternity benefit schemes, and examines how they tackle issues such as nutrition, financial independence, and health. The article argues that these schemes support the social system that combines financial help, skill-building, and social security. It discusses the challenges in implementation, access, and social barriers that still limit their reach. The findings show that while Tamil Nadu has built a strong foundation and real empowerment depends on understanding local needs and improving digital and financial literacy. The Tamil Nadu model offers important lessons and its future success will rely on ongoing improvements and a focus on service quality. This article adds to the discussion on women’s development by offering a clear and critical look at one of India’s most active states.
In this study, we investigate specific kernel structures within interval valued topological spaces. We introduce the notions of interval-valued Λ-sets and interval-valued λ-closed sets and discuss their essential properties. The connections between these concepts and existing notions in interval-valued topology are examined in detail. Various characterizations and foundational results are presented to clarify their structural behavior. This work aims to enhance and extend the theoretical framework of interval-valued topology.
